Chapter 3

The day so far had been quite good 'actually beyond just good '..she was handling her new responsibilities very well'and had just finished her meeting with the team ..working out some finer details and was about to call Mr Kapoor to update him on the changes when her cell fone buzzed.

Archana : Hello, haan sakshi bol, what ,seriously ,congatulations '.haan sure , hmmm how abt we make it 4 pm 'yaar ghar ka to tujhe pataa hai 'manjusha vahini she'll create a scene if I go back late 'aur phir kaam bhi hai ghar pe '.ok chal cafe coffee day at 4pm then pucca.

Oh the day was just getting better ,after quite some time she was going to hang out with her college gang ,her day outs with friends had become minimal ever since manjusha arrived in the house 'she always found something wrong in her enjoyment ,why she hated her ,she had no idea because she wasn't so outrite against her other two sisters and never really interfered with their lives .Well she cudnt do anything to change manjusha so changed her lifestyle no discussing friends or personal stuff at home ,all she ever discussed was abt work that too if someone ever bothered to ask.Oops she had been thinking once again '.as she looked at the clock it was almost 3:30pm '.time to call it quits ,and so she decided to pack her stuff and make a move towards Cafe Coffe Day.

Hi Archu ..yelled Sakshi ''as Archana entered the caf .

Waving in her friends direction ,archana made her way to the table where they were all seated waiting for her.

Helo everyone and congratulations sakshi 'she said as she gave her friend sakshi a tight bear hug '.and then she made herself comfortable in one of the empty chairs.

Sakshi: kya loge sab ,jaldi jaldi batao n then we can get to talking '

The girls quickly decided what to order and began their gossip.

Vani : lucky u sakshi '.itna accha ladka mil gayaa.

Pooja: ya true , mujhe to ladkon ko dekh ke school mein padhi ek line yaad aa jaati hai har baar There are easier things in life than trying to find a nice guy...like nailing jelly to a tree for example"

Archana : I beg to differ yaar ..yeh to jo likh gaya who likh gaya 'but I just met a nice guy this morning

Ooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhh came the collective sound .

Archana : ho gaya '.ok coming to the main point , sakshi did u get his photograph to show us ya we'll have to just go by yr description .

Sakshi: ye lo ..as she handed out the photograph on which everyone pounced at once to see.

Nice smile said Vani

Not bad said pooja

Nice choice haan sakshi ..said isha as she nudged her friend sakshi a little.

Archana: Hmmmm , not bad yaar !!!!vani '.u r rite iski smile to acchi hai ..par subah hi maine isse better smile dekhi '.

Pooja: yeh subah ka kya chakkar hai Ms Archana'

Archana: Nothing yaar '..i just saw a good smile 'so I commented ..nothing more!!!

The friends gave each other a look of disbelief and before they cud say something to her

their order arrived ..and the friends got busy with their eating and teasing sakshi ofcourse.

Ye Dooriyan ,ye dooriyan,ye dooriyan

In raahon ki dooriyan,nigahon ki dooriyan

Humrahon ki dooriyan,fanaa ho sabhi dooriyan'..

As Tarun continued to watch him work as well hum completely oblivious to his surroundings and his presence especially'he wondered 'very interesting situation /scene this was ..definitely worth investigating.

Manav ,manav '..no response '.he walked upto manav and stood beside the car he was working on'still he didn't notice him.the snapping of fingers brought manav out of his dreamland and back insync with his surroundings as he looked up to find tarun smiling as well as staring at him

Tarun: Sir ,yr chauffeur is here..

Manav: Tu kab aaya '..

Tarun: tabhi jabse u were merrily singing '.baat kya hai '.and don't say kuch nahin 'cause I wont buy that 'chehre ki chamak sab kuch bataa deti hai'.

Manav: Shut up!!!der nahin ho rahi ab'..aur haan today u have to drop me home 'and on the way we'll pick up some mangoes ..baba ko bahut pasand hain ..to leke chalenge.

Tarun: yr wish is my command sir ,par ye sudden change of heart kaise ,kyun station wali ke bajaye koi car wali '..he stopped mid way as he saw manav glare at him'.i mean kya who married hai , is she

Manav : bas kar '.dont exercise yr pea size brain so much ,lets go n ill tell u everything on the way!!!

Tarun: Ab aaya na line pe , chal'..

Tarun: Are u nuts , you were standing next to her for 5 mins 'justing stealing glances ,paagal hai kya ..woh tujhe smile de rahi thi aur tu ne naam bhi nahi poocha, what were u thinking , u let such a wonderful chance go , I should have been there '..tujhe se to mujhe koi umeed hi nahi rakhni chahiye thi in the first place'..what were u thinking '..kitni baar god will have to make u meet her ki tu usse uska naam poochle''saying that tarun hit his head against the car stearing

Manav: Yaar jaane de , he set is head comfortably against the headrest and closed his eyes and continued ''I think she is well educated n all 'mera aur uska koi match nahi

Manav: yaar abhi tak to she wud'nt even remember that she ever met me 'ouch the situation he found himself in itself hurt 'and on top of that making such statements was like adding insult to yr own injury'or worse like sprinkling salt on yr open wounds.

