earlier i used to wait for the weekend to end so that i could get a dose of my arvi, but now i just change my channel if depressing arvi scenes r shown. the only character that is growing with time is tej she is sticking to her character and not flipping sides.👍🏼
i just want ekta to maintain the flow of arvi love story rather than letting it go from one end to other. PR has now become like a hawa ka jhoka kabhi idhar to kabhi udhar no consistency in the story, arvi's story was a breath of fresh air for me but now its suffocating me.
being a loyal arvi fan will never stop loving them or watching their show, but yes somewhere deep in my heart i will not connect to them like i did before😔
hope ekta clears n cv's clear the mess before people loose interest in the show

Remember Purvi's resolve to not tell Archana about her relationship with Arjun? So, today when Purvi was in fact on the verge was telling Archana and getting interrupted (yeah repetitive 🥱), I think she would have told the fact using the fictitious Shrutika. Purvi is clearly breaking apart. She might have had the plan to state it as Shrutika's predicament and ask for advise. But anyway that moment was interrupted and Archana had to go away in the night itself. Not sure when again Archana will prod Purvi again to make her tell .. [By the time she gets back after her meeting with Manav (argument then romantic moments in the rain), she will be in a totally different state of mind].

Now that Purvi had asked Arjun not to talk or call her and we saw in yday's episode that Arjun gives up trying to call her, so now the ball is in Purvi's court. She might have to make the next move. This all will take time, unless they introduce someone to do something and bring the two face-2-face.

OR that scene between Purvi and Archana was just a CARROT thrown at the viewer to think Purvi is going to tell Archana about Arjun and everything will be alright for ArVi? Just a way to lure the audience for the next week 😉

Dont know but feel happy as i think tey have edited out the restaurant scene.. which wld have been so cliche sacrifice track(did not want to see the scene of arjun crying and looking into purvis eyes n hugging ovi) .. still i thnk thr is sacrifice track .. but now it seems more trust track Arjun trying to win Purvi's trust back and den vice versa .. and after that face the whole crazy family..
I thnk i would cut down some slack for Purvi for yesterday's episode.. i mean though 3-4 episodes have passed it been only a day since engagement and all shes hearing 24/7 is hows Ovi's love is pure, greatest, since 14 yrs and these thngs.. from evryone showering extra love on ovi's even her mom and den also in office .. and so the only person she can vent out her frustration is her Arjun Sir.. and i thnk Arjun absouletly doesnt mind her blurting out .. rather than a meek purvi crying.. and we all know he does have the convincing power.. since the optimist i am.. evry time the CVs have created dama.. followed by really good scenes.. so hope there is light at the end of tunnel..

Hi Shyamala,
*sighs* good question...frankly I dont know how long I can steel myself to watch such scenes. Maybe its due to the blessed fact in this case that Im halfway across the world and a different timezone- and thus was able to mentally prepare myself much ahead of time. 😊
I agree with you about Arjun. We all fell in love with him in the first place because he was so arrogant and powerful but we were starting to see the human side of him. Even during his confession...he may have swallowed his pride to an extent but he was never weak. Even when Purvi was turning him down and telling him she had no feelings for him...he didnt walk away crushed and crying...he promptly told her she was wrong...and he knew differently. He had her cornered and had control of the conversation and the situation.
I think he does need to show some backbone. And I was very happy to see him not call her even though he wanted to. Its true that he does love her too much to let her go so he is not going to walk away from her. But I really believe we are going to see him come out of the confusion and weakness and start seeing him come back around to himself. First example being that he didnt follow "Her Highness" orders to forget about her and their rishta...and sit at home and cry and feel hurt and lament his life. He decided to call Ovi, get together with her, and tell her the truth.
I know you are really angry with him and disgusted by his behavior...a man constantly crying just makes me go postal, and weakness is just too much. (god forbid!). But I just dont see him turning into a crying, bumbling fool...he should have retorted back to her but I think just the sheer shock of the confrontation left him completely speechless. I also think his feeling of enormous guilt over the whole thing was a major factor. I am the last person to favor Purvi as you know...but I do have to admit...there is no doubt that she was completely blindsided. She was living in her own love fantasy of believing that Arjun was going to announce his feelings for her at the party, and that she was going to be getting engaged to him. She just never saw this coming. It doesnt justify her shrewishness of course...but it may justify his letting her rant and rave and be abusive.
I think if I were in his situation I would feel enormous guilt and confusion too. Lots of times when we fight with our loved ones, we say the most hurtful and mean things...things we dont really mean...in total anger and the heat of the moment in lashing out. See when you are the one who has done something wrong, even if you apologize, sometimes you just have to let the other person lash out and get it off their chest even if they do go way overboard.
My point here again is not to defend Purvi but to defend Arjun. Its my sincere attempt to convince you to not despise him for being spineless because of that confrontation...
I am willing to overlook this part because we knew there would definitely be a backlash when Purvi would find out about Ovi...let alone seeing Arjun end up engaged to her. But I agree with you in that this is it.
As I mentioned before, the CVs need to give Arjun his fire and power back, and give Purvi back her sweetness (and it should be done much the same way as the airport confession)...with her having to take a similar kind of a pride-swallowing step and do something on her end for Arjun.

Dear bee5,

That is a really interesting idea, that Purvi will continue to use the fiictitious Shrutika. But what precisely will she ask Archana? She cannot tell a story that will clash seriously with the former one, and there was no second girl then. It is all rather puzzling, and again, if I were Purvi's mother, I would never swallow this whopper that a girl can look so sad about another girl's predicament.

As for the next move in Arjun-Purvi, I do not care who makes it, so long as it is NOT Arjun. The boy has to develop some self-respect. Being in love does not mean you let the girl trample all over you at will.

