Part 6
all hell broke loose at the joshi household when radha announced she was getting married to pranay. everyone started talking at once & gesturing wildy that it took radha a while to calm them down. aaji had almost fainted from shock & had to be given a glass of water. "you're going to marry this murderer? he framed you for the murder of his wife when he himself mudered her heartlessly!!" aaji cried angrily.
pranay's bemused look immediately turned to annoyance & he nudged radha lightly & whispered to her to ask her aaji to keep quiet. "your aaji is insulting your future hubby & you're just watching? go do something." there was a hard edge to pranay's soft whisper.
radha immediately ran over to her aaji & tried her best to calm her down but aaji was inconsolable. her heart was aching that her granddaughter was going to make a murderer her life partner. "aaji.. try to understand my situation.. I've got no choice.." radha pleaded with her grandma but aaji took no heed of her.
"radha.. if you marry this man who sent you to jail, you're just digging your own grave! and if you still want to go ahead with your marriage, you better forget you ever had an aaji." with that she stood up & hobbled to her room, slamming the door shut.
the rest of the family members also talked among themselves & walked away from radha, shooting dirty looks to pranay. meghna was heard mumbling about how radha seemed to have lost her mind & avi was heard trying to calm her down.
radha felt two lone tears trickle down her cheek & tried to wipe it away before pranay saw it but he already did. "here.." he handed her his handkerchief & looked genuinely sympathetic as radha slowly wiped away her tears.
"look I know you are going to have a tough time convincing your family members but that's the only way you have. do it fast cos I want our marriage to take place in a week's time. you have very little time radha.. you better make your family understand your situation or else I'm afraid your brother might never see daylight again." pranay sternly explained to radha. his tone was firm & radha knew he meant every word he said.
"oh yes radha.. before I leave.. I want you to meet me tomorrow at 11 at my house. we have some important things to do. see you tomorrow & don't be late!" pranay remarked as he strode out of the house without even giving radha a chance to reply. radha watched him leave the house silently & turned back to the empty living room.
she was going to have a really tough time changing the minds of her family members but it was all for their own good. as radha pondered about the ways to convince her family members, her eyes came upon the handkerchief praany had handed her & despite herself radha found herself smiling.
pranay could be as nice as pie when he wanted to but also as stubborn as a mule. "what a peculiar man.." she thought to herself as she made her way back to her room. meanwhile pranay's mind kept flashing to the moment at radha's house where she shed a few tears because of her family.
pranay didn't know what happened but all he knew was that when radha cried, he felt bad. "I don't feel bad for anybody. why does radha have this effect on me?" pranay drove slowly back to his house, thoughts of radha running through his mind.
