Shyamala,
Looks like I am late to the thread today !! All have been said that needs to be said and discussed. But, still, i will give my take on this anyway..

As always, a great analysis from you, Shyamala. But, for once, I fervently and sincerely hope, that your prediction of doom is wrong, and am sure, you would like that to happen too, however a remote chance.

For once, Ms.Ovi did not let me down. I had no false illusions that she would turn a leaf, and did exactly what I had expected of her. At least she is consistent if nothing. For all those who had criticized, commented and berated us for calling Ovi a delusional, crazy chic who needs psyc evaluatoin, I just have one thing to say.. Here you go, this is the real Ovi Deshmukh, as crazy, conniving, delusional as you can get.

I actually liked the car scene, not for the silliness of Purvi being upset with a neighbor's comments, but for seeing Arjun, the way he is, and always been. A lively, loving, confident, dont care attitude guy, who doesnt care two cents for what others think, and does what he wants to do. Ms. Purvi has a lot to learn from him, well, ofcourse, if she is around..

I am amazed at how low the intelligence of Purvi has fallen that she takes Ovi's words at face value, even after she mentioned "Ovi's Arjun"..Didnt she recall that the same person tried to bribe her for Arjun. How can she believe that Ovi is all ready to embrace her mother after all that she has said and done. Archana had herself told her the state she lives in at the D house. And why did it not occur to doubt what she is being told? Can she not see a emotional blackmail when she sees one? has her brain gone down the drain? You are so right, Ovi played Purvi exactly the way she wanted and got exactly the reaction that she wanted too.
I am not going to go into all the details as it has all been covered so well by you already.

The pre-cap obviously is not a reality, more a figment of our dear Purvi's fertile imagination. Seeing the expression on her face, made me want to smack her to wake her up, so she can smell the roses, as they say.

Anyway, yes, she is caught in a dilemma, between her blind devotion to see her mother's happiness, and the love of her life on the other. I will excuse her wavering, provided, I see
her give thought to Arjun also in the process. I expect her to show it to Ms. Ovi, by standing by her man, and marrying him.

In all this, my heart, as always, goes out to Arjun. For if she does this stupid sacrifice, he will be the ultimate fool, for loving this chit of a girl, for whom, he is so low on her priorities, that she has not given even a thought to him before deciding to do so. Shyamala, has always been right. She has never loved him like he does to her. She was always the loved one. She will never have the same intensity, fervor that he has in him for her. But, she has also unwaveringly promised him
to never leave him. I hope she remembers all this, while she remembers her Aai, in the next 48 hrs of Ms.Ovi's deadline.

Inspite of all that I know may have a strong possibility of happening, the foolish romantic that I am, I still have a glimmer of hope that Purvi will not let Arjun down. It is probably a wishful thinking on my part, But, I think that during this process, if we have the bridge scene from the SBB segment, where Arjun talks about his mother, I am sure there is a strong emotional factor there that should pull Purvi back to the fold. Unlike some, I do not want anyone to influence her decision to stick by Arjun, it has to be hers and hers alone. I do not want to see Arjun, Archana convince her.. for gods sake.. why do we want that??? She needs to do it for Arjun, all by herself.. That is probably a tall order, but that is what I want.. No harm in asking for the ultimate, is there..

If not, then God save Arjun !! For, it is all down hill for him from here..

If Arjun even gets a wiff of Purvi's thoughts of giving him up for her Aai, that is enough to break his heart and put a mar on their relationship. If what Arjun has done for Purvi so far, is not enough to hold her to him, then what else will be? Any other reunion after this, is never going to be the same. For me, at least, it will always be a patched up relationship. Where is the guarantee for him, that in case of another issue like this, Purvi wont leave him again. Knowing the D-Family, it is bound to happen !! There is her long lost Soham dada already in line..

I have always loved Arjun Purvi , for, I believed that their relationship and love is unique, different and strong and not the mill of the grind. If they separate now, then that is what it becomes. I do not have any interest or inclination in seeing it go down the drain that way. For, it defies everything that I have always believed of them. It will then be time for me to say, Adios, PR..
Why should i subject myself to this emotional roller coaster, day in and day out, for this kind of a couple if they are not what I believe of them? I might as well watch the wooden faces of Rab ne banaa di jodi, or the recent embryo transplant in hitler didi, or even the ridiculous phir subah hogi, or maybe the much light hearted, SSLPK.( I only have Zee on tv, hence the choices )..It would not make a difference...

As always shymalaji - good job in analyzing the show today. I must say, wanted to read your analysis first before watching the show and the read was much much better than the show itself.

I would like to mention my fave scene today that Purvi enacted sooo well! That is when Ovi puts forward the deal about Arjun... Her first reaction was like as if her own life was being asked of her... Was so beautifully done by Purvi. She looked so lifeless as if her breath was knocked out of her :( which indeed is true, Ovi did ask for Purvi's life in return for her mom's happiness.

