I don't feel that writing thesis on the diversity of customs in India CAN justify THIS union.

Yes, we know that there are parts of India where the Mamu is the first choice as husband-that is a regional practice.
Yes, there are multiple wives allowed-that is a religious practice.

Yes, sometimes,a sister will marry her jiju-IF her sister dies and their is a child involved-that is a circumstantial practice.

Yes there are times when a widowed woman will marry her Jeth or Dewar-"Chaddar Chaddana"-that is a practice dictated by a family's need to keep meager agricultural wealth intact.

The MOOT POINT in the case of AK and PD is that NONE of these apply to them. Both are SIMPLY lusting after each other-OUTSIDE OF THEIR OWN MARRIAGES to their respective spouses. A one night stand does NOT form the foundation of eternal or Pavitra Love ( much as the teenage brigade would like to believe!!)-nor do sly meetings/conversations, heavy breathing in the rain, getting touchy feely with your sister's husband or another man's legal wife. All that THAT leads to is a sense of distaste in the eyes of MOST viewers. I have NEVER heard of this happening in an AVERAGE MIDDLE CLASS MAHARASHTRIAN HOUSEHOLD!

As for the argument that they should be united for Pari's sake...well that TRULY is laughable. That unfortunate child may be better of being fostered to a loving childless couple for all the love and concern her biological parents shower on her : A father who WILL cause her to suffer life long vertigo, the way he throws her up kootchie cooing-it is ALL he does! And the mother played pass the Parcel with her moments after her birth and continues to dump her in the nearest pair of hands while she stumbles around in the rain falling into Jiju's conveniently THERE arms!

Then too, there is a STRONG tinge of misogynistic mind set that is OK with the fact that the man consummated his marriage...but the woman chastely remained untouched and PURE ONLY for him...but THAT is a whole new can of worms to open and this thread is not the place for it!!

People say it was only ovi s mistake. she took a gun said she wud kill everyone. u marry me right nw or u r dead! Kindly this matter I told U that that gun is not physical or try to kill anyone. But that gun was mom love emotion.

U say this iwas only mistake by ovi. Then your kind information U read following what other mistake of ovi.

How ovi is good person now. She's rude, offensive, disrespectful, neurotic and obsessive! I remember the way she behaved with Archana even before she knew Archu was her mother. She was treating Archu like a servant, ordering her around because to Ovi, she was just her father's employee who could be bullied and commanded according to her will. She told Archu to call her Ma'am! Inspire of Archu being much older to her! Ovi behaved like a typical obnoxious rich kid who has an inflated sense of her own entitlement because of having a rich dad! I cannot stand such kids!

Not only bad behave with her mother Archana but also bad behave with Sulochana when she know that she is Archana mother.

She always WANTED to have what she liked! And even she always got what she wanted. It's just nobody can buy a person's feelings and that's exactly what happened in Arjun-Ovi's case... I have always seen that she changes with time, If good happens to her, she becomes good and if worse happens to her , she becomes bad.. This shows her immature attitude of course, she is immature..

When ovi dealing this proposal with Purvi you need first try that time situation. Many times I say this again I say Purvi is orphan. So she is more concern her mother life. Emotion is one of the most weak thing people lives. Obviously ovi not dealing this hold a gun to either Purvi or Arjun's head or force but she applies emotion blackmail. ovi well know Purvi how much love her mother. Only her mother sake she is ready ovi proposal. Purvi very well know how Archana missing her family last 18 years. If Purvi not agree that proposal then ovi was suicide. U remembers when ovi try to cut her wrist that moment Purvi call to ovi & she agrees to meet Purvi. If not Purvi call that time then ovi was suicide. Whole family blames Purvi for ovi death. Archana also feel bad. If that happen Purvi never forgive her to death of ovi. Then time U people also blame like present Purvi. For her Arjun was a winning trophy whom she wanted to possess by hook or crook. No sane real person would behave how Ovi has behaved. Manav described Ovi rightly in yesterday's episode. So even her parents know she was wrong.

Remember when Bishnu Bala (Soham) Kidnap Purvi instead ovi then Manav was agree to fulfilled Balan demand. But ovi was angry & she try to interput thiat what need to spent so much money for Purvi. What kind of sister she is.

After 1 month marriage anniversary when ovi came home with Arjun then after many days Faruq Bhai has meet to Arjun that he is now good position. If DK not help him he never recover his debt. That time he not knows that Arjun was married with ovi instead Purvi. He wishes to Allah that they are good couple & always will be happy. Then what ovi was reaction. she throws that sweet Faruq Bhai had given them & too much bad behave with senior person like him.

