I had watched the Friday episode last night on TV here, as that is when friday episode is telecast for us.
Something funny for me, this time I focussed completely on Purvi in the dance, 😊.. ( a challenge for me, as you know :)), and was LOL all along as I was recalling every sentence of Shyamla's post about Purvi !! I havent changed my mind about the dance though..One thing I noticed in Manav's talk with Archana, and something struck me. When he talks about Ovi, he never ever said so far that Arjun doesnt love Ovi, so she should not even think about him. He said once before that Arjun is not a fit ladka for her , but that is not the same. He just says "Arjun shouldnt have come to India, else Ovi would be happy"...Isnt that strange that he is saying this even now. I understand why he is saying but he should have moved beyond that opinion by now. A little bit of Ovi in him???Manav's reactions are always confusing to me. Seems very balanced, matured sometimes, and other times he is a confused person totally.. The CV's are making a mess of his character... Poor Hiten, such a wonderful actor, stuck in this Naya Manav mold...

Briefly on today's episode:
1. Continuation of yesterday's shopping trip for Arjun - Purvi.. some dialogues about talking to each other freely, sharing things etc, Ms. Purvi says that is how married couples should be. hmmm...Let us see how much you share with Arjun about your soham dada in the future.. You need to walk the walk, not just talk the talk...:)2. Vishnu - Maayi at the mall.. Silly dialgoues with the cop, escalator nonsense, city malls etc.. nothing impressive there...3. Arjun - Vishnu face off !! That perked me up a little bit.. Arjun talks tough guy.. about bashing up Vishnu...😊... would have loved to see a sample... candian dude vs bihari goonda..that would have been fun.Arjun's anger and hatred for Vishnu is very obvious.. Vishnu, as always, is his cocky self.. Net result, now we know for sure what is going to cause issues between Arjun and Purvi in the future... after the wedding ...probably4. Varsha sees Purvi in the mall, gifts her a saree, under the palloo...her whole explaination was so silly..5. BTW, is the blue saree, Varsha's gift, the corporate dance one? It seems familiar 😃..6. Archana tells Purvi about Varsha, takes some of the blame on the tragedy and has her usual crying jag. Purvi melts into a puddle and is all set to give all happiness to her Aai. Now, that is sure to worry us.. To what extent.. you wonder...Vsihnu is already "Soham dada" now for Purvi !! Even Teju and Ovi didnt call him that when they saw the pic. Our Sanskari Purvi jumps at this new relationship ...Just when I thought, here comes the sacrifice, she goes to talk to Manav. didnt understand if he came to see her or she went to see him..anyway, doesnt matter. Why is this Purvi begging Manav for her Aai? Such a stupid move on her part. She starts off with that hero worship look on her face, and goes on about baba nonsense, annoyed me the most.Well, nothing came of all the pleading to stop the divorce... Oh yeah, Manav yells at Purvi for no reason.. took out his anger on the wrong person.. very immature of him, again...So, stale mate again... after monday too..Only new development, a new montage out with Arjun-Purvi in wedding finery with Archana on their side, and Ovi on her other side, a little farther off. So, looks like CC is just down a little, not out yet !!Oh yeah, forgot about the gajra scene... see, how significant it was... 😊

@blue. Of course it was NOT the same, Jyothi. It is much darker than the very pretty Pune one, plus it has booties all over it. Jyothi, how COULD you?
@red. She forces him to come to the Karanjkar chawl, for he says that he came because otherwise she would have turned up at his place.