I also think the precap is a dream... purvi looked lovely! Like the Mrs. AK :)

I am in with you.. also in positive mode.. bcoz it seems everybody has become conclusive.. that Purvi will sacrifice.. which I think the CV's wanted that why so much emotional blackmailing..they have previously given us such situations and completly turned opposite esp wen OVi slapped Purvi but after that thr was completly 180 turn and we got our ARVI back.. so thats how drama works.. i seriuly dont know how ARMAN lovers manage.. bcoz they were always separated and much much more emotionally blackmailed.. here we dont know Purvi's decision yet.. but thr they were 100% sure that both will sacrifice.. but I have hope that she wont go that way(90% sure- 10% CVs butchering the character).. and it would be her decision.. from me it comes from the fact when she did talk 2 her mother after the meeting with OVi .. there was not an iota of thinking..of sacrificing.. she was like i am leaving.. what will happen to you ,plz fulfill my wish before i get married.. and I know .. she sure wants her moms happiness and will do anything for that.. but Arjun is not a thing... I expect tooo much.. but I would love if she calls OVi to the mandap.. and marries Arjun in front of the whole family...

Janhvi,

Thanks a lot. I edited it later to incorporate the 'pre-cap is Purvi's dream' idea of Namita, Jai and Ash, but as I have noted, despite that, the damage has been done, and Purvi can now NEVER have any unclouded happiness in her marriage to Arjun knowing that by this one act, she has, as she believes 200%, deprived Archana of her most heartfelt desire.

I do not blame her; it is an impossible situation for the poor girl, and Ovi is masterly in the way she manipulates Purvi's emotions and exploits her one major weakness. I am not given to praising my own writing, but I was pleased with the way the section Ovi plays her cards has come out.

All of us who want Purvi to defy Ovi and go ahead with the wedding forget that i t will not be happiness she will be gaining, but a Dead Sea fruit, jo nigale bhi nahin banta aur thooke bhi nahin banta (which she can neither swallow nor spit out). The conviction that she has sacrificed Archana's happiness and emotionally secure future to gain her own would always fester at the back of her mind. She would be perennially distraught, and she would drive Arjun round the bend in the process. We saw a trailer of that yesterday, when she assures him that she too is happy with their marriage (what an assurance for a bride to have to give on the eve of her wedding!), and he says Then smile!

It would have been very different if Purvi had not known about Ovi's offer. After having tried her best to stop it, she was obviously reconciled to the divorce, for she did not file the affidavit. But now she does know, and that has turned everything upside down for her. I personally think that she is going to bolt, but I cannot see quite what she will actually do.

The one person who deserves our unstinting sympathy is poor Arjun. Did you like the bit about the triple mortgaged house?

As for the contrast between Ovi and Purvi, if I were to say that the difference was in their genes, I would be in trouble, so I shall desist!

Acting-wise, I thought Shruti was very competent today, especially the expression on her face as she crosses the road towards Purvi, and as she looks around at the decorations and tells Purvi that she must be very happy now. He face gets easily distorted when she projects strong emotions, poor girl, but she did her best yesterday, and she was good. Playing a negative character convincingly also calls for applause, though the palm in that category would go, without any question, to Vishnu.

Finally, Janhvi, the thulabhaaram concept is so 'just right'. Perfect, in fact. What wonderful words we have in our culture!

I was impatient to see what you would have to say and as usual a splendid rendering! I was hoping that perhaps all hope was not lost but reading your post tells me that this time around Ovi has struck gold. She is something else that girl, she is obsessed, delusional, and fixated on Arjun. She wants him at all costs.

What a marked contrast between Archana's two daughters, one would be willing to give up her life's happiness for her aai's sake and the other wants to use her aai as a negotiating tool. Strangely, Ovi seems to view both Archana and Arjun as commodities to be bartered, she is pitting them one against the other on the scale (thulabaarum). Just depends on which side of the scale tips for Purvi, there is no guessing required as Aai and her happiness will win hands down for her. Ovi came across as selfish and self-centered today, wanting a guy bad enough may be understood, resorting to underhand means to get him is very telling on the character. She disappointed today, majorly.

Shyamala Aunty - I really do want to be like you when I grow up 😃

You have an keen eye for discerning the obscure and a finesse for making your observations palatable and convincing. You are my rockstar ⭐️

I hurriedly watched this episode online today and it was as I expected. I appreciated Ovi's subtle malevolence towards Purvi and Archana (Shruti did a fantastic job on her role) and her ability to turn a phrase - meri Arjun and meri aai who sacrificed her 18 years of happiness for you - all masterful parries to which Purvi has yet to give a befitting reply.

As I watched it again tonight on the telly, I couldn't help but wonder just what Purvi would do. She seems a smart girl that loves her aai more than anything and would trade all her happiness in the world to give her her family back but there was a picayune feeling lingering in the back of my mind (yes,it can be chalked up to foolish hope too 😆)

That feeling was (drumroll please...😆) - Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. (Yes, my mind works in mysterious ways 🤣)

Purvi will find a way not only to give Ovi what she wants but to make it work in her own favour.

Purvi loves her mother but she is also not willing to give up on Arjun. If she agrees to Ovi's plan, she would have neither (if the bargain is fulfilled) so its a no win situation for her. If all goes true to course and she shares this with Arjun then they can work this out in the best way for all concerned.

I maybe saddened along with the rest of the romantics in the forum if the CVs take Purvi's character in the opposite direction but, for now, I am going to give her the benefit of the doubt that she will not compromise her Arjun for Ovi.

A fool's paradise - I know - but it's nice out here... white, sandy beaches... 😆
