To be fair, there are communities in Gujarat who wear backless Cholis every day - it is standard dress for some banjara communities like Aahirs, Rabaaris etc. Like how they showed in Ramleela.

Though no urban/ suburban/ semi urban or even rural women wear this.

even Suman’s dressing shown that of kutchchi / Raabri community. not the correct one for Pandya matriarch.

Pandyas in Gujarat belong to Brahmin community. Dress code is standard Gujarati Saree - younger generation is ofcourse Normal cloths like anywhere else.
