Chapter 10: New Thoughts
March 29^th, 2012: ADK Industries, 9:00 p.m.
Okay, so I made her run around a little. Okay, a lot. But that was 2 days ago! I was a whole day younger'. That doesn't mean that she acts like nothing really happened. I mean I made her mad'I knew it, but why wasn't she acting so? Right. When she got back, I only had the longest lecture on the importance of mirrors. I forgot. She did irritate me well though yesterday. On the other hand, my disorganization has reached new levels.
Arjun: Miss Deshmukh!
Purvi: *walks in* Hmm?
Arjun: Where's the file you picked up yesterday?
Purvi: Well' considering that situation, it WAS on the corner of your desk, but I may be wrong. *moves Arjun aside and starts DIGGING through the TOP of his desk.*
Arjun: Find it?
Purvi: *sarcastic* No. Actually, I get that feeling that it grew legs and ran away.
Arjun: Miss Deshmukh, please be serious.
Purvi: Found it! *hands it to him* Anything else before I get back to working on those presentations for you?
Arjun: No' I don't think so. Wait, I have to sign these. *gestures towards the file* What's the date?
Purvi: *He works in this big of a company and can't even remember the date???* Um, March 29^th, 2012.
Arjun: *talks while writing* '.march'. 29^th'. Wait.
Purvi: *raises an eyebrow* Um?
Arjun: *breathes a sarcastic breath and mumbles* I promised Riya'
Purvi: What?
Arjun: Uh, are you' um'
Purvi: Am I'.?
Arjun: Are you free' tomorrow?
Purvi: Um, I CAN be free' any reason?
Arjun: Well, Riya and my friends have organized a little'. Party for MY boss's birthday, and apparently, they would like it if you met him and hang around a while.
Purvi: *awkwardly* Um, yeah' What time?
Arjun: Five to seven. You'll only miss two hours of your day. Are you good with that?
Purvi: *awkwardly* That's completely fine' sir. *office phone rings* Um.. I'll get that.
Arjun: Kay.
That was weird'. Anyhow, I got through it. Now, I just have to go pick up Nikhil tomorrow morning, make sure I'. Wait' what? Crap! It's all tomorrow! *sarcastically* Did we not establish that Arjun?

March 30^th, 2012: 8:20 a.m., Mumbai International Airport
Where the heck is he? His flight landed at 8:00, and I've been waiting here for 20 minutes. I don't technically have all day. You know what? Let's call him. *dials and looks up*
Nikhil: Arjun!
Arjun: *cuts phone: Seriously, right when I'* Nik! Where were you?
Nikhil: Okay, so you won't believe this, but outside the baggage claim'.
Arjun: *zones out while Nikhil keeps going: Believe me, Nik. I can believe it.*
Nikhil: And she's from London! I got her number, too! She's here for'
Arjun: Yeah, yeah that's all fine. Shouldn't we get going?
Nikhil: Get going' where?
Arjun: To my home? You do realize that you're standing in the sidewalk trying to catch me up on just about everything, right?
Nikhil: Okay' so? I'm in no rush.
Arjun: Yeah, you are.
Nikhil: What? Who said'
Arjun: I did, now let's go.
Before I let him blabber on about how many girls' numbers he managed to get in 20 minutes (trust me, a lot) I grabbed his bag and walked off knowing he followed suit.
Arjun: *in the car* Okay, so this is how today will look. We go home, and you clean yourself up. Then we go to the office, sit through a brief meeting, and then go back home and get ready.
Nikhil: Um' no. Yaar, I didn't come here to congratulate you by sitting through your meetings. You can do that while I stay at home and clean out your fridge. ;)
Arjun: But'
Nikhil: No ifs, and no buts. You know my stomach's capacity. If I eat now, I won't look like a horrible pig at the party. I'll seem more'
Arjun: Is sane the word you're looking for?
Nikhil: I was thinking sophisticated for Manav uncle, but for you, maybe.
Arjun: Look, you know that after what happened'
Nikhil: Right'
Arjun: I still want my role model to accept you.
Nikhil: Exactly. I still feel bad, which is why for you'you and only you my dear friend Arjun, I am adamant on making sure that Manav uncle accepts me. What happened though wasn't bad, just mortifying'.
Arjun: *sarcastically* Yeah, we only ruined so many relationships within the Deshmukh family. Nothing bad happened.
Nikhil: But, Manav uncle'
Arjun: Forget it. Nikhil, the only reason I want him to accept you is because we both played an equal part in what happened. If Manav uncle accepts me, then he will accept you, bottom line.
Nikhil: Got it. *holds out his hand* Mission?
Arjun: Mission. *shakes hands with Nikhil*

Teju: So Baba, are you free by any chance for a couple hours later today?
Manav: *looks up confused* Haan, Tej. Why?
Teju: Well um'. because Dada has proved repeatedly that my mouth does run a lot' so I also realized that that's why I make friends so fast.
Manav: And'.?
Teju: We're having a little'. get together today, and they wanted our' parents to socialize. *Yeah, that sounds good.*
Manav: Okay.
Teju: Yay! Thank you Baba.
Manav: Mhmm. What's the date? I need to sign some papers.
Teju: Um' the 30^th?
Manav: Okay.
Did Baba forget his own birthday or what?

March 30^th, 2012: Karanjkar Residence, 4:00 p.m.
Seher: *walks in* Tai? Are you going anywhere special? That too on your day off?
Purvi: Mhmm. Sadly. You know that the office can't function without me right? *smiles*
Seher: Really?
Purvi: No, I'm joking. We're having a little corporate party. I'll be gone for just a while.
Seher: Oh'
Soham: So my sister's been working for her new boss for under a week and already has such great importance at her office?
Purvi: Haan. Kyun Nahin? Can't women have such great power or what?
Archana: *walks in* I was thinking along those lines Purvi. Right Seher?
Seher: Hmm.
Soham: I never said that! They overpower me at home itself, why not anywhere else?
Archana: *smiles* That's probably because you're the only guy at home.
Soham: I need some man time'
Purvi: *holds back a laugh*
Archana: Purvi beta, you won't be long right?
Purvi: I probably won't. Kyun?
Archana: When you come back, we need to do a pooja.
Seher: Kyun?
Purvi: *lifts up Seher* Kyunki aaj ek khaas din hain.
Soham: Haan.
Seher: Okay'
Archana: Purvi, can I talk to you?
Purvi: *shakes her head and walk out with her Aai* Kya hua Aai?
Archana: Should we tell Seher'.?
Purvi: I don't think so. Anyways she hasn't asked. Voh kush toh hai na? So then why degrade it in any way? Soham and I understand why you do the pooja every year at this time, and that's enough.
Archana: Okay, beta. Be safe on your way there, ha.
Purvi: I will, Aai. Tum chinta maat kar, hmm?
Archana: *smiles* Theek hain. Jao.
Purvi: Bye.
Precap: Purvi arrives at the party and has brief conversation with Riya. Arjun can't find Nikhil, and Tej gives Manav a big surprise.

So what happens next??? Who exactly will Purvi bump into and recognize at the party? Who makes who mad? Who makes who sad? The next chapter will be long and full of drama! Enjoy it? Like and comment!!!! :) :) :)
