The forum is getting so depressing and everyone has different points of view.. but everyone agrees on one thing.. Manav has become a parrot repeating the same thing all the time.. so i thought why not write an essay/diary entry about it on Manav the parrot.
I hope die-hard Manav fans don't mind it. I've tried to balance it well with good and bad points.
Essay on Mithu Manav: (Mithu=Mitha=Sweet Manav)
Every husband on earth is a type of bird.. some are HENpecked husbands.. some are ROOSTER COCKS who have command on how the morning should start and how everything shud be... some are WEAVER BIRDS who make nests for their pregnant wife.. very caring... but what suits me best is a parrot.
Hello everybody.. I'm Manav.. and I'm a parrot
.A parrot is a lovely bird, it attracts everyone cos of its lovely colour and nice voice... but it sometimes gets camouflaged among ordinary surroundings, trees and leaves. So people fail to recognise its beauty and mistake it for ordinary leaves.
A parrot is very friendly.. it doesnt betray people.
But like most parrots, I am also seen in a cage most of the time.. not in free skies... people cage me cos they like me.. i'm good... my responsibilities cage me... sigh!
A parrot keeps repeating the same thing... right now my three favourite lines are:
main Shravani se shadi karunga (shravani who? a cuckoo bird.. laying her egg in someone else's nest)
tumne bahut der kar di Archana (Archana who? A dove.. very pretty.. coos softly all the time... she is not of my species (my league) so I felt I wud never be able to marry her but Bappa has been so kind to me)
Ab is rishte ka kuch nahin ho sakta
A parrot keeps repeating whatever it remembers and most of the time what is in front of it... right now my muddled little brain is very tired (parrots have very little brains)... all I can see is that I need to save my cluttered nest somehow which got ruined in the storms of life.... so have given up on my broken relationship with my dove (I love her so much.. sob!) .. maybe she was my mistake.. maybe she wasn't made for me!! (????)
But still Bappa brought us together.. a parrot and a dove... and we will definitely unite one day...(although how.. i don't know.. maybe science has figured something out... don't know... I didnt go to school after class X)
Today everyone hates me.. earlier everyone used to say Mithu..Mithu... ... and loved me for being a parrot... they praised me for my colour.. my voice...but today they hate me, why?
cos I am a parrot and so it is my nature to keep repeating things that are in front of my eyes.. most common being Main Shravani se shaadi karunga. (Again she is out of my species(league) but now I dont have the choice or patience to figure out if this union is possible.. but people at India forums think that this is a mismatched pair... hmmm green and black???)
And i have a little brain, what to do???
But listen everyone.. parrots are extremely loyal... they live for a long time and stick to their masters... they never bite back if the person in front gives love....I am loyal too... (no points guessing to whom I am loyal... my dove.. who else?) there will be no one else in my little heart.
And inspite of their little brains.. parrots are the cleverest birds once they start noticing their surroundings (read: Truth coming out) and then there's no stopping them!
Yes, parrots have a heart too and they also have a tendency to remember the names of things they love... like names of favourite foodstuff or people... when they aren't around they miss them and call out loudly... Mithu Mithu khana khana ..Archu Archu..(???) and very soon who knows I'll learn many new words... (hint: Main Archu ke saath naainsaafi nahin karunga... Main Shravani se shaadi nahin karunga) and many old ones as well.
A parrot has a lovely red beak and can tolerate chillies well... I am the hero of the story after all... if i dont finish of the teekhe villains who else will... anything to save my dove.. she cannot tolerate chillies like me(sob! missing her again!)
And my big strong beak.. I'm proud of it.. I will bite off anyone who tries to hurt my dove... today, tomorrow, forever... I am not with her today.. but I'll always be with her when she needs my help. Cos my dove's small little beak is good enough to only give pecks on the cheek... though she can really give it back to birds like Manjusha by sh*tting over them when my dove is bravely flying high (as of now)... I sh*t only in my cage.
And my Dad is there to guide me.. right.. yup.. he's a parrot too... his favourite lines right now are:
Archu ko is ghar mein wapas leke aao.. Archana Manav ek doosre ke liye hi bane hain... (yeah, even he likes my dove)
But there is my Mom... a crow.. she keeps cawing all the time and even though I try to control her she always gets out of hand... (again I don't know how a nice parrot like my dad mated with a harsh loudmouth crow like my Mom.. Bappa united them... science has really progressed) For some reason she likes the cuckoo more than my dove.. maybe she is intoxicated by the cuckoo's voice.. (read: money).. I don't know... my little brain is getting muddled again.. anyway I prefer my own voice.. and my dove's coos.
But as you all know... the crow keeps on cawing and no one pays attention.. when the parrot speaks in front of the crow everyone listens to the parrot... one day when I will open my mouth in front of my Mom, (it is difficult cos the crow shouts so loud... but I speak sense more than the crow)....everyone will have to listen.. she will have no choice but to keep cawing as she understands nothing... its her nature.. she wont change.. but I hope that day you all will be happy with me... and my dove will be happy as well. After all if I dont protect her against the big bad black crow who is a complete contrast to my dove, who else will???
So you see... for all that i have written above.. if this 'bird-brained' parrot who keeps repeating the same thing is your problem today, this friendly, loving, clever/vigilant bird who speaks sense before the crow and makes people listen, bites its enemies, fights out with the chillies of life... will be your solution tomorrow.
My dove needs me and I need her... we both know it... we may get other parrots and doves but love happens only once right??
Mithu... Manav.. Archu.. Mithu!!!
