I know Shiva in other versions never completed his education. Didn't we get a different story here tho? Kid Shiva not wanting to study was understandable, but Gaura were always stringent on education. Afterwards, Shiva agrees to go to school. That could be dismissed as a normal tantrum by a kid who doesn't enjoy schoolwork.

I was under the impression that Shiva was educated here, perhaps he hasn't done a PG like Dev, but surely he's out of college? He probably doesn't love learning like Dev but he's sensible enough to understand the importance of education, especially brought up by Gaura.

When Krish is caught smoking, Shiva advices him to focus on his education. And it's also mentioned how he caugh Krish smoking in college the 1st time... implying they went to the same college?

Why did Mami call him unpad gawar then? 😳

I was thinking about this too.

Maybe Shiva did complete his education but never was good at school and everyone knows he did it just because Dhara and Gaumbi wanted him to complete.

And in Comparison to Dev he seems Gawar...

I mean she calls him evil, shaitan etc as well which isn’t true

Gautam , Dhara , Dev all were Topper of their college time .Shiva in comparison to that was neither interested in study and nor he was intelligent. Plus coz of his outfits and language Maami calls him that .By Anpad Gawaar she doesnt mean the literal meaning but she mean an uncultured guy . I think this way ..rest makers know.

Okay it makes sense if Mami says it figuratively, I was worried they were going to change up the storyline for an education track. So she's calling him that as a mix of comparison with Dev (and Gaura) + his gruff behaviour. Got it!

Also, I don't think he's less intelligent even though he's not academically inclined. Kid Shiva was always shown to be very street smart and resourceful.

College dropout is less likely seeing how Dhara would never be okay with that. She wanted him to do well at school, so he must've passed with decent grades for her sake.

I think Mami just calls him that because he's brash. Nothing to do with education.

Dhara would not be okay with Shiva not completing his education. Yeah, he wasn't interested but did just enough I guess. He didn't attend a Uni like Dev.

Initially i thought he failed in couple of subjects and dropped out but what you guys say makes sense. Gaura will not let him do that so that sentence must be figurative.

For this one, I have a different opinion. Considering how hard it was to convince Shiva to go to school at young age, I think he finished 12th and then never attended college. He loved the store too much and always wanted to help out. Though Dhara was always strong on education, I think this maybe where they may have compromised.

About Shiva catching Krish with Cigarette, I thought he caught him in passing at college while running errands by there or dropping/picking up Krish one of the days.

This way, they'll probably introduce Shiva learning the importance of formal education and showing college track.

But what you all are saying makes perfect sense as well.

And agree, he may not be book smart, but he's street smart and is probably the sharpest among the three brothers.

Someone told me in the Tamil version

Raavi encourages him to learn to read and write

I hope this makers are not planning to copy paste that

I would find that slightly annoying tbh

To run a shop you need to know how to read and write
