Jhanvi, I'll admit right away that I havent been in the forum in a while so I may have missed somethings. But can you honestly see the difference in the number of threads opened per day supporting Arjun and purvi, and the number of people supporting them and compare that number to those that support ovi. I can count that last number on one hand probably. You'll find the same few people trying to convey the unpopular POV, and while I count myself in that number, I have maintained from the start that all three are equally to blame for the current mess. And from understanding the other posts with the same POV as mine, even Sherma's in the opening post, you can see that it doesn't paint ovi as a saint. Instead it is defending ovi as not being as bad as she is made out to be by a majority of the forum. Can you honestly say that there isnt a much higher percentage of posts and people that vilify ovi mainly because she came in between Arjun and purvi, when Arjun and purvi themselves are at least as much at fault but are forgiven since they're the favorites and supposed to be in love?
Then why constantly ask how the few people that defend ovi can do so when there are so many that fiercely protect the equally to blame Arjun and purvi? This is not just to you, but the forum in general, so p,ease don't take it personally.
Sowmya, I have not been frequenting the forum lately but every time I have logged on I have seen Arjun and Purvi bashing posts more so than Ovi bashing ones. So maybe our perspectives are different? Also, I think that if people fiercely protect Arjun and Purvi that is not the same as bashing Ovi. Similarly if people like Ovi's character and find reasons to justify her behavior but do not bash Purvi or Arjun, that is perfectly understandable too.
No, I will not take your post personally because I like you have always held that all three are responsible for the quandary they find themselves in (I even wrote a post titled "tarred with the same brush" where I held all 3 guilty), I may not agree with you on the degree of guilt and may hold Ovi more responsible than the others but in my mind it is clear that the three of them contributed to this murky mess they are wallowing in. Have been tempted to say serve them right, have also been tempted to take the elders to task, DK, Archana, Manav mainly for letting all this slide by as if it were no big deal. They are portrayed as ideal parents on the show but what terrible parents they would make in real life, I shudder to think.
No, I am not baffled that Ovi is defended, I am perplexed by how one can find Ovi totally innocent of all wrong doing. Looking at her objectively just as a character independent of ARVI, yes, she may be more believable than the mahaan Archana or even the sanskari Purvi who are caricatures almost and the epitome of all that is good. But by the same token, to make Ovi appear like an unsullied angel does not cut it especially if we have to admit that she is interesting and human because she has shades of the negative in her - jealousy, selfishness, insecurity, these are all qualities that make us human and these are all to be found in Ovi. To deny them altogether does not make sense to me, regardless of whether her behavior is justifiable. If it is normal for a wife (however wrongly she acquired the title) to feel jealous, if it is believable for a girl in love to want the guy at all costs, if it is understandable for a girl to dislike her mother for "abandoning" her, let us also admit that the girl is human and not perfect, that is all I am saying. A perfect being would be beyond these quote unquote normal human emotions, she would be beyond jealousy, selfishness, insecurity.
We cannot have it both ways, Ovi the normal human being and Ovi the angel. To me, Ovi is flawed, some may admire or justify her flaws, I simply don't like her character. I understand same goes for Purvi, some may like her, flaws and all, some may abhor them. I haven't seen anyone making Purvi out to be perfect or an angel, her fans may justify her actions just like others justify Ovi's behavior, but they do hold her responsible for this mess she finds herself in.
