Shiva's inferiority complex was honestly the reason why I fell in love with Pandian Stores. Too many times, I see a male lead who is cold for superficial reasons, but Shiva's feelings grew in the years. He knew how disastrous the wedding would turn out if Dev chose not to marry Raavi, he knew that untying Raavi at that moment might lead to her getting hurt, he knew how much Raavi did not like he and offered her a way out.

Even in today's episode, he took/listened to Dhara's advice. Beating up Janu might have been the easiest way out, but he understood the implications that it may have on Rishita moving forward. As much as he doesn't like Dev or Rishita at the moment, he still respected them enough to come up with the blackmailing idea. Literally, the man was so adorable! He came up with the idea and solution that respected everyone within seconds!

So far, I think Pandya Store is setting up for the scenes where Shiva will break. His wife had insulted him, his brother had insulted him, I think the final nail in the coffin will be when Raavi and him get into another misunderstanding and Prafulla insults him (I know Prafulla has always insulted him, but I think now it'll be different since he and her are even more related).

For those of you who haven't seen the original or remakes, trust me, despite how heartbreaking those episodes will be, Shiva's breakdown will be one of the most memorable/lasting episodes. I still think about it and re-watch it every now and then because of how wonderful the build-up to those scenes are.

Haha, I just realized I never answered the second part of your question ML, yes, Raavi and Shiva will both become each other's pillars of support. Though we've been robbed of seeing how GauRa fell in love, we won't be robbed of ShiVi's love story, and it is definitely one for the books.

Haha, I don't think I'll be spoiling it by any means... I didn't follow the original Pandian Stores religiously until ~160 episodes. I only went back to see the major scenes and Shiva's meltdown was a scene I watch (just that, nothing leading up to it).

The whole Prafulla thing was just a prediction because I don't think Dhara, Gaumbi, Krish, or Suman would say anything detrimental to hurt Shiva. That leaves us with Rishita and Prafulla (in terms of major characters). I don't think Rishita and Shiva formed enough of a bond for him to get hurt over her words, so I'm guessing Prafulla's words will be the nail in the coffin, unless Raavi says something hurtful to him again, which I find a little less likely to believe considering her nature.

But I don’t think Shiva gives two cents about what Prafulla thinks. So I’m not sure if that’d be the thing to make him burst.

Should be something related to Raavi only is my guess. Maybe an accident or some embarrassment to her. Idk.

Hmm... so I know you mentioned you didn't understand that much Tamil, but Episodes 91-92 in the original are Shiva's outbursts and breakdowns (92 is where he breaks down in front of Raavi). It was very early into their wedding in the original. Shiva is someone who does not drink (again, another gentlemanly trait) but he does so because he eventually cracks from being called "gawar" and "uneducated."

But Pandya Store is somewhat interesting here because the Bikaner trip came a lot earlier than in the original. There, they don't go to Kodaikanal until after Rishita's birthday. And we definitely know Rishita hadn't had a birthday yet or she would've made a big deal about it. So I'm interested to see when Shiva's outburst will be here. I think it is definitely coming, especially with how the show is setting everything up...

Thanks, Avi! Haha I am Gujju and don't understand any Tamil. But I'll try to watch it for emotions. Is so wish they had subtitles.

Raavi's mentioned it multiple times this week about him being unpad, gawar, etc and I think with everything going on, shit's about to hit the fan. I am looking forward to that scene. It will open a different page in Shiva's life for Raavi and a progress in their relationship.

Yeah, I have to agree with you, Shiva doesn't normally give two-cents about what Prafulla thinks. But, I've always thought time and place and situation all really matter. Back then, those two were no more than distant-ish relatives. Now Shiva is married to Prafulla's almost daughter. And, he is also fully aware that Prafulla wants Raavi to leave the relationship.

I think if Prafulla told Shiva she didn't want Raavi to be with him because he was scary, too buff, volatile, I think it would be something else. But if she said she didn't want Raavi to be with him because he was a "gawar" I think it would really, really hurt him as it seems like some of his insecurities are stemming from not being as "good" as his brothers on paper.

In the Telugu version, Shiva ends up crying and saying something along the lines of "What did I do to deserve all of this? I didn't ask for any of this," and based on Shiva's quietness, I think we'll be going down that path. His meltdown (despite heartbreaking), will be needed for him to heal.
