So... here's a fan fiction that I wrote on Arvi... LOL, once again... really different - but do leave your feedback on how it is 😊 Sorry the spacing is really weird, idk what's going on 😡
Chapter 1: Roses and Motorcycles
"Good morning pumpkin." the deep voice of Purvi's father took her out of her trance.
Purvi gave him a forced smile in return as the ache in her legs distracted her from everything else.
"Are you ready for the dance performance today?"
"Yeah' um.. about that.." Purvi began.
"Of course she's ready! After all, I've been preparing her." the chirpy, peppy voice of Purvi's mother made Purvi feel like she needed to get out of the house. Now.
"Make sure you make us and Onir proud." her father said, in a stern tone.
Purvi started making her way towards the door, when her mother's voice stopped her.
"Your dance bag." she said, while moving her eyes from Purvi to the dance bag in her hand.
Purvi mumbled a "thanks" and made her way to the college. Passing by the medical department every day was the hardest thing for Purvi to do. It was her dream to help other people by becoming a neurologist. However, her parents wouldn't support her one bit. They wanted her to be the all-American girl, when she wasn't even American! Sure, she didn't get the BEST of grades in high school, but the fact that all her parents cared about was dance. Her mother wanted to be a dancer when she was Purvi's age, however a back injury prevented that from happening. Ever since then, she vowed to make sure that her dreams would still come true, in the form of Purvi.
She finally made her way into the changing room of the dance studio. Purvi changed into an old T-shirt with ease, while she carefully changed from the pants of her salwar to her favorite sweats. She smiled to herself at the comfort that overtook her. After replacing her sandals with tennis shoes and tying her hair into her usual high pony tail, she headed out of the changing room.
Purvi prayed that the cheerleading/gymnastics unit of dance would be over before she knew it. As she saw only a few girls on the dance team come out, she decided to go sit on the bleachers. Purvi sighed as she saw Onir coming near her.
"Hey babe." Onir greeted Purvi as he gave her shoulder a squeeze.
"Hi." Purvi simply replied, getting really fed up with Onir.
"What's wrong beautiful?"
Normally, Onir's sweet words actually meant something to her, but now a days he was as important to her as dance. Another thing forced upon her by her parents.
"Nothing. I'm fine." Purvi said with a forced smile. "Are you coming to the performance tonight?"
"Yeah, about that honey'"
"It's fine. Didn't want you there anyways." Purvi said as she got up with a roll of her eyes. She pretended not to notice Onir coming towards her trying to force another one his excuses down her throat.

The normal 3 hour practice felt like 3 years. Coach yelling, team mates criticizing, with a side of hunger didn't make for a happy Purvi. As she was on her way home, she stopped by the local flower shop. Purvi could defiantly use a sunflower to bring some sunshine back into her life. A smile instantly found a way to her face as she was greeted by a man whom Purvi assumed to be an employee. She felt his gaze on her as she walked up and down the aisles. Right when she was about to ask him what his problem was, he handed her a yellow rose.
"What's this?" Purvi questioned. She looked him up and down. He was handsome, no doubt about that. All black clothing? Now, that was the part that made him seem a little sketchy. Just a little.
"You looked like you were having trouble finding some flowers, so I thought I might get you started' plus it looks like you could use a smile." He said in a deep, husky voice. The kind that sent shivers down the back of Purvi's spine.
Her levels of faith in humanity started to go up. She flashed that big, wide smile of hers that's been hidden away for the past few months. "Thank you." Purvi shyly said, while taking the flower from his hand as a sign of acceptance. "I'm looking for some sunflowers, do you happen to know where they are?
The man gave her a weird look. "Oh um.. I don't work here.." he said with a chuckle that made Purvi feel warm and tingly inside.
Purvi's wide eyes went bigger than normal. "I am so sorry'" she said as she quickly picked up a bouquet and ran to a cashier to avoid any further embarrassment. She quickly checked out her items, as she got a text message from her father telling her to hurry up and get home. Purvi's eyes wandered to the flowers in her hands and wondered what she was going to do with them. She was definatly going to keep the yellow rose as a reminder of the sweet man. The bouquet? Now, that was the problem.
