If he is doing it because of their extremely newly developed friendship? I don't think so😒. I think SiNal had developed very deep feelings and strong bond since the day they got married. With the passage of time, the bond remained unbroken; however, the feelings kept changing and converting into something more meaningful day by day even with all the obstacles and hindrances they had on the way. The bond between them was developed due to a common factor, Anand's death, but the feelings were definitely developed because of their fondness and attraction towards each-other.
Now Kunal has totally faalen in love with Siddhi (same goes for Siddhi, but in your post you are only asking about Kunal) and doing everything for her only out of love. He liked that Siddhi cried on his shoulders and that he was able to comfort her at the same time he also enjoyed the physical closeness with her as he mention it to her "tumhe sambhalna mushkil ho gaya tha" and "maine apni kameez shaeed kar di tumhare anssoo ke liye", but he liked that she did it as he noticed she was blushing only thinking about how close physically she had come to him while confiding in him and he assured her that he didn't mind the physical closeness either. He in way, is leading her on to do more of that sort of things with him and calling it a friendship because even he knows he can't call it a love as he had agreement with her prior to their marriage that love won't happen between them. Lekin, little he knew ki maine payar kiya ka dialog kitna true hai ki "ek ladka aur ek ladki kabhi dost nahi ho sakte, dosti to suglati huyee raaton mei dhadkate huye dilo ki dhadkane chupane ka sirf ek bahana hai" 😆😆. But it's very true, many a times a guy like Kunal and a girl like Siddhi call what they feel a friendship so they don't have to face the complications (in this case Siddhi being ex-fiance of Anand) the love comes with. I am not saying Husband and wife can't be friends, but I am saying they can't be just friends. They can only be lovers who are also very good friends. SiNal think that they are becoming good friends, but not realizing that they are falling madly in love which will also be great friendship throughout their lives.
