The sense I get from the writers is that they want to depict things differently and challenge the typical expectations of how scenes are shown between a couple.....which is why they showed the implied intimacy between H and B the next morning by showing her faili hui bindi.

This is a couple that started off not even talking to each other directly....they talked to each other through other people.....bol de apni Mummy se, bol de apne Hanuman uncle se😆.....that is the basis of their equation....it's always taken the route of indirect, implied nuances.

Maybe people's expectations rose a lot after Dheere Jalna😆....but I think the writers will keep mixing things up with HB. They like to go contrary to expectations. So it's fully possible that they will explore passion in a different way down the line.

Yeh time nahin tha to dive into focus on deep passionate scenes because other issues have to be worked through first.

@Bold: Word. After Dheere Jalna, the expectations just rose. We have been waiting to see that kind of intimacy since Dheere Jalna and we haven't gotten any 😒

Hope you are right that they explore much more passion down the line.

For a woman who's been repressed for so long, that reaction made perfect sense.....one cannot expect HS and Babita to react the same way in situations....they are different people, with different personalities and different baggage.

I agree. That was Babita not Paridhi. In fact Dheere Jalna is one of her best performance in the show. The chemistry was just oozing in that scene. HS and Babita's emotions were perfectly depicted by Aniruddh and Paridhi in Dheere Jalna.

There are way worse actresses on ITV, so we should cut her some slack 😆

Atleast she’s not playing this with garish level of melodrama....that’s what I really wouldn’t be able to stand.

I like the simplicity she brings to Babita’s character and she plays the motherly affection well.

Yeah, she needs to work on her crying/sobbing skills though, like in the scene when she admitted to NB that she loved HS or when she was sobbing after HS told her she could cancel the wedding if she wanted to. Just not convincing.

I think the difference is that while the other actors live their characters, heck even the actor playing Khatri, Paridhi acts. If she were on another show we may not have found her any different from the rest of her cast there, but in this show it does stick out.

I also agree that I don't expect that caliber from her. I feel that just having regular scenes of HS, Minnie, Lala, NB more than make up for it, especially since one of them is usually in a scene with her and the other actor pulls it up.

There have been very few scenes where she stole the scene for me.

Agree. She needs to work a lot on her crying skills. It doesn't come out natural. While she is good where tears just flow from her eyes , her sobbing is all artificial.

I too agree on not expecting her to match Aniruddh's caliber. It will be total injustice. He is a born actor while she has learnt acting.

What I find really odd is her never trying to bring some punjabi accent to her speech. I might be wrong here as I am not a punjabi. I am just comparing it with Ashnoor's.

The clue is in the title only....DHEERE jalna 😛🤣....matlab dheere dheere hi hoga sab. Patience rakhna padega 😆

Jokes apart, I would say go with the flow. The writers have shown that they like to approach things differently. Whether it’s intimacy or passion, they will follow their own approach, so we shouldn’t project expectations timing wise. Sab apne time se hoga 😆

Paridhi had a bigger fan following as a K series female lead + playing the famous role of Jodha. Aniruddh hasn't had that kind of a vehicle, and this show really is his first major exposure of this scale which thankfully has given him some recognition. He was famous for YARO but the audience was different. With HS he has reached the hearts of a wider demographic.

I don't want to talk about Paridhi's acting because people here get mad. She's better than many of the other actresses on ITV but I just think that Aniruddh and Ashnoor as just so spectacular that they outshine her. Frankly, I haven't seen much growth in her after all these months on the show, which I have seen with Ashnoor for example.

The recent scene when Babita was talking about her insecurities regarding coming close to HS fell flat and I missed out on feeling Babita's pain to an extent. My head acknowledged what she was saying but it didn't touch my heart, whereas even someone like Sandhya ji with a few moments on screen takes a scene to another level.

This was the scene that I was talking about earlier. Aniruddh's plus point is that he can emote through his eyes. He had so much emotions in his eyes during this scene, you could just feel it. It seemed like Paridhi was holding back her emotions during this scene. Maybe thats how the director wanted the scene to be portrayed. Babita also as a character does hold back a lot, so it would make sense.

Aniruddh no doubt is a very good actor, better than Paridhi in most scenes for sure, but I don't think its fair to compare Aniruddh and Paridhi, given the different kinds of characters they portray on screen. Their characters are poles apart from each other, so it wouldn't make sense for them to react the same way. Like, I said Aniruddh emotes through his eyes, so it seems like he's literally living the character of HS.

Ashnoor I would say used to give OTT expressions and reactions in the beginning. She's much more mellowed down and natural in the recent episodes... she's also just 15 so I would cut her some slack, and she also has a lot of experience to gain down the line. For her age, she is really good.

I do feel people should have a bit more faith in her and Aniruddh together...they’ve actually created a good dynamic and can pull off a variety of scenes....but the pace and arc of the journey will be determined by the writers, not these two.

As you said, Dheere Jalna showed that Paridhi can match the feel of the scene as needed. But intent toh writers se hi aayega.

I've seen Paridhi's work before in Jodha Akbar, so speaking from that context, I'd say this is her acting style in general....she's played these characters who are somewhat stiff. Jodha was a Queen, so the held back body language fit there in that context......Babita is a very repressed character, so Paridhi's acting style manages to work with that too in terms of body language.

I personally don't expect Aniruddh level ka caliber of acting from her.....lol but she does suit Babita's character IMO......and she's done well in many scenes in PB....in particular, she brings out that naivete to Babita very well sometimes....lol ....the "main itni bhi achhi nahin hoon" wala scene comes to mind.

It's the writing that really muddles up her character....would be hard for even a more accomplished actor to portray the twisted and bitter nature of Babita's character....she stores and stores things inside and then bursts out abruptly...that's Babita.....I'm not sure if anyone else in her place would have been able to make us sympathize with Babita when the writing doesn't want her to grow yet.

Sometimes, it seems like Paridhi holds back a lot of the emotions... like she doesn't give it all the way. Maybe its just how they want Babita's character to be portrayed, given that it is a repressed character.

Agreed. Its not fair to compare Aniruddh and Paridhi. She does suit Babita's character in my opinion too. She has stood out in a lot of scenes actually, such as aftermath of court scene, Dheere Jalna, Ashok slap scene, Alcohol scene with HS, recent outburst with Khuranas etc, so I wouldn't call her a bad actor. She's pretty good, but there is a scope for improvement as well.

Everyone was OTT in the beginning of this show including Paridhi 😆....I couldn’t stand the whole show in the first week with the hyperness of all the characters. They all settled in after HS entered.

Otherwise I would say Ashnoor is a tremendous performer for her age....she brings a maturity beyond her years to her acting. On top of that, she has naturally charismatic screen presence. Way more than many ITV female leads. Woh uska khud ka talent hai....I’m not comparing Paridhi to her cuz they are just playing very different characters here too.

That said, I won’t deny that I have a much softer corner for Ashnoor 😆 and I see her growing into a tremendous actress.

Yes before Aniruddh's entry everything was OTT in the show. Ashnoors acting has improved a lot. She has learnt a lot of things which I would like to think through Aniruddh. I feel she gives her best in the scenes with Aniruddh. Considering her age it's a great thing. She is way better than all ITV heroines. She is gonna be a superstar soon.
