I have a lot more to do - Hiten Tejwani

After doing so many shows with Ekta Kapoor and bagging so many awards, the man needs no introduction - Hiten Tejwani. He is straight, simple and communicate dil se. A man I really find interesting talking to, a man of substance and a true gentleman. It was a lovely conversation with Just Showbiz.

After doing so many shows, movies and bagging awards do you think you have achieved what you want from life?

No actually there is lot more to achieve. In the process of growing as an actor I never ever get satisfied in life. There is lots more to do and want to bag more awards on the way.

You played so many roles. Which role you find more close to your heart?

I got recognition from Pratham Mittal and it had faces of mine so it was close to my heart. Then came definitely the much bigger role I would say of Karan Virani. These 2 roles are always close to my heart because they are just beginning of my career and also these 2 are given me whatever I am today.

You are a dad. Please share your first experience being a dad

Initially it took time to recognize that you are dad. When we see our children we see more self. We live your life and childhood through them. It is the feeling you can't describe I don't have words. I can say out of this world. I think its gift of God and everybody should experience this. I have twins so double is the happiness.

What was the challenges you face when you step into shoes of Maanav character, a role which was well done by Sushant Singh Rajput ?

He had done it very well because its related to him. Maanav is Sushant Singh Rajput and he played for 2 and half years. Definitely it was a challenge and I have done because of challenge associated with it .Whole challenge was that Sushant and Maanav become synonymous so to get into his shoes was my risk. I was lucky ,I really appreciate that I was not force to do that whatever he was doing. I had my style and it was a such a lovely character on the screen you already know so it didn't take much time to actually recognize and actually relate to him. Touch wood I didn't had much problems as a Maanav and it was very smooth.

What preparation you do to enter into the skin of your character?

Luckily I don't have to work much because the characters are not that complicated. We have to work hard for some characters like psychological or physically challenged which are complicated. Some of the characters which I played have the qualities that I have in me like Maanav is good human being so that comes across. You don't need to work hard on that. We are having those qualities then definitely it come across. We come across body language onscreen. He is good human being, he is humble, simple and stumpy. So some of the qualities luckily I also have that works with the character. Otherwise I go to the history of the character. I make sure that I know the character well. I observe mannerisms of character and adopt body language depending on that.

What is your dream role and have you played it on screen?

For an actor it is difficult to mention dream role. The role that remains as reference for everybody would be my dream role.

Any crazy incidents with fans.

There is lot of incidents. After my marriage one girl called me and said I am ok to accept Gauri, marry me. Later on phone I made her understood situation. Finally she understood. That matter solved on phone.

From old era black and white to Eastman color which heroine you want to date with and why?

Definetely Madhubala

Something about your child hood

The way I am still I am a child I never grown up though I have 2 kids. Gauri always says that I have 3 kids in house. I had lovely and wonderful child hood. I couldn't have asked for better child hood. I was happy and contended child. By god's grace never faced any problems. We are 3 brothers. My parents are also simple, down to earth, very nice and no egos. I have inherited their qualities. Nothing else I would ask for. I would like to pass that to my children. To be humble, down to earth and very nice. Be a good human being is the basic. Rest all follows. That's what I believe in.

Message to your fans

I would say without fans we actors or anybody from this field is nothing. So your love, best wishes and blessings are the one which keeps us going. We also try hard and do lot of roles, to entertain you and get appreciation from your side. Thank you so much for your love, blessings and wishes.
