Does more than ever.
I just watched the entire fiasco. And noted one point. That Mini apologised only when Babita was hurt due to HS' words. Only then she knew the depth of her feelings and hence apologises to him for wrongly judging him.
At that point, he behaves so casually that it's all okay but obviously this had hurted him. What if Babita wasn't hurt? Mini would never understand his POV. She repeatedly said at that time ki Maine aapko hurt kiya Maine Babes ko hurt kiya. That's why he said yesterday that he knew she won't ever hurt Babita but what about him?😭😭
Damn Jean, the face he had when Mini had talked of leaving the Haveli and she had termed his love as ehsaan. Its heartbreaking.
He literally cried in their faces.
Yep, the look on his face as he went down the stairs... Yesterday's scene brought all those points home for me.
It's telling that the one takeaway he has from all this is not related to his equation with Babita but with Minnie, with losing the chance to be her father. The way he berated himself for being stupid enough to think he could be her father, along with the subtext that he wanted to be the father neither of them had had, but that he now felt unwanted in her life. Her assignment was about getting her mother remarried but not about getting her father, HS, remarried or his stake in this relationship as far as both mother-daughter were concerned. He knows what she has been missing more than Babita does at this point but Minnie doesn't understand.
The video clip probably made him wonder if Ashok had been a present father, even though not a good one, would Minnie ever consider HS as a father after her mother married him? Perhaps not. He could only step into that space because Ashok had never taken it, or so he had thought. He was there when she bawled after Ashok left and he was there when she cried after Ashok was arrested on drug trafficking charges. He has observed her really closely ever since she came into his life. As a potential parent he can never compete on the DNA front with Babita or Minnie. He may have only articulated his emotions as a father in the pooja, but he had accepted her as his daughter a long time back. Minnie did not understand this journey of his but Babita had known ever since he had told her on the balcony before they went to see the therapist.
The way he said "aapki chhori" when talking to Babita yesterday... He felt he could not really call her his own because she did not want it. Oh, how that must have hurt!
I won't be surprised if he doesn't call her mhaari Queen Victoria, Veer Balika, or chhori anymore.