I also remember how Ovi demanded that the then pregnant Purvi be thrown out of Deshmukh house simply because she could not stand Purvi to be in the same house as her! What kind of girl could throw out a heavily pregnant girl (I won't even say sister as Ovi never considered Purvi as her sister) just for her own whims and jealousy? And that too after Purvi dragged Onir to Mumbai to treat Ovi's pregnancy? Is it human behavior?????????

When ovi was pregnant she was totally drunked. Her behavior tries to kill her baby. Also onir say this her womb is so weak. If she not cares herself anytime lost her baby.

People say Purvi forced onir to come Mumbai. But this is really wrong. Only ARMAN demand sake Purvi try to make convince onir to treatment ovi. When he was not agreeing she forced to come Mumbai then onir also came.

Teju has inherited her parents' basic goodness; Ovi has inherited only Savita's selfishness! It often happens that in a pair of twins, one is born with good traits and the other with bad traits. Teju and Ovi are examples of that!

When she know that Pari is Purvi baby then she was totally careless of Pari. When Archana know whole truth then Purvi try to explain Archana everything. But what ovi did. she asking Purvi why not abort your baby. What type woman she is.

She never a good daughter, nor nor good sister, nor good friend, nor good wife, nor good wife.

no word!! speechless👏⭐️

All of us have a right to an opinion.

If a host of people think Purvi and Arjun are disgusting, then a whole host of others do not believe so. I don't think one needs to justify their stand to the other.

Anyway, I believe that Arjun and Purvi have every right to be with each other if that is what they want. If Archana wants Purvi to be with Arjun, then it is most probably because she knows Purvi gave up Arjun for her sake, right or wrong. When Ovi herself has chosen to leave Arjun behind and has even expressed a desire to see Arjun and Purvi together, what is so wrong if Archana and Sulochana want it? So, what if Arjun was once married to Ovi? So, what if Purvi was married to Saint Onir? If they were simply not happy in their marriages and want to be together, why should their morality be questioned? Why should every simple act of affection be described as lust driven? If I can see the pain in Ovi's eyes, I can also see the pain in Arjun's and Purvi's eyes? I fail to see the need to sit in selective judgment here!

No, Arjun does not have to be with Purvi for Pari's sake. Nor does Purvi have to be with Arjun for Pari's sake. Pari is not the first child in this world to be born out of wedlock nor is she going to be the last. It is society that needs to shed its disgustingly judgmental ways rather than children like Pari. So yes, her parents do not have to marry each other for her sake. They have to marry each other only if they love each other and want to spend what is left of their lives together.

Yes, traditions vary from region to region and it would be asinine to use a common yardstick for them all. However, I don't think Purvi or Arjun need to seek the defence of tradition or their daughter.

They can and must be together if that is what they want! They have a right to it and when their respective spouses have themselves recognised this right, I don't see why the rest of the world should have a problem!

On how dare Sulochana and Archana even conceive of such a thing, they do so only because Purvi is as much theirs as Ovi. Thankfully, Archana does not discriminate between her daughters, biological or adopted, More power to her!

@sharadrocks

Thank you for agreeing to disagree SO gracefully and logically-it is a LOVELY change from the usual impassioned rants that greet any obverse opinion!
Charmed, I'm sure!

Ovi was never a good sister, daughter, friend, wife! Hmm right- so Purvi is
A good sister- Purvi the self proclaimed good sister, watched Ovi getting engaged to Arjun, she knew how badly Ovi loves Arjun, where was her sisterly feeling then, her bhalaai syndrome, Ovi attempted suicide went hysterical, but this good sister was having her pre-poned honeymoon, she swapped Ovi's baby with her illegitimate one and when truth came out accused Ovi for breaking her trust, being a bad mother - such a wonderful sister she is! right ?
A good daughter- who lied to Onir that she is an orphan, absolutely denied her mother's existence, who couldn't control her hormones, got pregnant, swapped that baby with that of her sister's and continued to lie about it - wow such a adv for her mother's sanskaars!
A good wife- now this takes a cake, she was who fed on Onir's riches when in kolkata and after shifting to K house, made her husband who in her own words was her bhagwaan sleep on floor, made him to commit a crime which jailed him, ruined him professionaly, personally, socially- but what a sita for her ram she is!
Loved Ovi when she completly disregard Purvi, she met everyone who were important to her, missed them but when Purvi came infront of her eyes just ignored her like a passer-by. BRILLIANT
