To be honest I don't find him that annoying.

I feel he genuinely loves KD and his family.they share a deep bond.they share a room, they have common friends, they hang out together and he has bonded with Alice too.

He reacts when people badmouth his parents.he reacts when people talk bad about KD.he needs to keep his emotions in check on social media, but other than that he seems ok to me.
