This is why I have turned over to Ovi, she is real and flawed and I do beleive I disliked her for being spoilt and tantrum-types and also for being so blind as to not see that Arjun loved someone else. But I do blame a part of that psyche on Arjun, not having sat her down and been calm and nice about the breakup. He just broke it on her. she took time to get out of depression and delusions. But now she is shining more than Purvi's fake halo and more than Arjun's pitiable love. She has redeemed herself and I wish the forum that hates her with a vengeance could see that. That is what I mean when I say objectivity, which lacks throughout. :P
This is not to offend anyone, was just putting my point across as to how someone who hated her, loved ARVI and rooted for them, switched over to her side :)
Pari, though I have not turned to Ovi, I agree with you on the rest about Arjun. To me Arjun is the most flawed character of all. For a smart, shrewd businessman, he does no thinking at all. It is all impulse. He agrees to marry Ovi on impulse but later decides to drop her like a hot potato with no talk or explanation. While being betrothed to her, he proceeds to woo Purvi. Has no guts to own up to his love at the party, gets engaged instead to Ovi, leads Ovi up the garden path for a second time, then persists in running after Purvi while being engaged to Ovi, holding on to her arm publicly at that presentation and hounding her with attention while still doing nothing about telling Ovi. Even when Ovi meets him on the street and falls all over him, this after his declaration to Manav about loving Purvi, he still desists from telling Ovi the truth, his words if I remember right for the reason he was moving to the chawl was that he had to do this, for himself. He kisses Purvi on the forehead, acts so indignant that he could be thought to have anything other than pure motives yet when he gets her alone, approaches her twice at that hut even after she has moved away and does what he should not have done. After that night, he still agrees to marry Ovi at Purvi's "insistence" and people justify his behavior by saying he was bemused with Purvi. Really, if that is what love is, messed up just as much as Ovi's is, I would want nothing of it ever. He marries Ovi, goes on to lead the semblance of a normal life, no thinking even of the word divorce or annulment and again because Purvi tells him to has marital relations with his wife. What a sorry excuse! This done, he still imagines his ex-love by his side, poor Arjun, what can he do, his wife is a witch and he was forced into this relationship against his will and Purvi needs to be punished for taking away his happiness. Wife pregnant, he still does not stop, he continues to make moon eyes at his ex-love. No, I definitely would not want him back for Purvi.
Perhaps, Ovi's punishment has been meted out - to live with a man such as this, no backbone, no spine, making sheep's eyes at another man's wife.
In one of my very first posts after Arjun had serenaded Purvi, I had written that he cares not a whit about propriety and Purvi's fate. Turns out I was more than right. What good would have come out of Purvi telling Arjun about the baby (clearly, he has a right to know the result of what he did that night), I doubt he would have left Ovi for Purvi, he would have thought twice about his dad's name and since Ovi was already pregnant with his (hopefully) child, he would have stayed put by his wife's side.
Why wish more ignominy on Purvi? Why wish that she be exposed and pay for something that both, Arjun and she, did? Why take pleasure in seeing her humiliated? because she snatched Arjun's happiness from him? (which he readily let go anyway) Or because Arjun prefers her over Ovi and for that she has to pay? I don't agree with that train of thinking. I am glad she found Onir, I hope she sticks to Onir, baby dhaan or not. None of the Ds really give a hoot about her and she needs to get a life of her own.
Sorry if I offended anybody. I loved Arjun too but he fell from his pedestal, hard and strong to the point of no return. 😕