He was an employee but is now a business partner. DK made him a partner when they started the renovation project for what turned out to be Manav's own chawl.

Dear Janhvi,

I expect you would have caught up with this already, but I somehow forgot a major sequence In yesterday's PR. Arjun goes for dinner with Ovi, and begins, with a great deal of preparing himself, to tell Ovi about his love. As we could have predicted well in advance, just when he is clearing his throat and Ovi is waiting (NOT with bated breath, she seems to be equally concerned about her Mexican salad - obviously a girl who has her priorites right), trring!! and it is DK from Down Under, and he orders Arjun off to the City Hospital to look up an important client who has just had his 3rd heart attack.

Now Arjun assures Ovi that he will be back as soon as he can make it, and would she please wait, as he has this ultra important thing to tell her. What does she do? She calls Teju, who is nearby, to join her, and then when Teju refuses to eat there, goes off to the Karanjakar house with her, leaving Arjun and his important revelation to look after themselves. Nor, when she is well settled with kanda poha and dinner, does she even think of calling and telling him she has decided not to wait for him.

Very interesting, as it shows that Ovi, for all her professed amar prem for Arjun, really bothers only about herself. She is like nothing so much as a sleek well fed cat: stroke its fur just right and it will purr and lick your hand, but one wrong move, and it will snarl and scratch.

Dear Janhvi,

There will be nothing much to catch. Teju brings Ovi to the Karanjakar residence and they all have a good time, with Archana too having dropped in by chance.

Purvi looks ostentatiously sad. It is obviously meant for the audience, so that they cannot mistake what she is feeling. Normally, people who are in the dumps try to be extra lively, feverishly so, in company, and one can see that something is wrong. Here, it stares you in the face. She also leaves a full plate of kanda poha and her tea untouched, to drive home the point.

Archana follows her to her room and probes her as to what is wrong. Purvi is on the verge of telling her mother - what? That Arjun loves her and not Ovi, and that she too loves him? Where is the need for this after she has shown Arjun the door? To confess all this to Archana now will only cause her unnecessary pain. It is not as though Purvi is seeking her help to iron things out for her and Arjun. It is all as confusing as ever.

Purvi's revelation, whatever it was supposed to be, is stillborn, for there is a call (the phone call as a plot device is becoming VERY repetitive) from an angry Manav, who has been briefed by Sachin that Archana has inveigled his ewe lamb Ovi into visiting their place (and staying there overnight as well, though Manav, luckily does not know that).

Ovi is very reluctant to do so at first (probably worried about the bathroom), but agrees in the end. She takes Purvi's share of the room she and Teju use, and Purvi offers to sleep in the hall. I thought that reflected the general trend of PR these days.

In the precap, Manav is yelling at Archana on a wet and windy road.

For me, the nice thing today was that dear Arjun was absent and I did not have to listen to Hai rabba, mainu kee kara? yet again, or watch him look terminally desperate in close up. He does that sort of stuff very well, but again, there is only so much of studied melancholy that one can take, especially when one sees that it is largely self-inflicted by a damned fool who seems to have forgotten how to assert himself.

Now for a lovely, long ArVi free weekend. And to think that as recently as a week ago, I used to look forward to Monday!

Dear samarp 2,

Thanks a lot for your kind words, and I am so glad that you agree with me about the Thursday episode.

What I could not stand, even more that Purvi's illogical and shrill ranting, was Arjun's total lack of resolve and his unpreparedness. He did not seem to have worked out what he wanted to say at all, taking into account all the accusations that Purvi would be bound to hurl at him - it would hardly have been difficult to guess them. And the way characters in these serials keep bleating "Meri baat to suno' again and again, whereas, in the same time, they could have stated a good part of what they wanted to say - it is enough to enrage anyone. Arjun was articulate enough in when he revealed his love to Purvi, one wonders what happened to him this time. He seems to be so scared of the girl that he was only a pale shadow of his normal self, and she took full advantage of that.

I only hope he does not start pleading with her again and humiliate himself further. Nothing is worth that, least of all a love that denies its own existence.

Dear mjht_ArVi4ever,

My dear, if it is not too much to ask, could I have your real name? Your id is too tough for typing out!

Thanks for the kind words, and I presume you mean not just the post about the Friday episode, but the opening one in this thread about the Thursday episode. I agree completely with you about the yo yo nature of the scripts of these serials. I do not know whether it is because the writers change or due to the whims of the top bosses, probably the latter. I used to feel that the fresh, youthful ArVi track was being written by a young, intelligent team, and I was more than ever convinced of it after the airport scene and the one before it in the mandir. But with Thursday's episode we seem to be back to the worst phase of the original PR. I do not understand it at all.

I have been responding individually to many of those who wrote in about my original post of Thursday, and I am afraid I have lost count of the number of times that I have repeated myself in describing Arjun as 'a marshmallow left out in the sun". I think I fell in love with that comparison - it seemed so very apt. He is melting fast at the edges, and if he does not look out and quickly, the centre too will melt!

He needs to get a backbone and leave Purvi to her own devices for as long as it takes. I cannot stand any more shots of him playing Devdas, with or without the whisky glass. I was glad they skipped him completely on Friday, but as Archana and many others have suggested, he should get his act together, be completely correct and professional with Purvi if she continues at her post ( better still if she does not), and strive for self-possession even if he is still awaiting better times. I am no admirer of the British in general, but there are times when there is a lot to be said for a stiff upper lip.

I agree with you about Teju. I feel that she will be consistent even after she learns about Arjun and Purvi, and will not turn against them and especially not against Purvi.
