Only part I have different take is in the case of Sulo with Varsha.

Sulo punished Varsha by doing her shraddh while Varsha was alive..Sulo never taught Archana where she did wrong and always blamed Varsha. If Sulo's upbringing was right than none of her 3 daughters would have made a mess out of their marriages.

Savita and Manju are far better mothers than Sulo or Archana...Why?

BecaUSE Sulo-Archana think they are the bearer of all the sanskars, they are always right and never do anything wrong..Living in their own self created-believed world..

How parents are suppose to deal with a child like Ovi. Who does not listen to them, when trying to make her understand.

I will blame Savita and Manav for the way Ovi turned out as an adult.

Manav for giving her everything what ever she wants and Savita for making her hate her own mother, when Savita was the one who was at more fault then Archana.

Communication is a 2 way street, since her parents had no idea where she was and how the heck are they suppose to contact her in the 1st place.

Parents are not the only one who is responsible, what about the child responsibility in this relationship.

Ovi made the choice of not communicating with her parents and Armaan can not force her to talk with them, when she is unwilling.

Ovi is a stubborn girl and does what she wants.

Thank you everyone for your views!

They are all pertinent and shed light on the inconsistencies in the show.

The only thing I have to say in response to the last post is that the inconsistency is that Archana and Manav did have an impression that Ovi was with Arjun. They could have easily called him or if they were such business tycoons in Mumbai any of the associates.

As I said in the disclaimer in my first post, I really do not want to get into a discussion about any particular character. My question was about who should have called first in the story considering the widely held belief about parents' love being unconditional. If a child is difficult, the challenge is greater. But abandoning a child should not be shown as an option for parents who are supposed to be loving.

Before the thread gets into another discussion about a character, I will just say bye for now.

Ovi was 22 yrs old when all that happened, now shes 42 yrs old, shes one year older than Purvi!

In last 20 yrs she has aged in years, so she cannot exactly be called a difficult "child"! 😆

BTW dont we hear all the time that Ovi has grown as a character? 😆

I dont see any such growth in her character as shes still continuing her hide and seek game with her family!

She still has not called her parents even after hearing them say they really want to meet her!

Her parents dont know where she lives, they dont have her phone number but she has their phone number, she can call...but she just doesnt care for them, thats the real truth!

ArMaan asked Arjun for Ovi's whereabouts but Arjun didnt give them Ovi's phone number.

Archu asked Purvi to find out where Ovi is but Purvi didnt tell them Ovi was living with Arjun.

Ovi heard them repeatedly asking abt her, still she is not bothering!

Shes only interested in Arjun! Living with Arjun, being with him etc. 😉

If a 42 yr old daughter (not a child) doesnt want to keep in touch with her parents, if one man is what she needs in her life, then how is it the fault of parents when they dont even know where that daughter lives or what her phone number is?

here the discussion about from childhood ovi to 20 yrs ovi...and in marriage time they show ovi was 19 not 22 and purvi is 20 so how u thought ovi is elder than purvi...and its about difficulties purvi grow up in lovely care of archana and sulochana they never told anything against about manav and she knew every thing ...but ovi was grown up by savita who always told lie about her mother so that she will be hate and she saw manav's hateness also...

here discussion is about parents love towards child ...ovi did wrong hide about pia but arman new she is the same daughter who recently suffered by baby losing and divorce and she is the same girl who stayed in hotel bcz she could not tolerate purvi's romance with her husband but did not complain and simply stayed away ...again she is the same girl who herself tried to over come from betrayal and forgave arvi and also reunite them...then why they did not think something is more serious case with ovi but they simple fallowed purvi and disown ovi and cutoff every relationship with her... and u think after that ovi will be forcefully throw herself to then when they clearly told her they will be happy without her...

when ovi got time to close archana ...archana left her for 18 yrs and after 18yr they reunite only for one yr but with drama ovi did not understand her and archana always love purvi more than her so she could not got time and space to close her so its simple for a child to stay away but what u will be told about such mother who throw out her daughter for 40 yrs...first 18 yr for sacrifies and last 20 yrs for misunderstanding and sake of purvi...

and after 20 yrs struggle alone any one can think suddenly accept...its very hard to accept and also ovi wanted to meet them but for arjun she could not ...and still arjun being selfish after knowing arman search for ovi...he did drama for purvi but he did not think if he will be die then pia and ovi will be alone forever and they will be never be unite for his drama...he only thought about pari's future who as family from 20 ys but not for pia who is alone with her mother...

and u will be blame for ovi not contact to archana after knowing she search her then its blame also for purvi and arjun...purvi did not tell anything about ovi and also arjun after knowing everything he want used to ovi and not informing about ovi ...he is so selfish

Really I get annoyed when Ovi's unjust actions are justified. While rest are crucified for Ovi's actions.

If this post is about childhood Ovi to adult Ovi, then during childhood I will blame Savita the most for making her hate her own mother. Knowing very well what her role was in from taking the children from Archana.

Why is Savita given a free pass, since she was the major key player in the mess of Armaan lives and their kids. While Sulachana is crucified.

