Okay..saw Hassan and Amna's review...Aamna is calling SMD a guilty pleasure Somehow I totally agree with whatever they said..I mean I want to see Wahaj in a more happy roles and different roles instead of a sad romantic drama but than I feel like Bilal Abdullah was just meant for him..no other actor could have done that role other than him...his character and his dialogues are the only good thing in the show..

The truth of the matter is that no one would rank BA in even top 5 or even top 7 Wahaj performances. It is better than Mein, but that is such a low threshold.

The character of BA had so much potential, and this could have been among Wahaj's top 3/top 5 performances, but Wahaj (and Haseeb) have dropped the ball. Wahaj is really good in specific moments and scenes, but the way he developed the character and his character graph are weak and all over the place. Like he performs someone who is drunk in his drinking scenes but he is not playing an alcoholic character. His love gazes and in love expressions on their own in isolation maybe nice but they do not make sense if you want to understand how BA's feelings have evolved.

On one hand, the writer didn't have a grip on the characterization but neither did the director and the actor, and it shows. Where Haseeb has focused on just making frames look beautiful Wahaj only focussed on doing individual scenes and not focusing on how his performance fits on the character graph. I had really hoped that, considering Wahaj wasn't doing another drama at the time or many ps, he would have paid more attention to properly conceiving and developing the character.

I honestly don't understand though when SH shits on Wahaj's performance in MPHT and 22 Qadam. He was pretty good in both and reviews at the time these shows were on air really praised his performances. The shows themselves had their issues but with every other actor, these reviewers make the distinction between performance and story. Abdullahpur ka Devdas was a terrible story and full of nonsense but Bilal performed well. That's how I saw MPHT too. It wasn't a good show but Wahaj's performance as Saad was the only silver lining.

Mein was a bad choice as is SMD. Whereas in both MPHT and 22 Qadam Wahaj performance tried to elevate story/script issues, I didn't see that effort from him in Mein (at all) and only partly in SMD.

Seriously! Hassan and Amina have some weird memory loss regarding their own reviews of these shows They raved about his performance in those shows and rightfully so. Not sure why this specific memory loss is happening but it’s extremely annoying.
