His character seems different here compared to the original. But we still don’t get to see his inner mind workings, so it might be there

Shiva's inferiority complex was honestly the reason why I fell in love with Pandian Stores. Too many times, I see a male lead who is cold for superficial reasons, but Shiva's feelings grew in the years. He's made so many sacrifices (don't know about the original, but in the Telugu one, he had forgone his education at an early age to help his brother at the store), so to hear words like "gawar" "stupid" "fool", especially from people who are supposed to be his main family (brother and wife) is very, very painful indeed.

My favorite episodes in the original were when he cried and let out his thoughts. It was one of the few times the audience gained an inside look into his thoughts, and honestly, you can't help but fall even more in love with him. To me, Shiva is not a fool. He's the smartest of them all. He knew how disastrous the wedding would turn out if Dev chose not to marry Raavi, he knew that untying Raavi at that moment might lead to her getting hurt, he knew how much Raavi did not like he and offered her a way out.

Even in today's episode, he took/listened to Dhara's advice. Beating up Janu might have been the easiest way out, but he understood the implications that it may have on Rishita moving forward. As much as he doesn't like Dev or Rishita at the moment, he still respected them enough to come up with the blackmailing idea. Literally, the man was so adorable! He came up with the idea and solution that respected everyone within seconds!

So far, I think Pandya Store is setting up for the scenes where Shiva will break. His wife had insulted him, his brother had insulted him, I think the final nail in the coffin will be when Raavi and him get into another misunderstanding and Prafulla insults him (I know Prafulla has always insulted him, but I think now it'll be different since he and her are even more related).

For those of you who haven't seen the original or remakes, trust me, despite how heartbreaking those episodes will be, Shiva's breakdown will be one of the most memorable/lasting episodes. I still think about it and re-watch it every now and then because of how wonderful the build-up to those scenes are.

It was even more painful in the original Tamil version because Shiva topped his school and dreamt of becoming a collector but had to stop his education after 10th grade to help out his brother in the store.. he gave up all his dreams just like that, yet was misunderstood by all which made his breakdown very very heart touching. I couldn't watch it more than once because of how painful it was..

He was/is the smartest of all his brothers and always came up with innovative and great ideas to solve all the problems in the family.

He is very different from the typical male lead we see all the time, which is why I also love his character so much ❤️

Can someone translate Krish's one-liner...i am no fluent in Hindi.

"Lagta hai agala "kul dipak" lane ki zimadari inki hai">

Looks like they will be the one responsible for bringing the next heir in the family. Humor is lost in translation, but It's like play on words because they're going to Kul Devi ma's temple. And their romance will bring "Kul dipak". 😆

Then he juxtaposes DevTa's PDA with ShiVi's distance and says " and these two look like their film hasn't even started". To which Shiva rolls his eyes.

I wonder how that day will be, when gadheda and gadhedi team up!

Then I have to sympathise with dev🤣
