C

First of all I apologize for replying late , coz I honestly simply missed this one , believe it or not .

Secondly , I seriously feel you are in Jhumpa Lahiri's league . Perhaps , even better , as you have far richer experiences to share whereas she is stuck on Bengali immigrants in the states . I read Lahiri a lot over and over again coz Indo English writing was my special subject in my post graduation and I enjoyed it ..........the lucidity of the Indo English style had a flavour un paralleled by British or American writing . I constantly try to read it over and over again just to keep it all within me........from MUlk Raj Anand who brought Hindi words for the first time into English writing , to Ruth Prawer Jhabvala to Khushwant Singh { I adore his vocab though his subjects r too intense for my conventional brain] to Tagore 's lucidity right upto Jhumpa Lahiri who got the Pulitzer

I felt you have a combo of Ruth Jhabvala and Lahiri in your writings . You should seriously write C. I wont be surprized if u get nominated for some literary award and I am not joking . Your descriptive style is lucid yet shows off your vast vocab [ like Anita Desai] and it depicts whatever you are trying to show VERY WELL.

Goodness, Kool, thank you very much! More - and higher - praise than one could have anticipated for a 20 minute FF on IF. 😊 (Though I confess to editing minor details afterwards, viz. the Limca ladies.)
However, on a realistic note: clearly this is your affection speaking rather than your critical faculties, since work like Lahiri's and Jhabvala's requires both serious research and much focused effort. Even if I could come within reach of such subtlety, especially Lahiri's, for a few lines or phrases, I don't know if I could sustain it through a whole novel or even a short story. I think she's absolutely brilliant, so the mere suggestion that I could some day begin to emulate her is wonderfully flattering. 😊

C the creatives are not as half as talented you.I loved how you showed Manav's effort to choose a Sari for Archu. After all he wouldn't just pick one from the heap for her.I absolutely loved it.

A striking contrast of deep Purple on a milky white skin at a curving waist, charoli-laden Basundi near the bed, Her willing sweetness in all things-including one and his inexorable longings…The whole 'kaynaat' is primed for…

When He is observing her effortless and unobtrusive efficiency at any work or chore she is doing, one can almost hear Lara's Theme in beck ground.

The Glossary required-

Piuli bhaji =

Bhopla cha bharit =

The depth of Author's insight into the dynamics of a most natural union. =

They looked up at him surprised, but smiled at each other when he said he liked one sari in their pile. They'd never have let any woman take it away from them, but this tall and handsome man, hesitantly saying he wanted something special for his wife on padwa day... who could resist him?.....

Recently some one has found out the names of those Limka seeping, strict and otherwise no nonsense group of Ladies. Their names are starting with KS, Cr , PR, TY.

Samarth you are sweet . This Limca sipping lady loves your responses and is interested incidentally , only in the Limca , not in the heap of saris on the counter top .
