Why not Ankita and Shekhar?

Although I am glad we have a new guy for Ankita, I wish Ankita and Shekhar were given a chance.

Shekhar, along with Shashank, is one of the only men I like in this show. He is practical, respectful, and kind. I really liked the support he provided to both Ankita and Pari.

I would have loved to see Shekhar supporting Ankita as she goes through her pregnancy. Slowly, a friendly and trustworthy relationship develops with them. They either get married or fall in love and get married. And just when they are married, BAM Naren re-gains his memory. How dramatic would that have been?

Mind you I have no interest in Naren and Ankita getting back together. I just think it would have had more impact if Ankita and Shekhar were together. I would have loved to see Ankita remain committed to Shekhar even if Naren tried to pursue her again.

I think the writers wanted someone who would be from a different city and who would not know either the Karmarkars or the Deshmukhs . Someone who would only know Ankita and not question her at all about her past .
As we know , Shekhar was a good friend of Naren .

Why do we always need our female leads to have a man to lean on?

Especially after one man hurts them - we always think another great man will fix everything. Is it us or is that how Indian serials tell us it is? A woman always needs a man.

I loved them as a couple but i guess as shekhar is Naren's bff it will be hard to take his girl altho Naren doesn't accept Ankita as his thang maybe later but by that time Ankita won't want him and he'll be groveeling hehas to redeem himself for to accept him and Ankita as a couple again and alot of grovelling and regret is involved

At one point of time I too thought that Ankita and Shekhar would have made a good pair but I think it is for the best that they are not being shown together. One, it would have required a complete transformation of the equation they shared earlier and second, they are too similar (sacrificing). Also, Shekhar is way too aware as to how Ankita feels for Naren, his best friend. The in-depth knowledge of each others history would have been a hindrance in their relationship. Too much baggage for them to start afresh.

A woman does not require a man but she does require a companion. Just like a man does. Being empowered does not mean to shun men. Moving on and not being stuck on in love with a man who has left you behind is also a form of empowerment. If a man loses his wife, wouldn't we also wish for him to find a new partner. Being with a man does not mean you are any less empowered, it is more to do with how you let him treat you. You can be single and yet be suppressed or you can be in a relationship where you are an equal.

Well, yes I agree. In my opinion, that would be the ideal scenario where a lead female character doesn't need a man in order to be strong. I would totally support that.

However, I was just thinking of an alternative since we are getting this new guy for Ankita.