As she was walking, she saw a little girl crying and holding her knee. The next thing that caught Purvi's eye was the scarlet red blood oozing from her knee. She bent down to the girl's level and gave her the bouquet, deciding to thank the man once again in the form of the little girl that sat in front of her.
"Don't cry dear!" Purvi wiped the tears off her face, then ripped her dupatta ' using part of it as a bandage to wrap the girl's wound. "There you go, now it's like nothing even happened." she reassured the girl with a wink and stood back up.
"Thank you!" the girl said loudly while holding on to the bouquet tightly.

When it came to be performance time that night, Purvi developed a case of the nerves. "Just do it Purvi, it'll be over before you know it." she reassured herself.
However, it wasn't over before she knew it. She ended up falling during the high toss. Everyone felt the need to blame her, but she was the one that didn't get caught but her team mates!
"Nice going Purvi, you didn't lose it just for us, but for the whole school!"
"We could have gone to Nationals, you know. All you care about is Onir, get your head in the game!"
"You need to actually work out, no wonder we couldn't catch you."
"Are you gonna go have sex with your boyfriend now to cheer you up?"
Purvi closed her eyes, trying to fight back the tears. She was tired of everything! Whether it be dance, Onir, her family, her school, her teammates ' almost everyone and everything was either against her or irritated her to the point where she'd rather jump off a bridge. Purvi knew that she didn't owe an explanation or a rebuttal to anyone. So, she ran.
On her way, she was stopped by a slightly tipsy Onir.
"Babe, where do you think you're going?" he asked, putting her hand around Purvi's waist and pulling her closer to him.
"Let. Me. Go." Purvi said so sternly that her anger could be sensed through the tone of voice she was using.
"Why so fast baby, the party's just getting started!" Onir smirked and tightened his grip on 'his' girl.
Even when Purvi had slight feelings for Onir, she hated it when he would drink. It turned him into a bigger monster than he already was. A plan of how to escape popped up into Purvi's mind, which led to an internal conflict with herself on whether or not she should execute her 'high-class' plan. Purvi decided for it and kicked Onir between his legs. His cup of alcohol went into the air and ended up spilling all over Purvi. She didn't care ' she felt like she would be through worse by the time this day was over.
He screamed like a girl, which caused Purvi to giggle ' even when she knew it wasn't the right time to laugh. After she was assured that he would be down for a while, she kept going.
She didn't know where she was going, but she ran. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself next to the entrance of a forest and felt an instant sense of tranquility and serenity overtook her. Nature didn't make her feel like this before, the thought of why she possibly felt so safe made her wonder. As she took a second look at her surroundings, Purvi knew that she had never been here before. She didn't even know where she was.
She saw a sign that bore the faded words 'WELCOME TO DARBHANGA'. How was she going to explain to her parents that she ended up in Darbhanga? Purvi's eyes wandered to everything that was in her sight. What she saw was a broken and torn apart city. Broken windows, illegible spray painted words, abandoned stores and houses were what lay further of the forest.
Her shaky hands somehow managed to pull her phone out of her pocket, but as she was going to text her dad, the phone just dropped out of her hands. Purvi bent down to get it, but a masculine pair of hands beat her to it.
Purvi looked up and saw the man's face for a quick second. She could have sworn it was the man from the flower shop. It had to be.
"You're just a teensy bit clumsy, aren't you?" the man said with a chuckle.
When she heard the man's voice, she instantly fell on her bottom due to surprise. When she looked up, Purvi gasped and exclaimed, "AAP?" She watched him stand up and stretch out his hand to making getting up easier for her. Purvi used his hand to help her get up and wiped as much dirt as she could off of her clothes. However, it wasn't an easy task considering the dirt was sticking to her damp salwar.
He handed her the phone back and asked her a simple, "are you ok?"
