Hi Varsha,
I have made it on the srewers in the owen also, just make sure that you have a drip plate underneath the chicken. It cooks very quickly so make sure that it does not dry out especially if it is the chicken breast. I broil it for a couple of minues in the end to brown the top.

no its normal fat....not skimmed..

the 'live' yougurt that you mix with hot milk must be 'fresh'.....

I normally buy a small carton of 'live' yogurt from a shop every couple of months or when the homemade yogurt doesn't set properly.....sometimes I also get some yogurt from my mum...

here is a really easy and quick gobi mateer sabzi...

take 1 cauliflower...separate the florets to med size

take 1 cup frozen petit pois...add to boiling water and then drain..

tarka or wargar:-

in pan add 2 dessertspoons sunfloer oil

when oil is hot, add 1tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp hing...the seeds will splatter...

add gobi and peas

in small bowl add the spices:-

1-1.5 tsp salt or to taste - depends on quantity of veg
1.5 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp tumeric
3 tsp thanjeeru powder
2 tsp tomato puree

mix the spices with some water and add to the veg...toss the veg...cook on medium heat until the cauliflower is tender..

garnish with coriander

tip----I use

cooks essentials pans from QVC..you can use metal spoons and the non-stick doesn't get damaged...very difficult to get anything stuck to these pans...highly recommend them..

Varsha, I tried your stuffed Kerela. It came out really good. My hubby has not eaten lunch yet so will let him try it out and then I will edit this post with his comments. I did not have baking soda so I omitted it.
Varsha, my hubby loved it so much. He said "what did you put in the stuffing this time" I added amchoor also in your recipe and made it bit khatta. He is a critic and if he says really good, then it is really good. Thanks for the great recipe.
I served the above with plain whipped yogurt with only roasted ground cumin seeds and a bit of salt. I also had moogi masar daal.
I also made vegee biryani from Patak's biryani masala. Came out really good.
I will post the punjabi stye stuffed karela as well. We use onions in the stuffing.

thanks Bhavni. i never buy anything from the web. I don't like giving my credit card or even via paypal. I guess I am very conservative ater hearing all kinds of stories gone bad.
