Ekta Kapooris presently at the helm of things, working on not one, not two but three upcoming shows to be launched on three major GECs. While her Colors show Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi is already on floor, the casting process for her Life OK show starring Sonali Bendre titledBade Dhoke Hai Is Raah Mein Pyaar Keis presently on.

Well, the third show which will be for Star Plus is a biggie of course, the much-talked about Season 2 of the popular dramaKyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Presently, the show is in its scripting phase, but has been hit by a major roadblock.

Apparently, Ekta Kapoor had her first talk about the Season 2 withSmriti Iraniwhen she was shooting with her for her Life OK episodic seriesEk Thi Naayka. And Smriti had then expressed her happiness, and was even excited to do the project.

However, post this, Smriti has had a great political journey and now, she is one of the newly elected ministers in the Narendra Modi cabinet. And with this political development, chances of Smriti getting back to television looks rather grim. And this is exactly the dilemma faced by the creative team of Balaji Telefilms.

Says a source, "Actually, the scripts of the Season 2 are now being worked upon. And the story formation had begun keeping Smriti in mind. But now, the think-tank is suddenly clueless and stuck."

The source continues to say, "Smriti being in the ministry now, has all of a sudden gotten very busy and is non-approachable. And this prompts us to probably think of various other options."

For the uninitiated, actors Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Sandeep Baswana, Shilpa Saklani, Ritu Choudhary have been locked for the Season 2 of the popular show. Also, an all-India audition is presently on for the younger generation.

We tried contacting Smriti, but could not get through to her.

Our efforts to reach out to Ekta Kapoor to talk about Smriti's unavailability remained futile.

So willKyunki season 2see light without Smriti? Only time will tell.