Before Purvi could take her phone back, the guy put his hand on her shoulder and felt the dampness. He came closer to her and took a whiff of her aura. The smell of alcohol alerted the man's senses.
"Who did this to you?" he asked, in an unflinching tone ' a tone of voice that Purvi hadn't been exposed to. The fact that he knew someone had harmed her signaled butterflies in her stomach and caused her throat to go dry.
"Um.. no it's just' I wasn't watching where I was going and I bumped into someone.." Purvi lied, hoping that the guy wasn't a mind-reader as well.
Purvi's eyes wandered to a girl walking behind the guy and calling out to him.
"Arjun, what are you doing? Hurry up, damn it!" she said, addressing the angel that stood before Purvi as 'Arjun'.
"Arjun.." Purvi whispered to herself, admiring the name. At that moment, she felt him grab onto her hand which she had no objection to. Instead, it gave Purvi a sense of security when she should have been fearing for her life, judging by the city she ended up in.
"Teju, this is'." the guy ' Arjun ' began, then looked at Purvi, signaling her to finish his sentence.
"Purvi Deshmukh!" she said, with a side of too much pep. "Dear God," Purvi thought to herself. "Maybe I am a pep."
The girl ' Teju ' rolled her eyes at Purvi, then shifted her gaze to Arjun. Her actions, for some reason, made Purvi feel uncomfortable, insecure, jealous, and all these other emotions that Purvi had never felt so strongly before. Purvi analyzed Teju up and down. She had beautiful hip-length hair that was tucked behind her in a ponytail. Her brown hair color matched her dark brown eyes which she saw so much inside of. Purvi could already sense how broken this girl was and they were nearly the same age! Purvi took note of how much a location and family could truly make a person. Purvi nonchalantly eyed Teju's raggedy clothing up and down. She had on an oversized plaid shirt which she paired with some old jeans and a pair of sneakers. She knew in an instant that all those pieces belonged to a guy.
Purvi's mind paired Teju and Arjun together. Her angelic eyes looked at Arjun, then at Teju and she realized that is just may be possible that they were a couple. Purvi didn't know why, but for some reason she just wanted to be in Teju's position so badly. She was comfortable in the clothes that she wore, she walked and talked with a stride of confidence, and the best part of all ' she 'had' Arjun.
Teju put her hand on Purvi's shoulder, bringing her back into reality. "What happened to her?" Teju asked Arjun, completely ignoring the fact that the 'her' was right in front of her eyes. As Teju continued to examine her, Arjun looked at Purvi who gave him a pleading look.
"She was at a party and then she got lost and ended up here." Arjun simply said, looking to Purvi who nodded her head in approval. "I was just on my way of taking her home, you know."
Teju rolled her eyes and began to walk away, but suddenly stopped and turned around. Her eyes met Purvi's and Teju said, "don't go to any more of those parties, ok dear?" Purvi nodded her head. Teju then turned to fix her gaze on Arjun and said, "Don't forget to do that' thing afterwards." Arjun nodded as Purvi watched her walk away.
Arjun tightened his grip on Purvi's hand. She looked down at both of their hands and intertwined and realized that he never let go. "Does that mean they're NOT dating?" Purvi asked herself, not expecting an answer back. He started walking in silence, dragging her along. Purvi had another internal conflict with herself on whether she should even trust this guy and go along with him. By the time her fight with herself was over, Arjun had already lead her to which Purvi assumed to be his motorcycle. Her eyes went wide at the thought of being on it.
Purvi watched as Arjun took off the helmet that was sitting on the handle of the bike and hand it to her. "Wear this." he said, with genuine concern in his voice. She just stared at the helmet, which led Arjun to put it over her head for her. He got on the bike and motioned for Purvi to come on as well. However, he knew that being the prep that Purvi was, she'd need some help and getting used to it. Arjun held out his hand and Purvi took it with hesitance. He helped her onto his motorcycle taking note of how light and petite Purvi was.
