Totally agree with you about the kids in the orphanage. Mys is is a single woman and she has been trying to adopt a kid for a while. But they keep telling her that in India a kid can only be adopted by a couple not a single person. Not sure how correct this is. She does visit the orphaange often.

@gauri: i agree that in MOST SERIALS THEY EMPHASISE ON KHANDAAN thing. But i somehow feel that in this case its a factor but not MAIN FACTOR. At time when he said yes to marry her. At that time he never thought in his dreams that his wife who has signed divorce papers and all attempts from 2 months were in vain would suddenly come back to him. It was almost over between two. Plus situation in which he said to marriage should be taken into consideration. His family was tortured in jail. They lost their younger son. They were in deep grief and trouble. In that point of time came ray of hope With akhri nishani of sachin was that baby. And to bring that baby in this world he had to marry shravani. So i think that to give HIS FAMILY SOME HAPPINESS AND RELIEF, TO GIVE THE NAME TO THAT BABY, he decided to marry her. Of course khandan was one of factors but not major factors. And now when his WIFE RETURNED IT WAS TOO LATE AS IT WAS JUST NOT QUESTION OF HIS RESPONSIBILITY BUT QUESTION OF 2 LIVES THAT IS baby and her mother.

Thanks. I will let her know. this is not something my sister and I have discussed lately. She gave up a few years ago. Maybe she had bad sources of info back then.

I just thought about it when you mentioned kids int he orphanage.

India also has one rule for the rich and famous and one rule for the common man .

But dear in this show we are not seeing whats happening with sushmita, but they show what happens in common society or middle class society and this perception of khandaan persists. Let me tell you. My grandparents have 2 son. My father has 1 son that is me and 1 daughter. My uncle had 1 daughter who died due to genetic disorder and they have 1 son whom they have found out recently is suffering from same genetic disorder and is less hopeful. So my grandmother was saying that i have got only 2 grandchildren and only 1 grand son. She said that i should take care of myself because if something happens to me then what will happen to our family. SEE GM , INDIA IS NOT THAT FORWARD. Although we always say that india is moving forward but only at few places or big cities. THAT OLD MENTALITY STILL PERSISTS. It doesnt matter how much you progress but if you dont change your mentality your country would never change. Here even if we have dusta people just roam around and spit on roads or walls deliberately. They throw garbages here and there. That thinking of khandan is very much there. Not much THINK OF ADOPTION EXCEPT FEW. So basically if people will not change our country WILL NEVER CHANGE DOESNT MATTER HOW MUCH WE SAY THAT WE Are developing.
