Archana didn't take divorce from Manav just coz Manav had given his word to Shravani or coz she had personal zing of goodness. On the day of Manav- Shravani wedding when Shravani was gone and everyone was pressurizing Manav to marry Archana, Archana stopped him and gave all the reasons- that they'll never be able to live happily with the knowledge that Shravani and her child were left in lurch, that even if they adopt Sachin's child, Manav would be doing favors (ehsaan) for him and even if they get Shravani married to someone, it would be unfair to both Shravani and her child to live away from each other.
Why wud Shravni be away from her child if she married someone else ? Why wud she leave her child with Manavs family and marry someone else .........are there no good men like Satish , Manav or even Dharmesh who wud accept another baby as their own ? Why did Archna say this ? Puzzling .
That was not for Archana to decide if there would be someone else to marry Shravani. If anybody could decide that then it was Girishji and Shravani herself and we all know how Girishji handled things after coming to know of Shravani's pregnancy.
If her husband had given his word , it was her duty to remind him that he alone cannot take decisions , that this word was given by him but not HER . That she did NOT believe it would achieve anything good . Which is perfectly true ..
How can Archana tell Manav that he alone cannot take decision after she had walked out on marriage and didn't give Manav fair chance at prove his innocence. In fact Manav told her that she cannot leave him and then come back whenever she wishes. When Archana was willing to divorce Manav so that Varsha could get married to Satish then she was equally prepared to get divorced from Manav so that Manav could take Shravani and her child's responsibility. So in both cases she was wrong wasn't she ? Who told her to use her marraige to save other people's butts ? Be it Varsha or be it Shravni ?This itself shows doesnt it that she regards marraige like some usable toy and has perhaps not fathomed the seriousness of it all ? Varshya kya , Shravni kya...........yeh koi wajah nahi ho sakti Shaadi todne yaa jodne ke liye .
When Archana agreed to divorce Manav so that Varsha could get married to Satish, she had all the evidences that you mentioned below against Manav and she considered her marriage was over anyways, so she thought her marital status/problem should not be a hurdle in her sister's marriage.
As I see it she made a mistake , left in a huff , came back to work on her marraige , but she was not given a fair chance to do that coz hubby had already given word to another gal by then . Due to some reasons , ok . During this court order stay both hubby and wife , according to courts expectations find that they have resolved their differences and can indeed get back together . STILL they dont coz some other problems have cropped up and they r now paying attention to them . So in effect they r devaluing their own marraige .......its that simple . Dont tell me with what face she cud say NO now since she had walked out on the marraige.............she had not walked out simply for the heck of it ....her husband's photographs with women in intimate poses had been thrust under her nose in public and he had been unable to provide sufficient explanation or proofs for it . Any woman wud go .ANy woman . Even after shewent for months this Manav cud not come up with any proof to prove his innocence ....ultimately his drunkard Dad got the proofs. And she immediately came back to apologise and rectify her mistake and the Law gave its approval . She shud have used her veto and said look I have come back as I want this marraige . U gave the word when we were not divorced ........u shud have conferred with me . Even Law demands it ...how cud u give word without talking to me ? Anyways thats nOT my problem , I want to be with u , Im not giving u up .So Sorry but we will find a different solution to this mess , ok ?Thats it .
After getting brutally beaten up in police custody and witnessing his whole family getting tortured by police owing to FIR of domestic abuse of Archana, I don't think Manav cared to consult with Archana at that point and Archana herself saw how much Manav had started hating her. I think everyone overlooks this crucial incident when Manav had gone to Archana's house and broken his relationship with Archana and divorce was mere formality for him that was left to be done . Manav just hated Archana for all the troubles his family had to go through coz of Archana.
Even Law demands it ...how cud u give word without talking to me ? Anyways thats nOT my problem , I want to be with u , Im not giving u up .So Sorry but we will find a different solution to this mess , ok ?Thats it .
When Archana came to know of Manav's innocence and wanted to come back to him, Savita kicked her out, physically and mentally abused her. Then Manav returns along with Shravani and tells her that she cannot stay there and that he is going to get married to Shravani and the reason behind it. How could Archana fight for such marriage when husband is not accepting her back and MIL is so hostile towards her. She spends a night at railway station thinking about marraige , she has no one's support ( Damodar's support doesn't count, he has habit of throwing problems at other person's face and asking them to deal with it), she was all alone and had no hope of getting back with Manav so finally decides to go ahead with divorce with the knowledge that Shravani is going ahead with her pregnancy on Manav's promise to marry her.
During Archana's 3 mths stay at Deshmukh house, Manav 'Shravani get engaged to be married, Archana accepts Shravani is Manav's would be wife and Savita gives Shravani DIL status already and then later on if Savita had change of heart at the end and asks Archana not to get divorced, Archana should pounce upon the opportunity and ditch Shravani after giving all hopes to her? Is that what you are suggesting Archana should have done when Savita told her not to divorce.
No one will dissolve a marriage to solve issue of illegitimacy of a child in real life but what kind of marriage was shown between Archana and Manav ' a marriage that had rocky beginning and was marred with problems one after another, all they spent was mighty 15 days togather and 15 days does not make a strong marriage especially if it was followed by infidelity accusations, divorce application, domestic abuse accusation followed by police harrassment followed by death of a family member followed by illegitimate pregnancy issue, with all family members forcing Archana-Manav to separate from each other, anyone could have resigned to their fate and called it quits. So did Archana and Manav when they agreed to divorce each other. The story evolved in far more complicated manner involving Shravani and her child and Archana cannot be solely blamed for the divorce.
