At the Central Jail: Kunal reached the jail premises around 8:30Am. As he stood before the gates, he felt a cold chill creep across his spine. He was unable to move from the place he stepped down from the auto. All the memories of his last visit to Siddhi and the day the baby was born just flashed before him. The day Anand was born was the last time he came to that rotten place. It was here that his identity as Kunal Chopra had vanished!! How could he go inside now? What else would he have to face this time? Does he have the courage to welcome whatever the other side of the gate has to offer? He was neither able to ignore these thoughts nor encourage them. He wanted to ignore them and move forward towards the gate but he stood there motionless, rooted on the spot!!
Suddenly a passing car blew its horn behind Kunal and he jerked back into his senses. He slowly walked towards the gate. The security guard at the gate asked him what he wanted. Kunal did not speak for a few seconds as he was lost in thought. As the guard asked him again,
Kunal: Mujhe Siddhi Chopra se milna hai.
Guard: Siddhi Chopra.. kaun?
Kunal: Wohi jo Rohit Thakral ke murder case me arrest hui thi! 9 saal pehle..
Guard: woh madam tho do maheene pehlehi riha ho gayi thi saab!
Kunal: Kya? Riha ho gayi?! Kaise?.. use tho umar khaid hui thi na!
Guard: Haan saab.. mujhe tho itna hi pata hai ki woh madam riha ho gayi.. aap chaahe to unke jailer se baat kar sakthe hain!
Kunal unable to take in what the guard has just said.. (thinking to himself) tho woh ghar kyon nahi aayi? Kahaan gayi hai woh? Iska matlab jiske baare me Anand kal keh raha tha, woh sach me meri siddhi thi? Tho uske paas aur ek Anand kahaan se aaya? Mujhe kuch samajh me nahi aa raha..
Kunal: Theek hai.. jailer saab kahaan milenge??
Guard tells how and where to find the jailer who was incharge of Siddhi.. Kunal enters the office of this jailer.
Kunal: Good Morning sir! Mein Kunal hun.. mein ek vakeel hun.. Siddhi Chopra ke liye aaya hun (He did not want to reveal that he was her husband)
Jailer: Hello Mr.Kunal! Siddhi Chopra tho yahaan se do maheene pehle riha ho gayi thi! Unki Umarkhaid hui lekin unke good behavior ki wajah se unhe jaldi chod diya gaya.
Kunal: Aap mujhe Siddhi ke baare me aur kuch jaankari de sakte hain?
Jailer: Siddhi ke baare me kya bataun Mr. Kunal.. Uske jaise khaidi ko hamne aaj tak nahi dekha!! Woh yahaan sabki help kartithi. Sabse bahut achi tarah se barthav karthi thi.. Jisko bhi problems ho na, woh apne upar leti thi unhe solve karne ke liye! Yahaan ke khaidiyon ke hi nahi, woh ham sab havaldaaron ki bhi help karthi thi. Usne mujhe meri wife se divorce hone se bacchaya. Aaj agar mein apne biwi ke saath kush hun tho woh sirf Siddhi ki wajah se!!
Kunal started feeling proud that the person whom the jailer was talking about was indeed his wife!! With a twinkle in his eye for hearing those sweet words from the jailer about his wife.. he listened!! His words were like music to Kunal's ears!! It was 9 years since he heard anything good about Siddhi and he did not want this conversation to end!!
