Emma Watson's
Bollywood debut?
Speculations suggest that the Hollywood actor might play the female lead in Shekhar Kapur's next film
S he gained worldwide fame for playing the popular character Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter film series. And now, in what could be one of the biggest casting coups in Bollywood, speculations are rife that Emma Watson might star opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Shekhar Kapur's Paani.
No one from the film's team has gone on record about it. But it's believed that only Kapur and producer Aditya Chopra are in the know of the development. "All the casting decisions are being kept under wraps. The makers plan to come out with a huge announcement soon," says an insider.
Apparently, Kapur has just returned from the US after spending over a month there. "Now, things are likely to move in top gear, especially since the movie " which will be a big-budget venture " goes on the floors around August. All the announcements will be made within the next month or so," adds the insider.
Earlier, Jennifer Lawrence's name was also doing the rounds but, at that time, Kapur denied it. John Travolta is also likely to be part of the film. "I have been offered a Bollywood film that I am considering doing...," he had said at an awards show in Florida last month.
Despite repeated attempts, Kapur, Sushant and Chopra's production company remained unavailable for comment.