At 19 years of age a girl is an adult and Ovi was an adult when she made all those decisions. At least she should have listen to her father i.e Manav, if not Archana.

But no Ovi does what she wants. A parents can do as much as they can, especially with a problematic adult like Ovi.

I think Arjun and Purvi should tell Armaan about Ovi.

Can not just dump a child or adult child mistakes on parents. Ovi is responsible for her own actions.

Ovi is always being presented as a victim! Poor Ovi and all that! 😆

She has never been a victim! She has always done what SHE wanted all her life!

Nobody could ever make her understand! She never listened to her parents, she never respected them! She didnt listen to Manav when she was going crazy to possess Arjun, she didnt listen to Archana when she was pregnant and harming her baby.

She never cared abt her parents, even when Archu was in a coma, Ovi was busy modelling in Canada.

Love and relationships have to work from both sides!

ArMaan didnt call Ovi for 20 yrs, because they thought she was living with Arjun, at least they were not worried abt where she was!

But now they are worried abt her, they really want to see her, see her daughter!

But Ovi prefers to be in hiding from them and do this stupid charade with Arjun instead!

From age 22 to 42, Ovi didnt bother calling her parents because she was angry on them?

But Why? It was SHE who didnt tell them abt Pia's birth! It was SHE who left for Canada and then after ArVi separation, it was SHE who ran away to Australia and lived there for 20 yrs without informing them where she was..

.How on earth would ArMaan have her phone number for Australia???

Even Arjun didnt know where Ovi was, when Purvi asked Arjun after the leap, he just said Ovi calls him from time to time but he doesnt know exactly where she is...

Its Reciprocal...parents always love their children but children also need to love them back, to care abt them, to keep in touch with them!

Ovi wasnt a teenager that she ran away from her parents but she left them of her own free will and lived in self imposed exile. She was very much an adult and it was HER CHOICE to stay away from her parents for last 20 yrs!

It was always HER CHOICE whatever she did her whole life! She never listens to anyone anyway! 😆

Oh well, I don't believe nor agree that Parents are always unconditional with their love...no, they aren't. Sure, parents are supposed to be just and fair and love all their children equally, but that hardly happens.

As for the fact that Ovi should have contacted Arman and cleared the misunderstanding between them. Well, we do not know exactly what happened and how the relationship was broken. They probably didn't even hear her out, nor Archana, the mother of 4 kids, could figure out what could have probably happened. She just assumed on the basis of hearsay - from hearing out one daughter over another, and here my kids tells me I have eyes on the back of my head. Funny, married life, 4 kids, her own separation for 18yrs from her family did not teach Archana a thing about life, nor enrich her with practical experiences. So, she missed the fact that the baby was preemie and so needed constant monitoring. So, the parents at age 54 yrs and 57 yrs disowned a daughter, who was probably 20 yrs. Archana, the mother again stayed away from the daughter for another 20 yrs - first she did to a baby, and second time - she did it to a 20 yrs old daughter just divorced with a premature' baby. Hmmm...how hard must it have been for the daughter to survive with her baby - did she check on her to make sure that Ovi married her former husband or not?? Did Archana, the mom make sure Ovi was safe?? Maybe that is too much of an expectation from her - considering the fact she was forcing Purvi's marriage on Ovi - even when she was mentally unstable and clearly suicidal. What humanity did Archana show - let forget her as the mother - did she show any for a fellow human being or towards a premature baby. Did she ever cry for her stillborn grandkid - so, why should Ovi care - could I care for a mom as cold-hearted as Archana - not really. Why expect that she takes the time to clear her misunderstanding - when she was also probably fighting to survive with a premature baby with no support from anyone. She survived all alone and the onus falls on her to make the effort?? No, she should just walk away from such a pathetic parents ..

Did ArMaan know Pia was premature? Did they know anything abt her birth or her sickness?

Did Ovi tell them? Did Purvi even know abt Pia being premature?

Only thing they have shown in pre-leap episodes and post leap flashbacks is... Purvi learns Pia is Arjun Ovi's daughter, she has a miscarriage, she finds Arjun in Ovi's home again after that and she leaves Arjun.

Not shown but indicated- Purvi apparently went and told ArMaan that Arjun is living with Ovi and their newborn daughter.

ArMaan disowned Ovi just as they had disowned Purvi after learning Pari was her and Arjun's child.

But Purvi was still in same town and in constant touch with ArMaan even after the disowning. She did visit them, she tried to talk to them.

But what did Ovi do? She completely disappeared, she left Canada where ArMaan could have contacted her when they themselves settled there. Ovi went all the way to Australia, as far away as possible from her family.

Granted that Ovi was never close to Archana and hated her most of her life and Archana also doesnt love Ovi as much as she does Purvi.

But what abt Manav? What abt Savita? Didnt Ovi feel like contacting these 2 people who have always loved and supported her?

Ovi also had support and friends in Canada, then why did she go to Australia of all places to bring up Pia all alone?😕

And again, how would ArMaan call Ovi first if they dont have her phone number in Australia? 😆

Or does phone number remain the same when u move from Canada to Australia? I dont know abt that, will have to do some research...😆
