Purity/Morality Meter

So much discussion already on whether Ovi Or Purvi are to take the blame for what has happened already.

IMHO, If there was a Morality Meter that can monitor a person's mental/emotional/physical health, which then translates into their Purity of thoughts/actions, then here is my 2 cents worth!

Purvi: Orphaned at birth, received the kind of parenting that focused on valuing Unselfish Actions (no surprise, look at the mother who parented her). Life and personal worth could only be calculated on the basis of the number of personal sacrifices/unselfish actions you showed on a daily basis. Other factors such as how those actions truly impacted others in the present/future, or if these actions were indicative of your healthy self-esteem does not even enter the equation. In addition, the fact that you were adopted automatically put a life's worth of obligation for the parent that took you in. The end result is that your sense of self-esteem,values,morals is so off the charts, that you can place Purvi on the extreme unhealthy unselfish end of the meter. Unfortunately, the result of her thinking and actions brings about disaster not only for her, but also for those that received her sacrificial actions! It does not matter what her IQ is as this is overshadowed by her obsessive need to always sacrifice irrespective of whether that sacrifice actually brings any long-term benefit at all.

Ovi: Raised without the biological mother, but received parenting from a father that felt so guilty for the absence of a mother, that he overcompensated. This meant that dearest Ovi had an outrageous sense of entitlement. What she wanted, she got, or should get, or else, hell breaks lose. If she laid some tribal claim on Arjun, her childhood friend, then it meant he was hers to do whatever she so wished, no need to consult Arjun, as he is nothing more than a commodity. Compound that parenting with a crazy grandmother, and we have a makings of a spoilt brat, overly selfish on our Meter.

Arjun: Raised without a mother, but for the most part, had a stable father, who allowed his son to chalk his way in life. However, for some reason, the absence of a mother left him vulnerable as when it came to falling in love, interacting with the fair sex and making wise choices, he became the sacrificial lamb for the Pur/Ov is. His IQ, came to no aid, as his reasonable thinking was given up by the tears of his beloved. In short, he too couldn't see the long term consequences of sacrifices, a concept very new to him, although practiced for life by his beloved Purvi! So Arjun finds himself vacillating between the two extreme women, nullifying any logic that he possessed.

Lets not bring the Manav/Archu/Savita/Sulo in the balance of the equation, because what we now have is a recipe for disaster, which is exactly what we have on our hands.
As for laying blame, i don't know if its that clear cut. I mean all actions have a reaction, so we have a domino effect with a kind of mess on our hands that realistically cannot be cleaned up without wiping the slate clean, which only GOD can accomplish, and anyone foolish enough to try is themselves beyond therapy.

What is the lesson? I don't know about you, but in my very humble opinion, laying no claims to know it all, feel that we need the correct balance in our life when it comes to the Morality Meter. We need to know what actions on our part can bring a positive and healthy emotional/mental/physical , balanced individual. We need to know that our purpose on existing on this planet is not to exclusively fix others(that have no interest in changing for the better) that are so unhealthy in the essentials(emotional/mental etc),but rather to conscientiously work towards personal growth and bonding with others that are on the same point on the Meter that monitors our mental/emotional self-esteem. Then perhaps, we stand a shot at making our lives truly worthwhile, happy and meaningful. So if that sounds arrogant, selfish, then perhaps, its the healthy selfish count!

Its true that Ekta Mata's storylines go to such extremes, but I know there are varying degrees of such individuals living and breathing right now. Yes, we will feel sad, pity, etc for them, but without a miracle from GOD, they cannot be helped, and lord help us, if we end up getting entangled with them in any type of relationships.

That's my 2 cents worth.
