But yes he drinks a couple of times aftr that.

1st one was when mullais friend insults him. The friend asks mullai how cud u marry such an untidy guy and all. For ur beauty and ur education hes not at all match. So these hurt him. It's like the 1st time he gets affected by someones words actually. And then he gets drunk and tells her the reason why he dint study that it was to help his brother. Mullai does feel a little bad.

The next time he gets drunk was when he goes for a reunion with friends but this time it's a cute one, mullai saves him from the family coming to know that hes drunk. That day he kinda confesses he loves her. But yes next day he forgets all that and covers the matter telling it was a lie. But mullai tries to save kathir when dhanam(dhara) questions him regarding this.

Another time he drinks is due to a misunderstanding, that's also a beautiful scene where he tells to his uncle that how much he loves mullai but she doesn't love him and how he is nt a match for her.

Then its shown like he is very very occasional drinker..lol. sometimes mullai insists him to drink cos she tells he speaks well when he gets drunk..lol.

But yeah there have been scenes where he tells he wont drink cos mullai doesn't like.

No kathir has drunk 4 times 1st for mullai friend insulting him. 2nd with friends get together. 3rd when 2tamil serials was merged for maha episode.4th when KM have gone to Chennai kathir drunk with his friend.

IIRC this arc begins the KM story, because I distinctly remember Kathir questioning the importance of clothes and looks with Kaka in the Tamil version. Thankfully he does not change himself, but this was the first major chink in his armor, where he atleast tried to question his beliefs based on Mullai’s opinion. Before that he only used to be like “This is Kathir, take it or leave it. I don’t care what you think”

But wasnt rishita a little more harsh?

In Tamil meena just asks him regarding the clothes that why he dresses like this?

But here rishita kinda insults him badly and also she goes overboard with getting into raavi and shivas personal matter. So hence raavi reacted in the same way. Meena just asked casually. She dint make fun of him if my memory is correct, I saw it long back.

But I remember in malayalam version Aparna asked it in a very friendly way. Not at all like an insult. It's like she wanted him to change all this for good.

But yes Raavi is shown more soft and caring than mullai. Here they showed she herself cleaning the clothes. Whereas there we saw mullai throwing those dress. Maybe in future we might get a scene where she questions shiva abt this, we never know.

I can't say about Meena, but Aparna is definitely a better character compared to Rishita. The latter is simply unbearable in so many ways. The only time Aparna pissed me off was when she insulted Anjali after her birthday. Other than that, she is a very interesting character overall. They could have done so much better with Rishita's character. I would have loved to see the trio, Raavi, Rishita and Krish bond with each other and have fun.

But I dont Like Hari (Dev) in malayalam version. He demands his wife to be like Devi(Dhara) and tells in return he will be a good husband as she wishes.🥱

In some scenes they show Aparna trying to please Hari and family by trying to cook and all.

That's where I find Jeeva and Meena more realistic than Hari and Appu.

Meena just doesn't care about what others think about her. But Aparna does want to please people in the house. But yes mostly she does thing sincerely.

Aww it's so nice to watch Tamil version replies in this thread..I'm a big fan of Kathir and mullai characters. Although I skip most of the parts now because of the replacement I still watch the show. It is on hold now due to covid. I feel rishtha character is a lot more rude than Meena.. I must say I adore Meena character too a lot such a reality check scenes she always stood for her husband, the possessive nature always showed her care and her thoughts with dhanam were reasonable to some extent. And her attachment to her paternal family especially the father had a great improvement in meena character..The change in her. I don't like her parents as matter of fact..they keep taunting and want their daughter to come back to them when she is actually happy.. what else do they need from moorthy family..

I sometimes wonder god when rishitha Dev scenes will coordinate with meena jeeva scenes where jeeva goes to meena house and stay there , the parents manipulation to Meena I don't want that to happen to rishitha , she is already a lot more rude than Meena , how will she react at those scenes.

When the Meenas fathers sister entered into moorthys family I wondered the Pandy store scenes how wonderful will it be to see rishitha defending her husbands family wow..in that track Meena came to know the brothers love from moorthys pov. That scenes were lit.

And then Meenas godh Bharayi scenes 😍.

I will never forget Chithra and no one can replace her as mullai.chithra is a gem I wish she is still alive and fought like a tigress in real life🥺

Always a mullai Kathir fan.

Now shiva raavi fan ❤️ I wait each day for their character to grow.

And I don't like mami daughter mendling in dhara life..it's so cheap men!! Doesn't she have self respect it's 10 years Yaar she should have moved on till now.🤷

And in Tamil they are showing Malli character now she wasn't before in the show ..it is irritating.

S definitely no one can replace chitra as mullai. The success of the character is mainly because she lived as mullai. Even though the replaced actress plays her part well, I feel the charm of the character is lost.

But I hope here they don't kill the charm of the character Raavi.

But here I liked one thing in Shiva character that he fought with Dev for hiding his love affair from Raavi. In Tamil version there were no such scenes of kathir telling jeeva to confess his love for Meena to mullai before marriage.

Who will fall in love first?

Shiva or Raavi?

How was it in the original?

And how was the confession?

Who will confess first?
