It is so sad that I started off really liking Archana and Purvi too. They had such strong personalities and a sensible head on their shoulders before. Archana in the start of the show and Purvi in the start of the leap. However, CV's have reduced both of them to be foolish in the name of being mahaan. They have only ruined their own lives and butchered the happiness of other's around them in the name of love and sacrifice. Today's modern woman or even a regular demure middle class girl is no where close to these two supremely one-track minded women. They are super selfish in achieving their heights of greatness, but for some reason the show tries to portray these acts as being mahaan and people feel sorry for these women. I for one, have no sympathy for people like these both who think that their loved ones are like puppets in their hands, dancing to the tunes they decide to play based on their needs and wants. Archana has treated Manav like a puppet in the past and then her kids, esp Sachin and Soham, and Purvi has treated Arjun like a puppet. It is a different thing, that men in this show are absolutely under some blind spell of love and hence lose their spines and thinking powers when confronted with super ideas by their beautiful lovers.
But clearly, I am saddened by what the Cv's have done to two strong and lead characters of the show that I once loved. Purvi just proved to be the biggest idiot today by claiming to have let go of arjun in the name fo sacrifice for her sister;s happiness. We, as viewers are always made fools by these Cv's who create contradictory dialogues and tracks and like someone said, my opinion keeps fluctuating from episode to episode thanks to the sudden new developments in the character's brain and thinking.
There is enough drama and suspense to include in a show without making the women look like fools and from the 10th century, mahaanta is not something that is looked up at anymore. In the new world, it is only considered foolish, if done with a one-track mind sacrificing your loved one's happiness for your place in heaven.
