In the Warden's Office: Kunal waited for what felt like atleast a couple of hours to him when actually only 10 minutes had passed since he sat in that chair. He was anxiously thinking about what he was going to ask the warden. He did not know if he should bring up the topic of Siddhi's pregnancy and delivery.. he mainly wanted to know where Siddhi had gone after her release.. to him, everything else was secondary. If he knew where she was, he would go and confront her on all other issues. So, he was determined to find out Siddhi's whereabouts first!

After a few minutes, a lady clad in the regular police uniform walked in. She was in her early fifties.. looked calm and composed.. and there was a positive vibe about her. She came in and greeted Kunal politely.

Mrs.Khanna: I am sorry to have kept you waiting Mr.Kunal. Main regular rounds ke liye gayi thi.. mere constable ne bataya ki aap Siddhi Chopra ke baare me jaanna chaahte hain!

Kunal: Good Morning mam! Haan, main Siddhi ke baare me aapse kuch poochna chaahta hun. Jailer saab ne bataaya ki Siddhi do maheene pehle hi release ho gayi thi. Mujhe apne case ke silsile mein unse baat karni hai.. lekin unhone koi address nahi choda. Jailer saab ne kaha ki Siddhi aapko apni maa jaisi maanthi thi.. tho main jaanna chaahta hun.. kya aap jaante hain Siddhi yahaan se kahaan gayi?(he just prayed he was convincing enough that he was not her husband!.. he did not want the warden to know but feared may be she would recognize his name.. Siddhi must have told her all about him!.. so, he spoke carefully)

Warden: Nahi, Usne tho mujhe kuch nahi bataaya! Aur bataati bhi tho kya bataati?! Usne is jail me 9 saal gujaara hai! Ek baar bhi koi use dekhne nahi aaya! Sirf ek Sulekha thi jo saal me ek baar aake Siddhi se milthi thi.

Kunal: (Disappointed at the same time embarrased at hearing the warden's words)Sulekha kaun hai?

Warden: Sulekha ek ex-prisoner thi jisne Siddhi ko uske pregnancy ke dino me use hosla diya tha! Uske delivery ke theen din baad Sulekha riha ho gayi.. lekin woh har saal Siddhi se milne uske delivery ke din hi aati thi aur Siddhi ke haathon mithayi baant kar chali jaati thi!

Kunal confused about the warden's version.. he thought Siddhi did not want the baby.. then why would she distribute sweets on the baby's birthday?

Warden: Yahaan jail me jitne bhi khaidi hain, sabhi ke family members unse milne aate the! Chaahe woh jitna bhi bada criminal kyun na ho! Lekin Siddhi ka, kabhi koi family member nahi aaya!(she said in a disappointed tone) Kehne ke tho uska pati hai, maa, papa, bhayi, behen, bhabi, sab log hain lekin ek bhi use kabhi milne nahi aaya!

Kunal felt embarrassed and ashamed hearing the warden's words! But he did not show much on his face..

Warden continued: Siddhi ne tho apne doosre bete ko bhi apne pati ke paas bhej diya tha, Sulekha ke haathon!!!! Bechaari.. (She was about to continue when Kunal suddenly cut her off)

Kunal: (Shocked and stammering)Kya kaha aapne? Doosra beta? Lekin Siddhi ko tho ek hi beta hua tha na?(He did not care if she would identify him as Siddhi's husband anymore.. he wanted answers now!)

Kunal could not believe what he just heard! He was in utter shock and was dreading what he was going to hear next! He never thought things would turn out like this when he entered the jail this morning!!

Warden: Nahi, Mr.Kunal.. Siddhi ko judwaa bete hue the!! Lekin pehla baccha delivery me hi mar gaya tha aur doosre bete ko Siddhi ne delivery ke theesre din, Sulekha ke haathon uske pati ke paas bhej diya tha!!

Kunal felt extremely cheated at hearing this! Why did Siddhi not tell him that she was having twins? He had the right to know.. he was the father after all.

Kunal: Jab Siddhi arrest hokar yahaan aayi, tho kya use patha tha ki uske twins hone wale hain?

Warden: Use is baat ka bilkul pataa nahi tha.. Arrest ke das, pandrah din ke baad, Ek din achaanak uske pet me bahut dard hua tho hamne use doctor ko dikhaya. Doctor ne Scanning karke bataaya ki uske twins hone wale hain! Tabhi jaake use pataa chala! Woh bahut khush ho gayi thi ye jaankar ki uske 2 bete hone wale hain!! Shaayad isi news ne use hosla diya pregnancy me apna khyal rakhne ki! Aur Sulekha bhi uska bahut dhyan rakhti thi!!

Now he was confused.. Richa said Siddhi wanted to send the baby away from him.. warden says Siddhi was very happy to be giving birth to twins and sent the baby to him thru a woman named Sulekha!! He did not know what to make out of this! But one thing was sure now.. based on the information AC gave the previous evening, he inferred that both his sons are alive!! He understood that AC was raised by him.. he did not understand who raised the other twin! Siddhi was only released 2 months back.. that means Sulekha must have raised his other son! Is it possible that Siddhi went to live with Sulekha and the second baby after she was released?!!

Kunal: Mam, tho deivery ke din kya hua? Aapne kaha ki uska pehla beta mar gaya!

Warden: Haan Mr.Kunal.. Delivery mein Siddhi ka pehla beta mar gaya! Siddhi yeh jaankar bahut royi! Uska koi nahi tha uske dukh baantne! Phir usne decide kar liya ki woh apne doosre bete ko apne pati ke paas bhej degi thaaki use uske papa acchha future de sake! Woh apne bete ko jail me nahi rakhna chaahthi thi! Sulekha ne us bacche ko uske pati tak pahuncha tho diya lekin Siddhi andar se poori tharah toot gayi! Usne 9 saal is jail me kaise bitaaye, yeh mein acchi tarah jaanthi hun! Har ek pal woh apne pati, aur dono beton ki yaad me doobi rehthi thi. Haan woh uski dukh kisi ko dikhaati nahi thi.. lekin yahaan ham sab ne hamari aankhon se dekha ki woh kitna tadapti thi!(wiping her eyes thinking of Siddhi)

Kunal for the first time thinking about how Siddhi must have spent 9 years in that wretched place had tears in his eyes. But reality set in quickly this time and he was sure his first son is not dead. It must be his Anand because he was given the baby on the day of the delivery itself. The second baby was the one with Siddhi now! He did not know if he was happy knowing this! But he was resoved to find out why they told Siddhi that the first baby was dead!!
