Not once did Purvi accept the truth and tell everyone that Punni was saying the truth. These 2 are the biggest hypocrites on earth. Even after Archana found out the truth, she never once went and apologized to Manju. So why should Manju have any good feelings for this woman who thinks her daughter Purvi is so much better than her daughter, PUnni. No mother would tolerate that.
lax i totally agree with the fact that Purvi should not have exposed Punni's affair. However, I feel it was wrong not mean. She did it for what she thought were good reasons for Punni and not for personal gain, nevertheless, it was completely wrong in my opinion. It wasn't her business.
And it's true that Manju did try to change. However, to compare Punni's affair with this man and Purvi's love for Arjun are like comparing apples and cell phones...nothing to compare. By her own admission, Punni was having sexual relations for career advancement. Purvi fell in love with a man whom she had NO idea had agreed to marry someone else...Her love for him was totally innocent.
Punni was NOT telling the truth because she manipulated to look like it was the same kind of relationship she herself had had.. Maybe she even thought that is what is was...but that wasn't the truth, so why should Purvi lie and say it was? That makes no sense whatsoever.
Archana has yet to learn the truth about Arjun and Purvi's relationship...she doesn't know at this point so she can't very well speak about it. She doesn't think Purvi is better than Punni, other than the fact that all mothers think their own children are "the best". In fact that is one of the big differences. When Punni was exposed, her own parent vilified her and Vinod physically abused her. They never once tried to find out why this happened. It was really about how it embarrassed the parents and made them look, not how sad it was for Punni. How would Punni ever feel loved by them. Archana was angry at Purvi for not telling her about her love for Arjun but Purvi still knew she was loved. As for Punni, Archana has always loved Punni.
Punni's problems stem from the fact that she watched her mother so filled with hate and anger all the time...she was physically pushed & punished on more than one occasion for loving her own aunt Archana and grandmother Sulo ..Archana and Punni had a wonderful bonding, but Manju couldn't bear it. She was so jealous of Archana and wanted her children to hate the ones she hated. There are those that say that Sulo never treated Manju fairly, so she had a right to be jealous, but perhaps it's because Manju was so spiteful and hateful that it would be difficult. But even if someone has a right to be jealous, what right does a mother have to teach her child to be hateful? I'ts really very wrong.
I've always felt sorry for Punni, but it's her own parents fault not Archana and Purvi's.
