We all saw Archana and Manav on the streets thanks to Savita Tai's antics in today's episode.

--------------------------------------------------------

Episode continuation track:

Manav finally finds Archana, who is still sick. She had been taken by one of the women inside a small hut on the other side of the street because the cops cleared this side of the street, so all the poor, homeless folks had to move. Archana goes with the woman, but keeps looking for Manav's return. Her tired eyes dart here and there for him, but he's nowhere. Her temperature is getting higher, she's getting sicker.

Manav locates her and woefully tells her that he couldn't arrange for a kholi and that they had better leave the hut. The woman points out that he must get his wife to a safe place soon, as it looks like it might rain. They get going, after thanking her for helping Archana and feeding her with what little she had.

Archana and Manav get out of the tent, the woman gives Archana a blanket with holes in it and Manav an old worn out shawl with tears in it. They wrap themselves up and then start walking and the thunder starts with its terrific sounds. Lightening flashes across the sky, people are seen hurrying home, but Archana and Manav have no home to go to.

Its 5 pm and its getting really cloudy and it looks like its going to be a stormy and windy night, which means Archana, whose temperature is going higher and whose forehead is getting hotter, must be brought indoors pretty soon to keep from getting sicker.

Manav doesn't know what to do, he feels guilty and blames himself for Archu's halat. He weeps inside but doesn't let Archana see his tears.

Then he prays to Bapa and says that he should be shown a way out of this predicament.

He and Archana are walking the streets and darkness falls as rain clouds gather above their heads, the thunder gets louder and the winds have started blowing. Very soon, the whole city will be drenched in water. The wind blows an umbrella straight toward them from across the road. the force of the wind makes it stop right at their feet. Manav picks it up and rolls it up, keeping it ready for when the rain starts, which could be any minute now. Even in the midst of this torment, he smiles at this little miracle. Umbrellas have a special meaning for this hapless couple.

Then it occurs to him that their usual haunt, their local Bapa Mandir is a few steps away to their left, why not go there and sit under the roofed area there. They reach there and Archu is now really getting tired and weak. They hobble up the stairs, one stair at a time, he holds her up by the shoulders and they slowly reach the top. Himmat rakho Archana, bas ab upar tak pohochne hi waley hain hum.

As soon as they put their feet on the very last step of the stairs of the Mandir where the roof starts, the rain begins to pour down powerfully, but they are dry, not a drop falls on them. Looks like Bapa was holding up the rain till they reached His home.

They go over and stand near the Murti. Archana puts her head on Manav's shoulder due to fatigue. The pujari is nowhere to be seen. Manav wonders if he would let them spend the night near the Mandir. Suddenly, someone touches his shoulders from behind. Its the pujari's wife. She looks at Archana who is shivering and can barely stand.

Manav asks her if they can spend the night near the roofed area and they will leave before the morning, they have no where to go but have just gotten married. Just then the pujari shows up, and recognizes both Archana and Manav and tells them that this is Bapa's house and he recalls the many times both of them have come there. He sees Archana and tells his wife to take her into their home which is at the back of the Mandir, and to get her warmed up with some food.

He puts his hand on Manav's shoulder and says that they can stay in their home because it must be Bapa's marzi that they arrived just when they were about to shut the gate for the night.

Archana and Manav find shelter for the night and some good, hot food. They tell their story to the pujari and his wife who get the impression that by helping this couple in severe need, they will be doing punya or seva for Bapa.

The pujari asks Manav what he does for a living, Manav says Mein ek mechanic hu. The pujari says he has a brother who might be able to find him work tomorrow and that they can stay till they are stable and have collected some money. Manav and Archana are given a place on the floor to sleep and are fed properly. After all, they're guests in Bapa's home!

Manav puts 3 blankets on Archana including the one for him and makes sure she's warm and secure. The pujari's wife sees this selflessness and brings Manav two more blankets for him and says Ab so jao beta, yeh barish tou chalti hi rahey gi. He refuses to sleep but sits up all night near Archana who is still shivering.

The pujari comes over to ask if all is well, and Manav makes of him one more request, that if anyone comes asking for them, that they should say they know nothing. He asks for this protection and the pujari says not to worry, he won't say anything to anyone. He tells Manav to get some rest.

At Archana's house, Sulochana is sitting by the window looking at the rain, Pata nahin kahan hogi Archu aaj raat. Itni barsaat mein, usey kuch ho to nahin gaya? Us Manav ka koi bharosa nahin. Meri Archu... Barsaat mein hamesha usey hi sabse pehle sardi hojatithi...kahan hogi Archu is raat, the thunder claps scare her and keep her up all night.

In Manav's house, an angry Damodar is pacing the front room with the lights off. Savita is snoring away. He goes into her bedroom and looks at her. Then he looks across the room at Manav's bedroom and the open closet, etc. kaisi ma ho tum, he says in his heart. Aaj raat tumhara apna beta aur bahu na janey kahan bhatakk rahe honge, tumhari ek galti, tumharey gussey ki wajey sey tumharey apne bete ko aaj ghar chhor ke jana para...mein tumhey kabhi maaf nahin karunga, Savita, kabhi nahin. Then he looks at the images of Bapa and Sai Baba on the wall and says Raksha karna mere bacho ki Bapa, aaj ki raat bahut kali raat hai, mere bacho ki raksha karna.

The next morning, Manav and Archana get up early because the pujari gets up at 4 am. They get garam chai and the pujari speaks to his brother on the phone to talk about getting Manav work the same day. They give Archana some medicine and her fever has come down a bit. Manav aap meri fikar mat karo, mujhe tou apki chinta ho rahi hai. Manav and Archana share chai by drinking it together. He shows her the umbrella that flew right at them last night, and they share a smile. Manav says, iski tou zaroorat hi nahi padi. They look at each other knowingly. They have the understanding that while human hearts may grow cold, Bapa's Darbar is ever open for them.

The pujari says his brother has found work for him at a garage near his home, its a little far, he'll have to take the train, but and he can go there in the afternoon. The couple is elated. The pujari's wife tends to Archana and helps to get her better, while Manav goes off to work. Its not a permanent job, but will do for now. He returns with some money and asks the pujari where the donation box for the poor is, the pujari's heart is touched. Manav puts some of his kamai in the box.

He tells his wife, Dekha? Khud in dono ke paas kuch nahin, lekin auron ke liye man mein kitni daya hai. Kal hi bhai sey baat karke is ladke ko kaam dilaya, aur pehli kamai sey doosro ki seva karta hai. Dhanya hai. Hamey in dono har tarike se madad karni hogi, yehi bapa ki iccha malum hoti hai.
Inko janey nahin dena kuch din tak, bitiya theek hojaye pehle.

Archanafan ...you should be one of the writers.......i have to say that if there is too much more sadness for manav and archu they will lose me as a viewer...in this situation, for the writers to position manav and achu as being so silly as not to accept ajit's invitation, even for a night or two til they could figure out what to do, or like you said in another post, go to his own room and take things of his own for their use...is just DUMB. ANYONE, even in this traumatic situation, would think about one or two practical things rather than living on the street, which is NOT ROMANTIC but terribly painful lonely and dangerous.

it makes me ask the question. Do the writers hate their lead characters? seems like it. It seems like they are always making them look like buffoons!!!! Lead characters should have SOME wisdom and not always do stupid things. right???

Absolutely agree Naava, I think so too. Not taking Ajit's help was a huge mistake...

Living with your new bride on the mean streets is ridiculous...they had help! Why didn't he take it? It wud have kept a roof over Archana's head and also kept them safe...
