Yes, Chadda TRIED to force her.

But let me ask this. When Ovi agreed to take part in Arjun's plan to fake a marriage in front of Purvi, it was asked whether anyone held a gun to her head? And, believe me, I agree that Ovi is wrong for agreeing to Arjun.

SO was Purvi held at gunpoint? NO. She had the option to say NO to Chadda. She has shown enough confidence in standing up to people. Even at 18 years of age she stood up for herself in front of her boss Arjun when she started working in his company.

Why couldn't she say NO? Oh that's because she saw the opportunity to make Arjun jealous and she went for it despite of how "SANSKAARI' she claims herself to be.

I would like to clear for the record.
1) Purvi is not an Alcoholic as a member on this thread has called her. She had 1 drink. ONE. That does not make someone an alcoholic.

2) Purvi was not "flirting" with chadda.

Its funny how when Ovi does something its because of how she feels and such and Purvi does something its blown totally out of proportion. The way some members are talking it seems like she was at a club dancing and drinking.

Im sorry but who would believe a man who seconds earlier was saying he loved you and couldn't live without with such sincerity.

If Ovi and Arjun aare indeed married from the last 20 years whats the reason to be OTT like this.. They act worse than a newly married couple.. Oh God seriously the weather was so nice so we have to go out.. Wrapping you hand around your husbands time and time again. Im sorry but that is so unrealistic. Please don't tell me that they are married so on and so forth.. I was born and raised abroad I don't see couples in their 40's doing all of this..

I still find it hilarious how Purvi drinking one glass is a crime when Ovi was drinking bottles and bottles of alcohol when she was pregnant and it was supposedly.

Ovi is coming to india and helping Arjun put on this charade didn't shee think about right and wrong then? She openly said that Arjun shouldn't do this yet she is helping him?

Anyways this was what I expected, Purvi is MS. Popularity in this forum! Love her Hate her Can't IGNORE her😉

Have fun debating fellow India Forums members.

Ciao!

To answer your above question, no one knows if Purvi dances with other men in front of Pari. Is Purvi supposed to live the rest of her life unhappy and single? I don't think she has to... she just chose to. There is a thing called a second marriage.

So everyone that has a second marriage have no value?? I think not..

I agree! Ive had many American neighbours who have been happily married to each other for decades, they are devoted to each other and spend all their lives with each other! Very cute old couples! 😊

And divorced women do get remarried, in India and abroad! Definitely Purvi is not planning to marry Raunak or Chaddha...😆 she just danced with them!

I think women can accept a dance with someone if asked? And they also have the right to refuse unwanted advances if the dance partner gets out of hand?
I have never been to discos or night clubs but I've heard the same thing can happen there with modern girls too? If someone misbehaves with them, its not their fault, is it?

There are definitely NOT as many Indian divorces as Whites. Certainly not in India and not in USA, Canada, Europe also.

Nobody is saying Purvi have to live the rest of her life unhappy and single. She just should not drink and dance to make her Ex-husband jealous. If it was a real love interest which has possibility to end in marriage, then there was no problem.

"India does not track a national divorce rate, but some analyses of the number of divorce petitions filed in municipal courts indicate that divorce has doubled since 1990 in trend-setting Mumbai and Delhi.

"Statistically the number of cases on the docket has exploded," says Prosenjit Banerjee, a Delhi divorce lawyer. That means that even though the number of courts devoted to divorce proceedings has grown to around a dozen over the past 10 years, up from just four or five, there are still more than 30 cases listed before each court every day." (Huffington Post, 2013)

That's just in Delhi alone, now we must include all the other regions in India. Also there are definitely a lot in US, Canada, and Europe as well. So we can't say whose more...

Again, for the last time, Purvi is human, and humans do those things to make people jealous. Besides that, why isn't it ok to dance with someone if marriage is not in the future. How many people go to parties just to dance? A LOT. That's the best part about Indian parties. What we look forward to when people have a birthday, a wedding, etc... Sometimes, it's just about a dance and nothing more.

Maybe western was more appropriate word.😊

Don't waste your time talking about values on this forum, it is always taken out of context, misunderstood and cause plenty arguments.

Sorry for interjecting. The reason for the post and those who agree with it, is because when Ovi did it at a young and immature age of 19 yrs, most of the forum said the worse things about her, just because they wanted Arjun and Purvi, long before they even met. Arjun was single at the time also, so there was no need for such protest against Ovi. So, it is sad to see the double standard now when 40 odd year old Purvi does it.
Nothing wrong if everyone has their favourite, but it is really sad when we go as far as being double standard just to make another character wrong to make your favourite look good.
Trust me, no one would have probably commented about Purvi, if Ovi was not spoken about so badly when she did the same and worse at a younger age.

Being Sanskari doesnt mean she cannot get jealous! Sanskari people are human beings too, they can feel jealousy, anger, hurt, pain, and all human emotions! They haven't exactly transcended human emotions, then they would be Saints! Mahatmas! Sant-Rishi! 😆
I think the term Sanskars is completely misunderstood here!
Of course she wanted to make Arjun angry and worried, not exactly jealous! She knew Arjun was worried abt Chaddha targeting her! She wanted to see concern and love in Arjun's eyes. That was her motive!

The thing I found most cheap was the mentality towards NRI women as expressed by Chaddha! Nobody is discussing abt that? Everybody is busy blaming Purvi!
How Chaddha thought that just because Purvi is a single woman, a divorcee from Canada she would be easy game? 🤢

Okay I just want to make several points here.

1) I never criticized Purvi for her FEELINGS. I don't think anyone here is saying anything about what she feels, whether it's jealousy or anger or hurt. Of course she's allowed to feel the emotions you listed because those are human emotions. It's her ACTIONS that are extremely immature.

2) I am seeing the word Sanskaar as how Purvi described it HERSELF. Was it not her who said she doesn't drink because of her values, sanskaars etc.? Yes, right? Then but the next day/episode she still went ahead and drank. You see she said one thing and did another.

I usually relate sanskaars to one's actions and NOT feelings. Of course she is allowed to feel the things she felt. Of course sanskaari people can feel different emotions, whether it is love, hate, jealousy. The difference is in actions. A girl who seems to be so proud of the values her mother instilled in her WOULD NOT have premarital sex with a guy in a roadside shack. That doesn't mean she can't fall in love.

3) Of course Chadda is wrong! It's clearly obvious! Everyone is saying this guy is a pervert. No question about it and that's my point! How dumb is Purvi to make herself vulnerable to a predator like Chadda being at the age she is, all to make Arjun jealous! And by age I mean that at 40+ age, I'd expect her intelligence to be higher. I don't mean that at her age she can't drink, dance, or date anyone. You'd expect a teenager to behave stupidly like this but not a grown woman because one expects grown adults to be more mature in the way they handle their emotions (whether it's jealousy or hurt).

But yes, there are very happy families here also.

Sadly, the same is true for India. And for Indians everywhere. Which is why I don't like to state something unless it can be proven. I, myself, believe a marraige is for life, but as we move forward in time, many many people, Indian, white, African, etc believe otherwise. My parents did a superb job in raising me to work out problems, instead of divorcing at the drop of a pin.
