LOL yep, I noticed the same as well....there are many parallels....Guru was Mohan ki Biwi and Laale is kinda like HS ki Biwi since so many years taking care of him....lol

But there's some crucial differences.....Mohan was not a disciplinarian like HS is....in fact the exact opposite....lol he was carefree and didn't follow any rules....while HS is all about rules and discipline....so even though both Mohan-Nanhi and HS-Mini have that bond of friendship first, there is that core difference.....Mohan literally was like a kid alongside Nanhi....even though he was her hero, her spiderman who saved the day always, he was a peer to Nanhi in many ways.....while here, HS came in as an anchor in Mini's life in very dark days....she is an aspiration to him....courage to live up to....so there is that admiration, which grew into immense fondness, protectiveness and then love.

And then yes, Mini is a teenager, while Nanhi was a total kid....so that ofcourse changes the dynamics as well.....HS and Mini can have conversations on way different subjects that Mohan-Nanhi could have.

Also, NBT dropped the ball in exploring the nuances of equations as Mohan fell in love with Megha and Nanhi could have adjusted to it when she finally learnt about it....but she accepted it instantly.....they speeded things up there....while here they are gradually, thoroughly developing everything so I'm really enjoying the bondings on a one-on-one level as well as a group.

One other crucial difference is that in NBT, Mohan met Megha first, and then Nanhi in the next epi.....while in PB, HS met Mini first....so when he says, "Tu First hai", the storyline backs it up....Mini did come into his life first.

And how wonderful is ashnoor as an actor. i started watching this show only for her & used to watch YRKKH also but there she was not given much to do. i actually started NBT too because of her because the little girl nanhi stole my heart in one scene i saw. she has grown so much & has got better. she just lits up the screen every time & her acting is so real you just instantly connect

Oh absolutely! And I remember which scene you're talking about.....season 2 otherwise didn't work for me cuz without Ashnoor, there was no Nanhi for me, but for that particular scene, when they brought her back, it just encapsulated why no one else could be Nanhi and why only she has that special chemistry with Kunal.

I never watched YRKKH....not my cup of tea ,even for her....but yeah, it did sound like she didn't get much to do there....I'm so glad she bagged Mini cuz it is so very rare for teenagers to get age appropriate characters on TV or in films.....the other kids her age are doing creepy romance with actors double their age in saas-bahu shows.....so I'm thankful she didn't get pushed into that kind of trash.

With Mini, it's just wonderful that she gets to explore so much....she can be both a child as well as a grown up based on her different equations with the characters....with HS, she is both daughter and friend....with Babes, she is both daughter and mom....with her friends, in college, she's a teenager.....she's seen so much trauma through the situation with Ashok and Meeta, that it helps add more layers to her character beyond any typical child or teenage role. She doesn't exist to be taken care of or protected by the adults in the show....she's charting her own path through the various situations....she's a strong voice...not just a kid to be brushed aside.

wow these are off screen gif's i never saw their ivs. But that man looks totally in awe & in control of her😳😆. i know they had very good off screen bonding by looking at their scenes only

Yes, these are from offscreen IVs....the one on the right is from the 100 epi celebration party.....these were the days before social media and Twitter exploded....lol so IVs still got conducted by small media outlets only.

Ashnoor shared a lovely bonding with both Kunal and Aakanksha....

I remember there was an IV from season 2 where they both talked about missing Ashnoor and you could just feel the love they have for her.....

where do you get these so old gif's from?

i saw ashnoor in rani laxmibai also & there she was even younger than NBT. she did not even know how to speak properly then.

NBT (atleast the first 150 episodes) was a classic and cult show...one of the most realistic shows of ITV in the last few years till the channel decided to interfere and managed to spoil the essence quite a bit!!

Aahh, that sucks. I hate it when the channel starts interfering for no good reason. If you want to showcase the same old cliched tropes, then what's the point of giving new material a chance? Watching new and original concepts be sacrificed leads to nothing but disappointment.

Might give it another chance still.

The fricking TALKS are the absolute worst! And then they have an opinion about EVERYTHING. Like, first of all you didn't even bother to get to know me or what my likes/dislikes are and now you're gonna have the audacity to tell me how I should plan out my own freaking wedding? Puh-lease. I'll take a hard pass on that.

Someone had mentioned destination wedding here, and honestly, that's what I'm leaning towards. Just have a very small ceremony with the closest family and friends. Baaki sab jaye bhad mein.

My panic attacks are a byproduct of my terrible social anxiety. It has gotten better over the years, but it's not great. I still freak out and have to rehearse well in advance about what I'm gonna say.

I think what I lack the most is practice/experience. Due to my inexperience, I lack a lot of confidence which then goes on to effect my self-esteem. It's a very complicated and vicious cycle. 😆