"Now.." Arjun began, while taking hold of both of her hands this time, "..we go like this." Arjun secured her arms around his waist, sending more shivers down Purvi's spine. As he started the motorcycle, she analyzed Arjun's features from his caramel colored skin down to the little details such as his perfectly chiseled facial structure. As soon as the sound of the engine roaring entered Purvi's eardrums, she tightened her grip on Arjun without knowing it. However, he surely did and smiled to himself because of that one small action.
"I don't want to go home." Purvi said in a low tone to Arjun. At a red light, Arjun turned his head to look at her and saw fear in her eyes.
"Kyun?" he asked after focusing his gaze back onto the road as the light turned green.
"One girl can only take oh so much pep." Purvi said with a little laugh.
They continued to ride in silence, which Purvi couldn't take. She then decided on which topic to bring up as another conversation starter ' Teju or the weather? Purvi's curiosity enabled her to pick Teju as the winning topic and planning her words out carefully.
"Teju," Purvi blurted out, "what's your relation with her?" Unexpectedly, Arjun chuckled giving her that warm, toasty feeling again.
"Have you seen Teju? She's crazy feisty and tough ' I knew when I first saw her fight that she'd be a great addition to the group." Arjun said, clearly not thinking out his words properly. "Group? Did that mean there was more of them? By group did he mean gang?" Questions entered Purvi's mind in a second, she was unable to process them, however she wanted an explanation.
"Gggrouppp? Maaatlabbb?" Purvi asked, while her teeth were chattering from the cold.
At a red light, Arjun quickly took off his signature leather jacket and twisted around to put it on Purvi.
"Iiit's fiiine.." Purvi began, but Arjun insisted on her wearing it.
When the light turned green, Arjun proceeded on ' completely avoiding Purvi's earlier question.
"So, what really happened tonight?" Arjun asked, his anger building up again.
Purvi sighed and spat out, "long story." She hoped that Arjun would just stop there, but of course, he did the opposite.
"I have time."
"Okay, well I had a dance competition."
"Mmm.."
"What?"
"I thought you would be a cheerleader."
"We're doing a cheer/gymnastics unit."
"There it is."
Purvi giggled and continued with, "the girls on the team don't like me."
"I'm sure that's not true."
"Then why did they purposely drop me on the high toss, then criticize me for something that isn't my fault?"
"Maybe they're jealous that they can't be as great as you."
Purvi smiled to herself and silently thanked God that it was dark out and that Arjun couldn't see the hues of crimson red building up on her cheeks. "I doubt it's the 'great as you' part."
"Why?"
"Well' don't call me stuck up or conceited or anything, but I think they're only jealous because of Onir."
"Who's Onir?"
Purvi bit her lip and debated on whether she should tell Arjun about her relationship status. She sighed and said, "my boyfriend," in a low tone. "It doesn't even feel like we're dating though and I'm planning on ending things soon." she quickly said to emphasize that she's single. Or will be, at least.
Arjun stopped the motorcycle in front of my house. "This is where you live right?"
"Um.. yeah." Purvi sadly jumped off the motorcycle, but before she could even say goodbye ' he sped off. "Well.. he did have the important thing to do." Purvi said to herself.
As Purvi made her way up to the doorstep, she was scared to knock. However, her dad was already waiting for her.
"How was the party?" her father asked ' seeming not at all affected by tonight.
"Kya?" Purvi asked, trying not to sound as confused due to the fact that this 'party' thing could save her.
"The after party that Onir hosted? He told me you were going."
That explained the drunk Onir she ran into. She silently thanked God for her slow running abilities, for that was the reason why she ran into Onir by the time the party was in full swing. "Oh yeah! It was a blast' we all forgot about the competition." Purvi said, lying through her teeth.
"I didn't forget about it." Purvi heard her mom say with sadness from the house. Purvi rolled her eyes and walked inside. She quickly ran to her room and jumped onto her bed. She instantly dozed off, while wearing Arjun's jacket. The smell of his cologne that lingered on it acted as a lullaby and quickly put her to sleep.
