Thank you. In this world dependence is such that it hurts not only your identity but also your soul.
Bisma when she was widowed after 2 years of torture chose not to escape, was rather unable to at that time, then how can she do it so easily after 25-27 years of abuse.
There are so many free humans who stay in horrible situations not because they're kidnapped but it's that shelter, it's knowing that one abuser instead of 20 random on the street that they stay. Remember what Bisma says...that world is a jungle with bheriya compared to only Taya and dado. They're mehfuz in that home physically....
The duress insane.
I remember as a kid when I visited a desi country I used to be so mad at seeing other child helpers/maids my age. I used to ask why they're here? At the end of their shift when their parents or mom would come I used to chat with them and try to find out more about their life. At that time I didn't realize but I do now as a grown adult that no parent would like to send their precious jaan to be a house help to be abused and tortured. Itni gurbat aur majboori hai.
Sometimes we forget to see it from the oppressed people's point of view. We need to show grace and mercy to Bisma.
No one in this world like to be enslaved and under duress for their human rights like food, shelter safety and medicine.
It is the evil circumstances that people like dado and Taya and hence the society creates.
That's my take.
If we see Bisma as a hindrance to Nashwa Burhan getting together then one will get mad at her but if we see her as her character is...then it will make sense.
Also, she's asking Nashwa to run away but she herself won't go and Nashwa will never leave her. I said this 1 thread ago that the weakest link between them escaping and being stuck is Bisma's situation.
