There was king Harinyakshyap.. he was egoistic man.. He told every villager that he is God n pray to him... HIs own son Prahlad Was a huge devotee... He did not listen to his father n kept praying.. Kind was angered by this n he decided to kill his son n teach everyone lesson... He tried several ways of killing him each time he was saved by some miracle (There are 3 to 4 attempts)... King had a sister Holika she had a special blanket that a fire couldnt touch... He asked his sister to sit in fire with the blanket on n take Prahlad along with him... SHe took Prahlad n sat n King lit fire.. Prahlad kept on praying... Suddenly strong wind came n the blanket which Holika flew in wind... SHe got totally burned but to everyones shock Prahlad dint get any injury... ANd then the pride of King was broken n villagers celebrated the next day with colours.. This marked that if u r good n pure n pray with true heart God will come n save u from ne danger....


Thats y today is holi where bonfire takes place... Tomorrow is Dureti in which ppl celebrate with colours... which embarks the victory of Good over Evil...
