Part One

Another day. Another Morning. Another night she spent dreaming about him. As she slowly rose up from her comfy bed, she heard the kids bickering over something from outside. She glanced at the clock in her room and quickly sprang up from the bed.

She got up from her bed and headed to the bathroom. After taking a quick shower, she draped herself in an off-white colored saree and went to meet her impish nephews and niece.

As she walked out of her room, with her wet hair dangling behind, she heard her Vahini yelling at them.

She walked towards the children's room and stood at the doorway where she found her sweet Vahini looking frustrated as she tried to dress up her six year old son.

Archana traced back in history when she first met her Vahini, Rani. She was a sweet simple girl who taught at a dance school. She had joined her class to learn kathak when she was seven and was totally mesmerized by the day she danced. Rani was seven years older then her due to which Archana would always call her Rani di. But that soon changed when she found out that her Dada, Milind was madly in love with her.

At that time, Archu didn't know how they both fell in love. It never made sense to her how a tough guy like her Dada could fall for a soft and sweet girl like her Vahini.

But now, she knew what love was. And at that time, she had done the right thing by patching them up. It was quiet easy because her Vahini came from a rich family and because of that, her Baba didn't have any objection.

She was glad that her Rani di was her Vahini. Ever since she met her, she had only gifted her with immense, motherly love and care. Her Vahini was happily married to her Dada and they had two naughty but beautiful children. The elder was Rohan who was eight years old and the younger was Rahul who had recently turned six.

As she was about to walk into the room, she noticed that her Kajal bhabhi was also there. She was struggling with tying the shoe laces on Rohan's feet. Her Kajal bhabhi, just like her Vahini, was more of like a sister then a sister-in law. She was her second elder brother's wife, her Sagar bhaiya's wife.

The Vahini and Bhabhi issue had started even before her brother's got married. When Archana learned to talk, she would have a lot of confusion on who to call her Dada. Both Milind and Sagar were older then her so they were both her Dada. But when she wanted to call just one of them, both of them would end up there. So to end their baby sister's confusion, Milind and advised her to call him Dada and to call Sagar "Bhaiya". That way, there would be less confusion.

Since then, she has always referred to Milind as Dada and Sagar as Sagar bhaiya. When they both got married, her Rani di was now her Vahini and her friend cum sister was her Kajal bhabhi.

Sagar and Kajal also had a love marriage which thankfully got accepted when Archu's Baba found out that Kajal's father owned a chain of hotels in Agra. They both are also happily married and had a tiny 5 and a half years old daughter Punni (Poonam).

Archana looked around the room for her teddy. And a huge smile came up on her face when she saw her teddy sitting there, dressed in a red and white school uniform with a matching tie around her neck. Her hair was neatly combed into a ponytail which was held together by a red lace. Her shoes were neatly on and she was ready for the day.

Her hazel colored eyes were looking at her brother who were harassing her Kaki and her

Mamma. Whenever she would see her Dadas harass both the ladies, she would crack up laughing at the scene. But today, there no sign of even a smile on her sweet, teddy-like face. She looked nervous and very scared.

Archana walked up to her teddy and kneeled on the floor in front of her. After her Kaki dressed her up, she had settled herself on the tiny bed in the room. But upon seeing her Atya in front of her, she literally jumped onto her and burst into tears. She curled her tiny arms around her neck and hung onto her favorite Atya.

Upon seeing her teddy's sudden reaction, she gently caressed her soft hair and tried to calm her down.

"Kya hua beta….Aise rooh kyu rahi ho?" She asked her softly. But upon getting no response, she pulled back and looked at her scared face. Tears were continuously pouring out of her angelic eyes.

"Kya hua Punni? Atya ko nahi bataugi?" Archana asked her cutely. By now, both Rani and Kajal were on each side of Punni wiping away her tears.

"Shhh….roote nahi. Kya hua baccha? Bol na…." asked a concerned Rani.

Archana had always seen her Vahini adore this little girl more then her own children. And her Kajal bhabhi loved taking care of the Karanjkar boys. The respect both of her Vahinis had for each other was unimaginable.

But her teddy kept shedding tears. Once again Archana asked her.

"Bolo na beta? Kya hua. I promise ke hum aap ko bahot sari chocolates denge. Aab please batao kya hua?" Archana knew how much of a freak she was when it came to chocolates. As upon hearing he word "chocolate," little Punni stopped her crying and hiccupped as she explained her fear.

"Atya…woh…woh Dada…Dada ne…kaha ke school…me…sab mujhe …mujhe satayenge…." She hiccupped as she let out her fear.

"Atya…mamma se kaho na…mujhe school mat bheje…mujhe daar lagta hai. Aggar koi meri choti khichega toh mujhe accha nahi lagega…." She seemed to be on another verge of tears.

Both Rani and Kajal tried to console her. Rani was about to yell at both Rahul and Rohan who stood there with sad pout on their faces. They didn't intend to make her cry. It was just a little joke. Rani was about to yell at them but Kajal stopped her. Kajal was very close to both Rahul and Rohan and she would never let anyone yell at her babies.

