Have followed most of Ekta's shows on and off. The common factor to all of them is couples breaking up. I realize that couples break up in real life too. So, no big deal there. And yet, why are all Ekta's leads such losers when it comes to love? I mean they almost always never get the ones they love, at least not the first time round. And even if they do, they are bound to get into extra-marital affairs or, they end up kicking the bucket, Anything but a long and happy married life - that seems to be Ekta's mantra. Why do you think this is the case? Is this just a tried and tested formula or is it deep-rooted cynicism. Her own parents have lived together for close to four decades if not more. So, it is not like she is from a broken family or anything. So why this motif of star crossed lovers? Is this the only way to take a story or a show forward? Is there such a huge creative drought in Tellywood? Or does she personally abhor the idea of happily ever afters? How I wish I could ask Ekta these questions?
