I

IMAGINE her childhood-a philanderer, white booted father pushing his pliant wife around at drunken parties-no wonder the men in her serials are portrayed as weak and women as abla naris. All festivals, holidays, marriages, pujas, funerals seared with father's OTT behavior and mother's copious tears-she is getting revenge for a misery filled childhood by making us live it vicariously...I do feel sorry for her sometimes!

I don't get it, if the reason for Arvi breaking up is for the sake of a deal so that Ovi will accept Archana, and this is seen as a wonderful Mahaan on Purvi's part, then how can Arvi reunion be expected? How does that make any sense?
Obviously that is why Purvi and Onir would fall in love. If you make a promise for the sake of your Mother's happiness, why would you back out of it afterwards? Purvi did not tell Arjun to get married to Ovi for a trial basis, it is supposed to be permanent. Purvi did not care whether or not Arjun loved Ovi, she just wanted the deal to go through for the sake of Archana. She had no pity for Arjun.

If she had any intention of going back on her word to Ovi, she would not have gotten married to Onir when she found out she was pregnant, she would have gone to Arjun and told him she was pregnant. Then she would not have given her baby to Ovi to Arjun, even though it was mostly self-interest, but I am sure it was also partly to keep them together.

So, I cant see how Ekta would have Purvi and Arjun reunite. I wonder why she keeps giving the Arvi fans false hopes, typical Ekta. I am not any Arvi fan, but I feel sorry for their fans to be played like this. Ekta played a serious game on Arvi fans.

Same way she reunited Archana and Manav, then have Archana help to ruin her married life with lending out Soham and taking Manav to court. Only to put them together 18yrs later briefly, to only put Archana in a coma.
Ekta should quit writing. I can understand having drama to spice up the show, but why does it have to be unethical and unhappy for others?Ekta's fictional stories, make fiction look bad.😔

I can certainly vision her having such a childhood, only explanation for such psychotic men hating and women acting like men stories. 😆

Nina,

I did not mean the whole of the window scene, but just the first shot as soon as he gets to the K house and looks up. At that point, they do not show Purvi at the window His face then was genuinely tense and strained. The rest was, to put it inelegantly, hogwash.

As for what is to come, I do not set any store by the snarling, angry Arjun shown in the precap/promo. It will, as I had said earlier, all come to nothing. It would be disastrous for Purvi vis a vis her parivaar and the society in which she lives, and she will never allow that to happen. Nor will the CVs, for they cannot have their golden girl dragged thru the muck. She never gets found out - see how Vinay was conveniently bumped off!

Now she also has a brahmastra for whipping Arjun back into line - of what such a revelation would mean for Pari's future - she would be branded illegitimate for keeps. This would not change even if Arjun and Purvi were to get married now. And that is, I feel, not going to happen.

As for Ekta's penchant for dubious tracks, in BALH, Ram Kapoor marries his sister-in-law, his (supposedly) dead wife's younger sister, only in name, and that too only to save her from the ignominy of being stuck with his brother's kid, as an unmarried mom, as the brother refuses to marry her. He gives the kid his name. that is all. So it is not at all like Arjun, and in any case both the male protagonists in BALH, Ram Kapoor, and the Onir-like Rajat Kapur, are one-woman men. So is Priya a one-man woman, who does not agree to marry the super rich Rajat, who is deeply in love with her, even though she has then no idea of getting back with Ram. Now Ram and Priya seem to have to given up all his money and started afresh. I say seem because I have stopped watching it some weeks ago, it was getting to be very boring. But there is absolutely no immorality in BALH, except that the heroine's younger sister ends up doing a Shravani.

Incidentally, I cannot believe how, in the 21st century, with so many preventive methods, Ekta and Balaji still end up with the same old main maa bannewali hoon cliche. And that too in a dirty wet shack. Ugh,,,

Shyamala I agree RD's acting leaves a lot to be desired now. I saw gifs of the scene where he is looking at the window and remembering his and Purvi's window moment, even then his acting faltered. His expression made me think of a little kid whose favorite toy was snatched away and he couldn't do anything about it.

Tanya u made me laugh

u know this is quite possible ? They can show Varsha doing tyaags upon tyaags and Sulo and Savita putting pressure on Manav to remarry , then Archana waking up , after some time has elapsed in the marraige and this dialogue

Tumne sirf mera beta hi nahi , mera poora sansaar cheena .

