I really felt she was so overwhelmed, carried away by their prank act, it is so unworthy to beat up a grown up man this way with a stick.

You refer his as your son, if children commit mistakes, it is the duty of the parents to always look into the situation better and give them appropriate remarks or the reflection the impact of their act, or at times give lesser punishments like making them realise the outcome.
Instead beating up a boy that kind is unfair, the same day Gaumbhi slapped him and he was hurt, really for not his fault entirely. The boy can’t see his family falling apart, that’s why he reacted, but here again repeating the mistake by thrashing him is truly unjustified.
if you punish your kids by taking the weapons to trash them, they ultimately won’t repent but then alone they will grow much pessimistic and the feeling of being humiliated before the family at this age is intolerable.

The beating part, however, I don't agree at all. I understand the graveness of the prank, I am not at all saying that Krish or Shiva are not wrong. But the way Dhara was beating him, so harshly. It wasn't that in anger, she made a mistake and slapped him or something. No, she mindfully decided to beat him with a stick.

She needs to understand that they are not kids that she can control them with fear and reprimand them by beating. This shouldn't be done to kids either. There's no way they are going to realize their mistakes by being beaten up. Someone needs to make them understand what they did wrong, which they might have probably understood by themselves also, after such a big thing happened.

But whatever may be her reasoning behind all of this, I don't support this at all.

@bold hmm this is a new perspective. Didn't think it this way😃

Yea beating Krish up seemed very odd to me. Gomb slapped him in the previous argimrnt. Dhara beats him up with a stick 😂 I really felt sad for Krish.

Dhara and Gaumbi are very aggressive in their approach to disciplining their so-called children. I've never seen her raise as much as a finger at Dev even tho the "Petticoat chaap" probably deserved a beating or two.

The scare prank was a childish act by Shiva. Poor Krish was roped in too! I'm not sure how this would have helped too fix Rishita's arrogant behaviour, but I think the whole idea of the story was to highlight that Shiva is a kid in a man's body forcefully dumped into a serious relationship through no fault of his own. He needs to learn to say no to Dhara! She takes too many advantages of his kindness.

If everything was perfect then there would be no story to tell. I'm looking forward to how characters will develop following the bhootnath kaand.

I wouldn't call Dhara's reaction an overreaction, but rather the wrong reaction altogether. Beating them and threatening to leave the house is not going to teach Shiva and Krish that they need to grow up and learn to communicate maturely using their words when they don't like something, instead of resorting to these childish and cruel pranks. They need to be told that not everyone's world can revolve around their Dhara Bhabhi and Gaumbi, and that not everything said in disagreement with them is an insult. Multiple people have said this, and I agree: You can't coddle them their whole lives by saying "mere bachhe mere bachhe" and then expect them to be mature out of nowhere.

To be honest, I had expected a lot more from Gautam's influence over his younger brothers. Gautam is very emotionally mature, a trait that is not commonly seen in ITV MLs, and he also knows how to empathize and is very in tune with other peoples' feelings. It kind of stumps me how the brothers, especially Shiva and Krish, seemed to have learned nothing from him. Shiva is literally a married man, and Krish is in college. They aren't children anymore, and they need that to be explained to them thoroughly and properly, instead of just slapping and scolding them and hoping the point comes across.

These bandaid approaches that Dhara and Gautam are employing to solve problems in their family is exactly what resulted in that "pressure cooker" bursting.

Dhara's reaction is not justified. It is a massive overreaction to hit other people especially other family members when verbal reprimand would be just as effective but it is being shown because the writers couldn't think of a more creative way to introduce conflict and create drama.

Then after all this she comes and tell not to let Suman know anything. And blackmail them she will leave home if they tell. Because she knows if Suman knows about this she might not need to do anything, instead suman will kick her out. I hope suman knows about this and teach both Dhara and Rishita s lesson they badly needs.

No way in hell! She deserves a strong punishment for what she did today

Whether the makers think so or not is a different issue 😕

It’s not justified. She was excessive. I get slapping both of them - standard brown response of discipline. And silent treatment (that always worked with me LOL) ... But beating with a stick - the punishment doesn’t fit the crime and above all else, she had no right to discipline them in that way when their own brother didn’t. Being bhabhimaa is still never equivalent of being maa.

Despite it all being parental abuse, if anyone can lay hands on their kid like that, it would be the mother. I get she raised helped them, but it’s only been 10 years, not 20. She’s let the title of bhabhimaa get to her. And because she has no real idea of how to discipline adults, she resorts to the tactics she probably used when they were kids. Who beats up grown men like that? Why? How is it going to help. She constantly babies them and then doesn’t understand why they can’t be mature. Well duh.

Also, their mom was still around. I don’t understand how they give her the level of importance that they do or why the show made it seem like their mom couldn’t parent at all. They don’t even give their brother that level of respect and importance and their father is gone so he’s the one that really had to step up.

On what others have said about Krish & Shivas being kids- I mean, they’re still just YOUNG adults. I don’t think Shiva is more than 22? That’s barely out of college age. Boys still pull pranks at that age. Not surprised they wanted to mess with Rishita.

Also she keeps forgetting that although Rishita (& Raavi for Krish) is a bhabhi to them, she is not older than them like Dhara is. It’s hard to give the same level of respect you would give to an older person to someone your age just because your relationship changed. They are all essentially same generation, while Dhara/Gaumbi are not. How can she not understand that?
