Pavitra Rishta has a lot of competition from other new serials and PV especially on Zee. Prior to IPL, PR was number 1 on TRP charts(only on zee though) due to wonderful scripting (ARVI love track was grabbing eyeballs, ARman too had a lot of things going for them) and plot lines, along with some marvellous acting from Ankita and all newcomers like Rithvik and Asha and everyone else. Post IPL, PR track went back to trying out Savita-Archana clash track, and Ovi-Arjun-Purvi track, both of which did not fetch PR the TRPs it thought it would get.

I feel some things must be solved, properly if PR has to get its TRPs back.

1.Arjun-Purvi love story needs to be revived in a loving manner. It has been dead for the past 6 weeks. (Please give Purvi and Arjun new clothes and Purvi a new hairdo)

2.Arjun deserves a chance at redemption and very soon, this coming week, or else it will be too late. Have to realise the powerful acting skills of RD and use them appropriately for scenes where he defends Purvi and wins her back. If he doesn't do it now, it will be too damn late.

3.Although Ovi too is an attractive girl and suits Arjun in the status department but her chemistry with Arjun leaves behind a vacant feeling, which never is the case with Purvi. Therefore, please avoid PDA between AK-ovi at all costs. ARVI fans dislike it. Please show the true love that exists between Arjun-Purvi.

4. Give some powers to Archana, where she can combat the likes of Savita and Sachin. She needs to understand that by fulfilling the wishes of one child of hers, she is hurting everyone else.Archana is although the most loving and wonderful human being but, she can be very naive sometimes.

5. Archana-Purvi bonds needs to remain strong.

6. Tej should start loving Archana and support Archana and Purvi.

7. Some of the wrongdoers like Punni should face consequences of what harm she has caused Purvi by making the mms. Savita's actions should also not be swept under the carpet like this. Someone needs to find out. Manav needs to gradually find out the truth about his mother.

8. Solve some other pending problems, before bringing in another Antagonist in the form of Soham. Please don't make khichdi of this lovely show.

9. PRs TRPs cannot be back without tackling and retying some of the open strings.

I have just shared some of the important points which I thought are relevant.I am sure there are many others.

trish its too tough to say how TRP increase.PR used to get 5+TRP.even after 4year leap PR was no1 with 6+trp last june.but after 18 years leap it was 2.8 then it was gradually increasing and went 3.6 then its slowely decreasing after week 14,[u can check]week16 it was 2.8 then ARVI confession week17 it was 2.8[no increasing]then arjun-ovi engagement week18 it got 3.1 then again start decreasing 2.6,2.6,2.5,2.6,2.6 that means no increasing.if ARVI confession week TRP went 3+we can say it works[sorry if i hurt u]then savita track flop then ovi-teju knowing archu their mom is failed.but this week i think it should b 3+bc so mahadrama😆but if u say ARVI confession week TRP wasnt good bc of IPL then how DBAH TRP went up?its my thought.there must b something missing why audience not convinced.even the week showed manav helping archana that week TRP well most less 2.5.PR first 2years never went so down.it was always remain 4+.its too tough to say which audience like.after 18years leap TRP went highest 3.6 but why ppl leave it😕it reach in 2.6.

@purethought, you have said it all. I still cannot understand how Archana will not differentiate between right and wrong just as she always claims. Can't she see that she is wrong in fulfilling Sachin's evil wish at the expense of her family. why is she partial, is it that she loves Sachin the more or is it that she just derives pleasure by doing so. But I don't blame her, after all she's a product of such, I mean she's the most favored daughter to her mother. For Sulochana, its always Archana,Archana,Archana likewise Archana now, its always Sachin,Sachin,Sachin.

Poppy, I agree with some of the things you say.

But I clearly remember when I started rewatching Pavitra Rishta, for ARVI and ARman (watching them getting back together slowly) , I was enjoying myself immensely. I was also on the side, watching the TRPs of PR and its position on ZEE. And for weeks on end, ARVI going strong, ARMAN getting back together, Tej coming to India, living with Archana, Purvi fighting with Sachin, to reunite her parents, during of all that, PR WAS number 1 on zee (I had kept a watch). The story for PR was working not just cos of ARVI but also because good things were happening for ARman.. Archana was strong, had Purvi and Sulochana who took good care of her. And Tej came in too. I liked how Archana for the first time in her life seemed happy in her own little world with Sulochana and Purvi, with no Savita to harass her. Although seeing her come back with Manav also made me happy, as I am an old PR viewer. I loved how Purvi was fighting to get her mother and father reunited, even though they were not her own blood, but she was doing what Sachin should have been doing. Other angles to the story were also dealt with properly.

But during that one week, during ARVI confession week, because of IPL or some other reason, the TRP was 2.8 (which is still more thant 2.5, 2.6 which it has been recently😊). DBAH is the best show right now on all channels, so there is no point comparing it with PR. so, it withstood IPL.

Poppy, the fact is that PR cannot reach TRPs of Sushita times. Because no Sush. 😔

But we cannot deny that prior to IPL, when arjun-purvi love was growing, also ArMAN were getting back together, Archana met Tej, Archana faught for Purvi with Vinay's parents and other such strong Archana tracks, PR was number 1 on zee for many weeks.The plot then for PR was good.

I for one want PR to show Arvi, arman, and tej-ovi-sachin and everyone else too.. but the script needs to be tight, and not leave problems pending, in lineups. I even would like to see Ovi begin to love her mother. I am looking forward to Soham too, but some loopholes need to be closed before going further.

Archana is not really partial .. she lets people take her for granted, thats her problem. She lets her own people emotionally blackmail her. She puts others before her own self. She is naive.. and that is where Manav used to protect her earlier. People like Sachin misuse her goodness and take her happiness from her. Even Savita has done to her. At the cost of listening to Sachin, she had caused harm to her own children and her ownself too. She's just too naive😔 I love her still the same😳

I only know to reedem the TRP of PR, CV can do the following steps:

1) Should immediately portray Archana as powerful women, who always fights against wrong, evil & lies. We appreciate the way she has fought for Purvi.

2) We wanna see Manav as a different dignity with strong opinion and a strong supporting pillar of Archana.

3) Though many new faces have been introduced, but are not properly utilised. Ovi Teju Sachin Arjun Purvi should be given more space.

4) Arvi love story should be more highlighted. As they are fresh couple of the soap, their love story should be properly used to gain TRP

5) After leaving SSR Arman chemistry is not maintaining its charm as before, . So, concentration should be focused on Arvi, not on Arman coz Sushita chemistry was much more appreciated than HT & Ankita on screen chemistry.

6) Story line should be concrete, compact & logical.

I thinks actors are perfectly okay, just to work with the editing, storyline, scripting.

Poppy, I have seen DBAH once or twice .. seems like a good well written story, and they concentrate mostly on the track of the lead hero and heroine.

I guess TRPs are a result of tight scripting, acting, direction and other such aspects. PR has some of the best actors, better than DBAH. But PR' s script according to me right now, is all haywire. Too many tracks make it confusing. I also think PR attracts more urban viewers now than DBAH. DBAH appeals all around, I suppose. Not sure.😕
