I would agree greatly with the last paragraph. One must evaluate reasoning behind sticking to principles? Is it just to be stubborn and prove the world you can stick it or has more value to it? If one's principles start hurting those dear to us, how good are they? But then is one being selfish by thinking abt those dear and avoiding to face much bigger issue that may arise?

All great points Jay.. It is stupidity if u are only stubborn to prove that u stick to ur principles but no value. It is a great thing if u stick but has greater value . Also on topic of hurting near and dear ones, sometimes one has to weigh and make decisions whether they are per ur principles or not, if they can add more value to u and ur dear ones than actually hurting anyone. Just becoz of near and dear ones, not doing anything can also be stupidity.
