Mahesh Shetty, who plays a grey character inBade Achhe Laggte Hain and a positive one (which turned negative recently) in Parichay — Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka, realised the repercussions of playing a negative and a positive role simultaneously.
He recalls, "I was buying a gift at a shopping mall. The shop-owner, being a regular viewer ofParichay, offered me a discount. But his sister told him that I do mean things in Bade Achhe... and shouldn't be given any discount. I had to tell them that I am very different from my on-screen characters. It's a different matter that I had to pay the tag price and lost out on my discount."