Tarun saw manav's smile fade away ..along with the glow '.and he immediately realised what the cause was'

Tarun: matches are unfortunately made in heaven aur usmein mera aur aapka zor nahin chalta '..and kya pataa she is meant for you ..varna ye chance meeting aise thodi na ho jaati hain'hmmm mangoes n all '.par I was wondering after hearing her sweet voice 'mangoes kuch kam meethe nahin lagenge

With that tarun started the car again 'Manav cudnt help but smile '.tarun was a sweetheart 'and maybe some where he was rite '.who knows what was in store for him.and who was he trying to kid in the first place by saying what he had just said and thought 'he knew his problem ran far deeper..and mere words and thoughts cud not get rid of it .

The beautiful day was finally coming to an end and as Archana hit the bed after finishing off the kitchen work'today had indeed been a great day '.work was gud 'meeting the gang was even better 'and the best part was when she came home no one was fighting '.manjusha was happy for a change ,aai was very happy as the prospective groom was coming to see her next friday 'if only such days 'she wished wud came a little more often in her life''.

Chapter 4

It had been 7 days 16 hrs 48 mins and 23 secs to be precise since he had met her at the morning local.How ever much he had tried to distance himself from her thoughts in the past week ..the more drawn towards them he had found himself to be.Eversince that day there had been no sign of her for real,but other than that he had seen her day in and out in his dreams .Everyday he had looked arnd the compartment for her and had thought to himself maybe she was in the ladies compartment ..after that incident why would she travel in the general compartment ..and unfortunately he cud never travel in a ladies compartment...that thought brought a smile to his face as he looked at his watch once again ..one day tarun cudnt drop him back home and it was that day that it had to rain,sending the city into utter chaos and that one day tragically had to be today .....great!!!!

The prospective groom was to arrive at 7:30pm ....it was 4.30pm rite ..now ...she better get going ..thought Archana .It was pouring outside , rains they always created a mess, traffic chaos , delayed trains n what not .She needed to have time on her hand ..other wise she wud be in trouble .Luckily for her though she had the office car to drop her till the station , better it wud have if she cud go all the way in the car seeing the weather but something is better than nothing.

Archana got out of the car to ask the driver what was wrong.They had been stuck for 10 mins now.Upon enquiring she found out that the driver didn't really no what was wrong and also in this heavy rain he cudnt possibily keep the car bonnet open for long .

Archana: my luck , car bhi abhi kharaab honi thi , she looked arnd to see if she cud get some help ,she saw a bus stand at some distance ..she cud definitely find some help there.

Archana: Bhaiya , main koi help leke aati hoon

As she approached the bus stand Archana found a familiar face amongst the crowd and heaved a sigh of relief .....they say god doesn't come himself to help but he definitely sends someone and he had definitely sent that someone for her .

Excuse me Manav turned to face the voice that he cud never forget, Manav continued to stare at her unabashedly with a blank expression as she continued

Woh car kharaab ho gayii hai and I don't know yahaan koi garage hai ki nahin .was looking for some help .aap dikh gaye so I thought I'll ask u.

So she remebered him ,infact she chose to seek help from him ..this was unbelievable just like a dream coming true..manav continued looking at her blankly and then suddenly realised his dumbness ..

Ji ,I don't think u'll find help easily in this rain I know a bit abt cars maybe I can help ....aapki car kahaan hai ..

Its over there she pointed to a Honda city parked some distance away .

Chaliye ..lets go ...aap pehle hi kaafi bhee gayeen hain baarish mein said manav

Once there manav asked the driver to open the bonnet as he rollled over his shirt sleeves and began to see where the fault was.A few minutes had passed and manav was busy working when he suddenly realised that she was still standing there in the rain.

Looking in her direction he said' Aap /you please sit in the car I am going to get done in a few minutes the car should be ok then.

Bhaiya ,aap ke gaadi mein koi chaata nahin hai kya Archana said

Madam , hai abhi dekh ke lataa hoon said the driver

Archana went and sat in the car while the driver searched for the umbrella having found it he handed it to archana

Bhaiya ,ab mujhe iski kya zaroorat bheeg to gayi hi aisa karo aap ye unke ke liye leke khade ho jao bechare meri wajah se ..

Ji theek hai ..and the driver opened the umbrella and made his towards manav and held it over his head.

The car was functioning once again much to archana's relief ....as manav took her leave.

Main station tak jaa rahi hoon ,agar aapko kahin pe drop chahiye to please I'll drop u , meri wajah se pehle hi aapki bus miss ho gayi aur aap itna bheeg bhi gayen hai .

Ji , aisi koi baat nahin hai ,I'll manage said Manav

Pls dekhiye u've helped me time and again . Ek baar mujhe bhi to chance deejiye aapko thank karne ka continued Archana

Manav found himself smiling at that as he agreed to take a drop.

Mujhe bhi station hi jaana hai ..said Manav

Even better ...to aaye baithiye 'as she motioned for him to join her in the back seat and the driver opened the door for him.

As if standing next to her wasn't torturous enuf ...now he had to sit next to her for the next 30 mins ..why was god doing this to him ..first he falls in love with her.... then he gets to no he cant get her ever...... then the more he tries to take himself away frm her the more he finds fate bringing him to her ....why o why ....he hated how he was being teased by fate.

He was still reeling from the after shocks of that previous meeting and now this meeting ..specially these next 30 mins .........he had some how survived their last encounter ..he wasn't too sure abt his chances this time around !!!!!!