As u say now there is no head nor tail to the show . They can even show the kids enthusiastically planing the marraige ...the norm of today .

This jeeju saali thing disgusts me a lot especially since i grew up on my jeeju's lap ...he was father , elder brother all rolled into one . Its absolutely unacceptable to me even if the jeejus in this show r young , that relation itself is so sacred , like a bro sis . It apalls me .

It seems to me that wanting Arvi reunion, is like asking both characters to accept sub-standard love at all times.

How is it Arjun is so unfortunate that on two occasions despite not being in love with Ovi, he is so-called forced to commit to her?
First, due to Savita's ingenious idea to let Ovi make Arjun jealous, he quickly accepts her engagement only seconds away from adamantly stating he does not love her, want her, can't see his future with her.

So, on one hand Ovi is the horrible person, who loves Arjun just the way he is, never tried to change him, never insulting him or try to spite him to prove that he is an idiot in his business. Never try to make him feel less because he is Rich. Always trying to prove her love for Arjun.
She wanted his love so badly

While on the other hand we have Mahaan Purvi, who was very rude and disrespectful to Arjun when she met him and for sometime. She made him feel that being Rich was wrong, even though it was not his fault, he never chose to be DK's son. He was constantly tested to prove his love, Purvi never had to go through any tests for him, nor did she care to. She would not have even cared if Soham had killed Arjun.
Her final insult to the guy's love was to marry him off to the same girl he has been so-called trying to run from, for the sake of her Mother, who was quite happy to marry her off to Arjun, not caring that her real daughter wanted to commit suicide. No deal was necessary, because Purvi was and will always be number one to Archana and now to the entire family, and she knows it. It was and still is neither here nor there to Purvi whether she has Arjun's love.

So, with Arjun still wanting Purvi after he was held at gun point over and over again to prove his love for Purvi and only Purvi, Arvi still make a perfect pair?

On the other hand, Purvi clearly not loving Arjun, because even after having pre-marital sex with him, she could see another woman touch him. She has his love and couldn't care less, yet they make a perfect pair, meant for each other?

Therefore, Purvi never loved Arjun, so she shunned his love over and over again. She was fine with his physical advances though. Arjun never loved Purvi, because he should never have married any other woman, it should have been impossible, after so much promos and long lines of appreciation for the Jodi was shown. Then he lay with Ovi, who he sees as only a friend, a sister, nothing else, but he had sex with her and no one saw him throwing up?hmm...and even though Purvi is married to Onir as a compromise, her relationship with Onir seems more on the path of love, whether or not they consummate. Respect is there from day one, she does not see Onir as some rich brat, she admires him so much, he can't do any wrong. She has the same romantic bashful moments with Onir that she had with Arjun, when they first started to like each other

So, sub-standard love is okay for Arvi?

For the sake of Pari and Ovi deserving a wonderful man to love her, I wanted Arvi to reunite, but that would be accepting sub-standard love. Ovi should leave Arjun and find a good, strong man. Purvi should stay with Onir, they can both do some more Mahaan work and maybe end up in prison together. Arjun should do whatever, who cares.

Oh, I forgot about Pari. Ovi should give back Pari to Purvi, when she is also leaving Arjun, and tell Purvi, that she is tired of her seconds and charity. She got back her Mother after Purvi had her for 18yrs. She got back Arjun after a deal made with Purvi, now she is getting her baby, after her own baby died. Ovi should go back to Canada and take Only Savita with her and start over her life.

Hey Hilly, very well said. Even I wondered so many times, why everyone wanted Arjun to 'finally' marry Purvi, for definitely something is greatly amiss in this great love story of this century. When I read post after post saying that Arjun shld get Purvi for Purvi is his true love (after slapping her once, of course - I am 😕 ) is that all, just a slap for all that was done to him by his ''so called love'', I am 😕, for my definition of love is so different. Also, I guess, I believe that it is better to be loved than to love only and getting zilch back in return...but, I guess even though I am hardly that old - I am old schooled - so I am terminally 😕 these days...yes, you are right - I guess this is the age of sub-standard love and love that lacks self respect...my POV of course...very well written Hilly...
Btw, am back last night and hoping to catch up on Friday's so talked of episode today 😆
