She seems to understand Bilal Abdullah pretty well! His feelings of hurt and what is causing them is something she has a good understanding of.
I agree with a lot of what she says but not everything. To me, I think they made it pretty obvious that Bilal didn’t just fall for Sadaf’s looks. It’s what got his attention initially but then she ends up being Mirza Saab’s daughter. On top of that, she seems connected to so many other people…Ammar and Humsha…so her topic was always at the forefront. But honestly the amount of times he has talked about his respect for Mirza Saab, it’s obvious that he feels some connection and affinity to Sadaf through that relationship. I understand what Rabia is saying though because the focus wasn’t on the two of them. The focus has been on Sadaf and her family and all of this gets lost somewhere. I know the setup was important but so much time was spent on it that the main couple didn’t receive the focus that they should have. I think if it moved faster on those scenes, it would have been fine. Same with Humsha…I think people forget about that earlier scene where it was obvious that she has feelings for Bilal.
About Ammar, I know that Rabia thinks it doesn’t make sense but everything she pointed out is actually intentionally shown. He expects loyalty from Sadaf when she’s been clear that she wants nothing to do with him. He doesn’t respect her decisions.
Ok question for you guys. Do you think that Bilal doesn’t sleep with these escorts? I just assumed they meant he doesn’t sleep with them every night and is looking for companionship without commitment more than anything. Like sleeping with them isn’t his main motive for seeking them out. He’s lonely and needs to blurt things out when he’s drunk and these women listen. However I cannot believe that he hires these women and never sleeps with them especially when alcohol is involved. I think they just didn’t want him to sound like a $ex addicted creep. I mean it’s fine for a piece of fiction but even I was thinking that I could never be with a guy who was sleeping with random women every night…it would just bother me too much. So I don’t think he’s a virgin but I don’t think he’s promiscuous either.
I think the entire aim of that scene was to establish that Bilal doesn't sleep with them. He buys their time to have conversations with them and spend time with them...The girl was pretty specific when she said all she has to do is smile and converse with him and in return she gets so much money that she doesn't have to sell herself to others......And then Bilal asked her, if they were not friends ? to which she replied that they weren't because she is doing it for money...It was a beautifully written scene tbh. Conversations around being friends and how she only has to smile and converse were clear indicators that he doesn't sleep with them.
My issue with SMD is the lack of Bilal...He has no family so it's tough to get his scenes but in the initial episodes, there should have been equal emphasis on his character as Sadaf's family issues.