But as all this was going on, Archana found her past coming back to her. At one point in time, she had been in Punni's place. But lucky for her, because of this same position, she had found the love of her life.

She had found her Manav.

~Flashback~

(Archana: 5 yrs old - Manav: 7 yrs old - Milind: 14 yrs old)

It had been her first day at her preschool. Archana was scared beyond belief. First of all, she always felt nervous around people she didn't know and didn't recognize. Secondly, her Dada has scared the crap out of her by reciting bizarre thing about going to school. And thirdly, she found herself believing everything he had said before she was dropped off to school.

Her entire school day passed by with her being so nervous and scared. And to ruin the day to the worst, every person she tried to befriend, was not interested in her. Maybe because looked very simple while the other 5 yr olds were fashionable with 1 billion pound of make covering their face and their hair styled in all corny way.

She didn't even know how to put make on. How would she? She was nearly five and a half. Her black hair was naturally straight and silky. She had a black and white poke-a-dotted head band on which matched her black and white school uniform. Her eyes were the darkest black. She had tiny pearl studs on. Her shiny black sandals completed her neat look.

But seeing her natural, virtuous looks, every girl tried to annoy her. Being the sweet and sensitive girl she was, she would run away from each girl.

But the worst came when it was recess time. During recess, she decided to played basketball. After picking up the ball, she went to the black top to play. But on her way, a group of perky girls decided to pick on her. They took the ball away from her and circled her. Each one decided to pull her hair and tease her.

At last, she was in tears. She was very soft when it came to people hurting her feelings. She just couldn't stand it. The meanest one of the girls decided to hit the ball at her. She aimed back and threw the ball harshly at her.

Archana covered her face with the back of her hands and waited until the ball hit her. But it never did.

After what felt like ages, she found the courage to look up and found a guy standing in front of her. His back was towards her and he was almost a whole foot taller then her.

Archana quickly wiped away her tears and tried to figure out what was going on. She looked at the tall figure again and saw that he had the ball in his hands. He saved her from getting hit. She looked at the girls who seemed terrified by the big guy.

"Aggar kissi ne bhi isse aur sataya na, toh mai jaa kar teacher se complain karunga." He yelled at each girl. His voice seemed really cute to Archana.

Hearing the threat, the girls ran away leaving the two alone. The guy turned around and gave her a sweet smile. She felt as if she would faint that very second. He was so damn cute. He was missing a tooth from her upper right side but that made his smile much more cuter.

"Yeh lo…aab tumhe koi tang nahi karega." He held out the ball to her. Archana smiled back at him and took the ball.

"Tumne un ladkiyoo ko kuch kaha kyu nahi? Dekho aggar tum aise darne lagogi toh dosre logo ko bahana mil jayega tumhe satane ka." He tried to explain to her. She was still a little scared after what happened. Seeing her sad face, he tried to lighten her mood.

"Tumhare kuch friends nahi hai kya?" He asked sweetly. She made a sad pout and nodded a "no."

"Koi baat nahi. Kya tum meri dost banogi?" He held out his hand. Archana looked at the hand and then at him.

"Mera naam Mavan hai. Manav Deshmukh. Aur tumhara naam?" He still had his hand out and was flashing his one toothless smile. Archana just stared at him. There were many people who wanted to be her friend today. But they all ended up teasing her.

"Tum kya gungi ho?" He asked being a little serious. Archana's mouth dropped when he called her that.

"NAHI!" she yelled but then seeing the scared look on his face, she cracked up. He joined her in her laugh.

As she saw him laugh with her, she had a feeling that he was a genuine guy asking to be her true friend. She slid her hand into his and they both had a shake.

"Mai Archana. Archana Karanjkar. Aur mai tumhari dost banna chati hu." She answered him cutely.

"Toh theek hai. Chalo khelte hai…" He pulled her onto the black top and they both started shooting hoops having a joyous time.

~End Flashback~

(Present)

The day that started off from a bad start ended up being the best day of her life. That day, she met the man she was madly in love with. She met the man who adored her. She met her savior. She met her love, her Manav.

As she watched her Vahini go to the kitchen to get some water for Punni, she decided to give her the advice that he had once given her.

"Punni, tum darna mat. School bahot hi acchi jaga hoti hai. Waha tum bahot sare dost banaogi. Aggar tum aise darne lagogi toh dosre logo ko bahana mil jayega tumhe satane ka. Tum toh hamari bahador beti ho na." Archana patted her teddy's cheek.

Punni nodded a yes with a slight smile. Both Kajal and Archana smiled at her.

"Good girl. Now chalo, verna dair ho jayegi…" Kajal said and she wiped her baby's tears and gathered the three children. Rani walked in at that time and made Punni drink some water. And after drinking the water, she ran up to Archana and held out her hand giving off her toothy smile.

"Meri chocolates???" She asked hoping to get her favorite. Archana smiled at the little girl and gave a Hershey bar to each one. And then they headed off to their school day.

As she watched then go, she wished that she could go back in time and relive those time that she spent with him. Only if it was possible.
