I think one should concentrate more on the process of decision making than the principle itself...If we focus on the goal and have an open mind and let go of the preferred answer then life becomes easier...being worried about compromising your values may keep you away from being open to options and these options sometimes may still be in alignment with your principles and possibly create better results...
