And people who still think she's awesome are awesomely delusional.

Please look around you berfore calling others delusional.
There are many women in their 50s living in metros who wear such clothes. Maybe you dont choose to see!

otherwise u never know , she may be paired opposite to siddharth jadhav or makrand anaspure 🤣🤣🤣

Whatever Ankita will chose to do, is her prorogative.
Whoever she is paired with is also not in anyone's hands now.
Whatever ill will you have against her will not do any harm to her as it is not you who decides her future!

there are many ators who play chrcters above their age
i know anki is not comfy, and i totally agree
she shld have quitted befre, and if she wants to leave the show
leave it gracefully na
i am not saying grey ur hair etc
but wear sarees, she used to do it berfe na

Archana wore such dresses 18 years ago because she belonged to a lower middleclass famliy of a certain social setup.
18 years have passed on in PR. Now they are well-off. Manav has move on to better suits. So cant she choose to be modern now. What prevents her?

Was just considering some of Ekta's and other shows into account..

First of all , I dont see a single grey strand in the ladies playing much more older role like Savita, Sulochana. Manav himself doesnt have a single grey strand and that's exactly Hiten's age , he as well i dont think looks like Teju's or Ovi's dad but may be better hen compared to Ankita as he is aged than her otherwise their is no extra change in his make up or anything to make him look old or as a dad of Ovi, Teju, Soham. Probably its just the man playing DK who looks exactly of the age of Rithvik's father..

The one playing Varsha, Savita , Sulochana, Manav , Vinod, Manjusha none seem to have made any effort to look even more older as leap happened why alone should Ankita be made to look old?
Rule follows to all i guess or doesnt it here..

And about Ankita being professional or committed or whatever , she is far more committed and professional than some of the actresses that we have currently.
People refuse to sport a baby bump these days let alone play such aged roles, and they are always high on make up be it any circumstance ..
The scenes that i still remember when Manav gets kidnapped and she looses her first baby, the scattered hairs and the zombie look, the undressed look that Ankita portrayed very few do that these days.

She is a good actress, im glad she is out of this show for good.
Just waiting to watch her more in roles that suit her acting calibre and may she also get to grow as an actor..

Isn't this show technically in 2024 now? We are expecting people in that year to be in saree with grey hairs? I have seen chawl people who dress up like this infact with much better clothes. t I kind of feel offended how here few are passing judgement on chawl people won't be wearing nice clothes like salwar kameez types.

Savita, Sulochana, Varsha, Vandita, Vaishali, Manav, Vinod have grey hairs with sober look, clothes in this show then that is news to me as far as I see none of them look like that nor anyone behave like that!

I would really appreciate if actors do choose to do like getting grey hairs to be in character but I don't see anyone is television like that expect for Varun maybe he is one such actor who dresses according to his character sketch. I remember once Ushaji saying how she requests production people to give nice sarees and jewellery to wear as she doesn't feel nice to wear old clothes so does that mean even Ushaji is throwing tantrums?

this is a great post...and says it so well. Ankita never refused to play parts in PR that made her look sick, despairing, broken. ..and she did it so well. She has my greatest respect.

Maybe just maybe these who are so unhappy with Archana looking young, will finally get the idea that people over 50 aren't on their way to the grave. That people over 50 don't need to be
decrepit old ladies (or men) sporting grey hairs and canes and dress in depressing clothes?

Grandmas WAY older than in their 50's wear stylish clothes because they feel good about themselves. So, if Anki can make a statement about this utterly ridiculous mindset - that age equals dowdy dark and dreary - more power to her.

i dont think when the show started she dressed like a behenji. she was beautiful in a wonderful way where there was no overdose of makeup and no wardrobe overload for the audience,
yes she is the wife of a millionaire but HEY, they are living in a chawl cause paisa is nothing for them. I dont mean to say get rid of your beautiful sarees and stuff, but take in mind the occassions in the storyline.
i think the director is superbly blind or just horribly ignorant of what is happening and it is Archana we are talking about not ankita. Archana is someone who believed(Past tense now) in simplicity and looked gorgeous in the simplest clothes. what i see in PR now is a 50yr old wannabe and yes, pretentitous too with her dressing sense.
Fans know she is 20+ something, if she dresses a lil moderatly wont make people start calling her aunty ji! ugh.

Someone here rightly said that people change over time, become more modern. Here the show has taken a 20 yr leap and the characters have changed bcos of that.
I personally don't find Archana wearing suits very out of place or impossible. I have seen a lot of Aunties around me who used to wear only sarees with pallus over their heads for a lot of years after marriage, then gradually moved on to sarees without pallus on heads, then salwar suits as they formed a more comfortable rapport with their family, particularly in laws and their equation became less stringent OR they started living separately. Many times the children encourage their parents to move on to more modern wear, as in my mother's case- I and my sister-father pushed my Mom to start wearing suits again when we were teenagers. I have also seen old Aunties who wore jeans when their children move abroad.
So yes, even though I would have preferred those cotton sarees that she wore earlier for the sake of continuity (she looked beautiful in them!) yet I dont think this scenario is in anyway impossible.
@Lunza: I loved your post twino!