No, Jyothi, You feel this way because you are, like most of us, fixated only on Arjun and Purvi and want everyone else to get out of the way. Try putting yourself in Manav's shoes, with Ovi's condition showing no signs of improvement, in fact the reverse. His face in the Friday episode was ravaged with anxiety and despair.
He still thinks that Arjun has trifled with Ovi and driven her to this state. He cannot be expected to think otherwise when neither Arjun nor DK has explained the sequence of events to him. Purvi might have problems doing it, but either of the others could and should have done it. But he is also unhappily aware that Ovi is probably never going to get over her obsession with Arjun.
Given all this, what is wrong with his wishing out loud, when he is at his wits' end and worn out with worry, that Arjun had never come to India and met Purvi? It is the most natural thing to wish for, and I am sure that if Arjun had married Ovi as planned, they would have been perfectly comfortable together, as she would have made no demands on him (If DK had not filled her head with all that nonsense about Arjun having come to love her, she would be much less hyper even now).
All this talk about the wonder and magic of love is very fine in theory, but most of the suffering in relationships comes precisely from love, both in literature and in real life. No wonder many prefer peace of mind and stability to raptures followed by assorted miseries. That is why the arranged marriage is alive and thriving even among educated professionals in India.
Secondly, Purvi gets on Manav's nerves big time, and I can see why. She never lets go of the 'baba' stuff and invariably stuffs her adoration for him down his throat. I have written enough about this in recent posts, but today, she surpasses herself. She forces him to come and see her at the Karanjkar chawl; he says specifically that he came since otherwise she would have come to his place, which would obviously been worse for him.
Next, there is all that spiel about his pyaar and his aashirwaad, and how she missed a father's love and found out what a 'baba' was like only when she met him. It is idiotic, as you have yourself pointed out, and also intensely irritating for Manav.
If he had not been a basically kind person, he would have pointed out that he is not her baba, and that she is not his daughter or even like his daughter. Shukar manao ki aise nahin kaha! (Be thankful that he did not say that!) Jyothi, unwanted demonstrativeness, when it is never ending, does not inspire gentleness and compassion. It produces only acute irritation.
When he pins her down on her aai's negative attitude towards any attempt from his side to improve their relationship, she has to concede that she has been unable to make any impact on Archana re: the divorce. But Purvi does not let things rest there,oh no, not she! She starts again to press him to say 'no' to the divorce in court, and that is when he snaps back at her.
Even then it is only about his wanting to have the divorce over and done with. He does not, as I would have done, tell her to stay out of things that are not her business and to take herself off. So, I feel that he was more forbearing with Purvi than I would have expected, or that Purvi deserved for her ill-advised pressure tactics.
If she does get married to Arjun and then harangues him in this fashion about taking Soham dada aka Vishnu to his bosom, he might not be very understanding either. I have always felt that Arjun was being shortchanged in this relationship, and I think that this is going to become even clearer pretty soon.
Being " more loved than loving" is all very well for the one lucky enough to get it, like Purvi. Not for the other party. There is a Tamil proverb that goes as follows: The dhobi is in love with the dhoban, but the dhoban is in love with the donkey. I leave it to your imagination who the donkey will be in PR.
I do not watch the SBS segments, but even if I had seen the latest, I do not think it would have bothered me in the slightest. Arjun is heading for trouble even if the marriage goes ahead as planned. His wife will have her own list of priorities, and I do not think that he will ever be at the top of that list, or even the second or the third. One day he will come to realise that. The "they lived happily ever after" is only in fairy tales. Ever wondered why they all stop with the prince marrying the princess (or the beggar maid)?
In today's episode, the only (and that too only barely) tolerable part was the snarling match between Vishnu and Arjun, in which the latter comes out on top, Arjun's bluster notwithstanding. I did not like the way Arjun talked of 'dehatis' (rural people) being like kutte, who never learnt from beatings. It showed an unpleasant streak of city slicker snobbishness that one would not have expected from the 'new Arjun', for whom he is always giving credit to Purvi. Apparently the make over is still a bit patchy.
The beginning of the gajra scene today was exactly like the beginning of the pani puri scene; the same affected pleading for him to stop. Ugh!
More than thinking that the divorce goes thru tomorrow, I hope it does. And I hope even more that the TRPs fall to 0.6 and Zee has to kick PR out by December this year, with a closing mahaepisode of Archana-Manav's THIRD wedding. And a gigantic group photo of all the Ds and the Ks and the Ks - one very big and (presumably) very happy family. But not happier than I would be!
Shyamala
Thank You, Shyamala, for the write-up.
Amen to that @bold last paragraph. Bravo!!! . Me Wishing the same as well.
What a complete bakwaas of an episode it was today!
My thoughts:
1. That pale yellow saree wouldn't cost more than Rs. 2K and they wanted to show that it is Rs.15K. Fool yourself, not us! 😡
2. Varsha gifting saree. So it was to hint Sulo that Varsha is somewhere nearby and to re-ignite that faded reflection of a woman near the gate of her abode the other day. So, what is the purpose? For Sulo to act crazy now? Don't we have enough craziness? Is Varsha going to make an appearance at the wedding mandap too and Sulo will see a woman in ghoongat through-out the wedding proceeding with near hit-n-miss?😡
3. Arjun-Vishnu confrontation. Totally dislike. That day near the temple it did not suit him and neither did it today. He doesn't have to stoop low to show himself higher. 😡
4. Purvi questioning Archu about Varsha today! That day when the MMS thing came out and Sulo-Archu were talking about Varsha, Purvi did not ask anything. Today after so many days 'Yeh Varsha Kaun hai?' looked weird. Atleast she should've had an idea who Varsha was if she had not seen her pic.🥱👎🏼
5. Manav snapping at Purvi, understandable!
6. The gajra had more thread than the flowers. But atleast it was looking nice, just the gajra, not that scene! Everything else in the episode got on my nerves.🥱

Thanks even more, first for your views, and next for that very spiffy pair of graphics. I must start looking around for some for myself!
I am glad that you too felt that Arjun was cheapening himself. He repeated dehati twice, and I was quite taken aback and dismayed by the rest of it as well. DK would never have behaved or talked like that.
If it did come to a fight, I am pretty sure the wiry, tough Vishnu would get the better of Arjun, unless the latter is suddenly given a black belt in karate.
As for the gajra, I was remembering the large fat white ones I used to make for my grandma when I was a little girl, mostly for the puja room, with mogras from our own garden. I used to wear 6 of them myself. They should be visible from the front itself.

on a side note, Shyamala, the gajras in the south are made much more thicker, maybe because of the type of mogras ( I am assuming mogras mean what we call as mallepoolu in telugu...) we get there. u know the short fat white ones...with short stems..I think other than the south, they do make it a little spread out.. or am I wrong...
The original AK wouldnt have used those words or language, but probably living in the chawl not only taught him Purvi's sanskaars..but also made him a little chawlish.. u know what I mean... the good and the bad...
